Avoid! I am not one to ever write reviews but for the sake of future customers- This agency neglects all duty of care for tenants and represents illegal landlords. Even in the light of blatant law breaking from a 'self managing' landlord they represent, (including a burst heating pipe for months causing additional issues such as flooding and damp), intimidation and bullying, the agency did nothing. In addition they sold the property incorrectly at the beginning of the lease, failing to disclose points of interest requested by the landlord to be passed on to prospective tenants. They also made errors in the contract. Just avoid at all costs, there are some fantastic, impartial but supportive agencies in Chesterfield, this is not one of them.

I have moved into a frank Innes rental over a year ago now. When we took a look around, things was ok but a lot that needed repairing and re freshing where the old Tentants had put holes in the walls and children had drawn all over the walls. And extreme damp in the bathroom as there was no extraction from there, another job that should have been sorted. They said that when we move in everything would be sorted, but it wasn't, they had left the house exactly how the last tenants had left the house and said we will give you £50 towards paint. So although was paying £650 PCM rent I Ended up moving into a rented property and re decorating ect myself. Still a year and half down the line and still not one of the problems have been sorted. Don't ever choose frank Innes.... They will get you to sign then not help you, although still paying rent ect.

We put our property on the market in July 2012 with the request of assisted viewings during working hours as my husband is disabled. Since we had the initial valuation, which was one of three, we decided on Frank Innes in Chesterfield as we strongly felt that they more than matched the requirement of our needs. We sold the property in auction in December 2012 which is what we wanted if it did not sell on the open market before this time. Through all this time, before, during and after viewings (of which we had quite a few in the four and a half months on the market), and all phone calls and personal visits to the property and the Chesterfield office, Karen and all her staff were polite, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. As a result of how myself and my husband have been treated, my step-dad is seriously considering using Frank Innes to market his property.
In response to the two negative views on here, I do not know who you were dealing with, but it certainly does not sound like you were dealing with Karen and her team.
I strongly recommend Chesterfield Frank Innes to sell your property.

We recently purchased a property through Frank Innes Chesterfield and were very pleased with the professionalism of Karen Coleman. How refreshing it was to be kept up to date and find someone so helpful. She arranged a structural survey for us obtaining three quotes so we could make an informed choice.
Mike was very helpful with the viewing arrangements and was outside the properties when we arrived.
We completed today (30th Jan) and Karen rang as promised to let us know the keys were ready for collection.

Hired this estate agency to sell my property which later on proved a big mistake. Not only they overvalued my property and advised on a wrong marketing price just to get my busyness, but also stopped marketing my property and refused to show it to other prospective buyers after they persuaded me to accept a low offer on my property just to get their commission (which was obviously a fixed amount). When 4 months later I decided to pull out of that sale which kept dragging on also due to the fact I received a substantially higher offer from another buyer ( found by myself and not Frank Innes) I got threatening phonecalls from Mrs. Karen Coleman trying to convince me not to pull out from the sale with the buyer she found and when she saw that tactic did not work out with me she started threatening of raising and invoice for commission against me on exchange with the new buyer!! (Although Frank Innes had nothing to do with introducing this new buyer to my property!!) Obviously the complaint I made to , again, this Mrs. Coleman came back unsatisfactory and full of false statements, leaving me to option but to address to the Ombudsman. By the way , the only answer Mrs. Coleman is able to give to any complaint is "WE ARE RUNNING IN CIRCLES" .... a very proffessional statement indeed :) AVOID AT ALL COST AND BE EXTRA CAREFUL READING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT IF YOU DO HAVE THE MISFORTUNE OF GETTING IN A CONTRACT WITH THIS AGENCY

What agent could do to change your mind?
The Agent could employ people who are capable of doing the job because it seems everyone we have dealt with are a joke, to say the least! Its not a hard job so we find it quite shocking how so many staff are incapable! The best thing for these agents would be to shut it down! It is absolutely unacceptable that we have not recieved money we are owed after 8 weeks, should the boot be on the other foot I am sure you would also find it unacceptable if we owed a substantial amount of money to the company and still had not paid it 8 weeks later! Im sure your staff would be constantly ringing us! It is an absolute shambles!

I don't know where to start really! I thought moving in with your partner was supposed to be exciting, it was nothing but stressful for us! Firstly, we paid an estate agent fee of about £237 pp, I dont know what this was for as we had to do everything ourselves, it was up to us to travel 70 miles for refernces, the staff at frank innes did next to nothing to get us moved in to our new home! Also as one of us failed our referrencing we had to pay 6 months rent up front, this was not a problem for us until it came to moving out! When we arrived in the house it had not been cleaned it was a mess, however, we were so relieved to finally be in we didnt bother complaining. Due to financial difficulties we had to move out of the property early, we made the staff at chesterfield and derby well aware that we needed the money back for the two months we had prepaid and were told that was fine and we would recieve the rent back. 8 weeks on, we have still recieved no money from them, everytime we ring we are fobbed off by the staff who say 'we will find out whats going on and call you back', as you have probably guessed we dont get a call back! We were also told when moving out by Charlie from the chesterfield branch we could leave some belongings such as a sofa and a bed at the property and she would ask the next tennant if she wanted them. My partner and I then got a phonecall on Monday from the Derby branchtelling us we would have to remove the items we left in the property by 5 o'clock the same day or we would be charged for the removal! As we were both at work this would be impossible so we had no choice but to be charged £180 to remove these items. As you can imagine we were not very happy about this as we had been told by Charlie we could leave them, throughout the whole process we got mixed messages from the Chesterfield and Derby branch's. The staff are incapable of doing their job and when my partner and I come to buy a house we would NEVER use this company again, even if our dream house was up for sale with frank innes there is NO WAY we would put ourselves through the stress of dealing with this shambles of a company again!

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could have stood by their word, that they agreed to verbally before we signed the contract, as if they could not meet our request, we would have not signed the contract.

We entered into a contract with Frank Innes, after advising them that we wanted them to do all of the viewings & to be at our property ahead of the viewers. Frank Innes agreed to this, so we signed the contract, I have a disability that they were made aware of from the beginning & my wife did not want to meet any viewers. frank Innes have done one viewing correctly out of a total of 6. I had informed them on two occasions that they were not doing what we had required, & then had a lengthy conversation with the manageress Karem Coleman about being let down, she informed me she would have any other viewings in the agents diaries passed by her first & that agents would arrive 15 minutes prior to viewers. I thanked her & thought that everything had been ironed out to our satisfaction. I then received a call from one of the staff to make three appointments with the promise they would be with us 15minutes before viewers. The conversation I had with Karen Coleman to iron things out had been on a Monday, the first viewing was going to be on the Thursday, yet again they were not here, the viewers turned up on time & the agents rang to say that the member of staff could not get to us, so they were sending Mike from the office, who should have came in the first place, he arrived half a hour late. the Manageress rang me the next day asking "How I Was"? I told her we were not happy & we had taken advice from CAB that they were in breach of contract & that we wanted the contract to end in it's entirety & a full refund of our advertising costs. I have received a obscure blanket letter from Karen Coleman & they have removed our property from the internet, & no more correspondence, we are now going to complain to the Ombudsman TPO which they are members of. Their sales spiel & what they promised us have not been given to us & I would recommend that you steer clear of the Chesterfield Branch.
