I could go on forever about the constant problems I had with this agent over my 3 years as a private tenant. I work night shifts and regularly had issues with them trying to arrange inspections, as it's what's convenient for them and not you. This resulted in me cancelling numerous times, complaining to head office and my wishes constantly being ignored. This continued for the duration of THREE years. The final straw was when I received a phone call from said agents to inform me my rent hadn't been paid and that my landlord could issue me with a section whatever it was, basically to kick me out. My rent was always paid on the 1st of the month,but after 3 years they suddenly decided it was due on the 30th. I quite happily started to search for a new home. I was then further insulted after I'd moved out when I received another call to inform me they wanted £50 from my deposit to clean the oven, which had already been done by myself and I'd also spent over £100 to tidy up the mess of a garden at the property. I just paid this off as I'd had enough of dealing with them. I'm now very happy in my new home and with my new agents who I can't fault. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!!

Disgusting company. Rented our first house with these clowns and had rubbish service throughout. They wouldn't come round to sort out things that were broken and we had to live in a house invested with damp which attracted all sorts of critters which was wasn't nice. Avoid like the plague! said about Farrell Heyworth

Disgusting company. Rented our first house with these clowns and had rubbish service throughout. They wouldn't come round to sort out things that were broken and we had to live in a house invested with damp which attracted all sorts of critters which was wasn't nice. Nothing was done about the damp all they did was paint over it and pretend the problem was sorted but you don't need a genius to know that painting over it solves the issue. The people who worked here were utterly useless and rude and couldn't care less. They didn't have a clue about anything (train your staff). When we moved out they tried to take �230 from our �600 deposit for silly things like cob webs and cleaning (even though we throughly cleaned the house before we left and cleaned the carpets). We thought this was attrocious so decided to take this to tds thinking that what they were doing was simply wrong as they tried to charge us for a blind that we bought and put up ourselves. Unfortunately we got �11.99 back from the tds and read the comments of the decision. They obviously favoured farrell heyworth and rushed through it. Apparently a guinea pig can cause mucky carpets even though he was caged and mould/damp was irrelevant and we didnt have permission to put a blind up ? How ridiculous what did you expect us to do ??? Plus we left our curtain poles for the next Tennant. We were overall dissapointed by this agent and hope no one goes through what we did. If you are with farrell heyworth, make sure they don't rob you of your deposit and I would advise you get another agent. To sum it up they are money grabbers with inexperienced staff. Never again will be using these nor will I recommend them to anyone.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Genuinely poor - i was also notified the first month half price rent wouldn't be till the end of my agreement - there competitor did this at the start of the lease.

I used Farrell Heyworth to view a property in Bolton - I Wanted to take on the lease after the viewing was told by Stacey the fee could only be taken in person at the office after she spoke to somebody there..... - I then called this morning to notify them i will come in in person to pay the fee as i was informed this is the only way this can be done to hold the property viewed!!! I spoke to Paul he agreed thats fine and to head over - Once I arrived in Bolton they notified me the property was just taken (VIA payment over the phone after i tried to do this previously and was informed i had to come in person...??) .... Obviously very annoyed as i drove from my office in the centre of Manchester to the centre of Bolton after notifying Paul i was coming in person to pay the Admin fee……I managed to lease one of the other apartments from a much more professional and competent competitor of theres in Bolton who happened to have a similar apartment int he same building - Greenwood James agency handled the lease within an hour - i dodged a bullet not having to deal with Farrell Heyworth in the long run ….

What agent could do to change your mind?
Turning up every now and then would have been a good start. Or returning a phone call. Being frank, Farrell Heyworth were NOT a letting agency. They took a cut of the landlords rent for the sake of making sure rent was in on time.
This included me having to ring the landlord while she was in hospital, giving birth because of a flood of water pouring in from a lift shaft that Farrell Heyworth never acknowledged.
Genuinely disgusted and glad to be moving out soon.
Comments on Agent Fees
Usual garbage fees for checks which we had thorough proof of anyway. To be honest no different from other estate agents, though did overcharge.

Had a bad leak within months of moving to the property. Reported this more times than I care to count. On eventually getting a response, it's apparently 'nothing to do with Farrel Heyworth. We just handled the property' I needed to speak to the owners of the building. Spoke to them (briefly) who stated they would only deal with either the actual owner or their letting agency. Farrell heyworth still refused to do anything.
Luckily managed to get in touch with the landlady (who has visited the property many more times than Farrell Heyworth!!!) who managed to sort small things out.
They then had the cheek during an inspection to point out some of the damage to the flat because of damp saying "Not being funny, but most people would have kicked up a fuss about something this bad".
3 days later I get a call from Paul saying "Apparently, there's some issue with damp in the flat?". No shit sherlock.
Just generally the worst company I've dealt with, and not just in terms of lettings.

Paul Hearne did an excellent job for me when my tenant abandoned my property without observing the due process. Paul was on hand to deliver the right advice, the right expertise and with the right amount of diligence. Two weeks later we have a new tenant, any remedial works to the property have been carried out. He is taking the appropriate action to contact the old tenant and sort things out properly with them. Not a hassle free experience as a landlord, for obvious reasons, but when things go wrong I know I can have confidence in my managing agents to sort it out especially as I am dawwn soouff nowww!
