The worst agency to deal with as tenants. Wouldn't even want to give 1 star. While in the property, everytime a problem was reported you have to chase up with them yourselves. Now that we no longer are their tenants we have to chase them for our deposit?! And they come up with a whole list of made up problems just so the deposit goes in the landlords favour. This agency works ONLY in favour of the landlord. Absolute dodgers..

I spoke to them on a Monday to arrange a viewing for a property with their board on it. I was told the paperwork isn't complete for the listing. Once it's listed the property will go online. The property went online on a Friday. When I rang again to arrange viewing a female member told me the property had been viewed 11 times already on the Wednesday and offers have been made. The liars now claim I wanted to view a property under offer when all I wanted to do was view a property but was messed around. I am still waiting for a response a week later as they were making enquiries with the sales team regarding the situation.

Very bad fees expensive I am very glad I terminated my contract I am now going with another estate agent. The fees are day light robbery for the service they provide.

They said I would sell my property in 8 weeks, that was the valuation Manager Stephen Ward. I would have 10 viewings a week, I was told by Gina from the Bolton branch. This did not happen, I had a 8 week rolling contract with Farrell Heyworth they tried telling me I did not when I had the contract printed out in black & white. I terminated the contract after 6 weeks. Do not use this estate agents all staff full of hot air and promises that they can't keep. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

What a terrible agent and landlord! On several occasions I have been left with no hot water and heater - worse being over one week, from Easter Friday, with the same issues reported prior. Neither the agent nor the landlords would compensate me for the failure especially because it happened during, after and at Easter! Third issue reported, boiler unit box is unlike anything I have ever seen , and nearly fell on me due to screw left loos for access, and after explaining needs fixing back, I was sent the polite and disbelieve email of my word against the rubbish constructors they use - thanks Natalie, I have now got this big box unit using most of the small kitcken space! Insulation awful, no vents in toilets and most importantly unreliable estate agent that aims to please the landlords and their own reduced call out expenses! I am a professional tenant and paid my rent on time but extremely disgusted, especially for Easter incident! All good words until tenants move in! 22 Croft road Chorley, and Farrell Heyworth never again for anything!

When I asked if my house had any interest they replied with 'I don't know I've not checked me emails all day'.
I want out of my contract and they are all ignoring me. They move all your stuff to take pictures and don't put it back, it was a rushed job. The listing on rightmove was wrong and it failed to appear on zoopla.
I've tried countless times to communicate with them, head office and the manger and they ignore my calls, texts and emails.
2 weeks later and no one will answer my questions regarding my contact. Absolutely terrible and very unprofessional.
I want to move forward with an agent I have confidence and trust in and I can't because of Farrel Heyworth.
I would advise anyone who are thinking of going with them not too.

We recently had to sell my mother's house to pay for her care home fees. The manager from Farrell and Heyworth was friendly when I met him at the property, unfortunately this was the only company my sister had contacted to sell our mother's house.I had done everything myself and this was the only thing my sister was arranging. I wanted to choose the best of 3 agents like I have done in the past selling my own properties... big mistake I didn't this time. The manager advised me he knew buyers who would purchase the house straight away if I wanted to make a quick sale and also stated the house was worth 'around 50,000.00'. I (and everyone else) were all very shocked at the very low value the house had been valued at. A large three bed semi, immaculate rear garden not overlooked. Yes it is on a main road with a small front garden and is an ex council house, but it just needed decorating, a perfect family home. The offers poured in immediately and constantly from people desperate to buy this bargain for 50,000.00. I received many calls from the estate agent with the low offers. I quickly realised the house had been hugely under valued. I told the agent I wanted to wait until we had the highest offer, I didn't want to just sell when we all knew it was worth a lot more.At the end of the day, mother had to sell the house to pay for her care. I also got the impression the agent was getting very tired of showing potential buyers around the property...this was done in group viewings which wasnt a problem but the fact they had undervalued it they had lots of viewings. They hadn't even advertised the house on line or in their branch window. Weeks later, I asked (again) why they still had not advertised the property online with Rightmove etc. I also still hadn't received any literature showing the advert for the house. I was blatantly lied to when I asked if the property was advertised in their branch window, they told me it was but they were unaware I walk past their branch twice a day as I go to work (so I knew for a fact it was not in their window, they lied to me). By the end of that day when they realised I had 'caught them out', they finally had the literature ready for me containing the photos/advert of the house, and the advert was finally in their branch window. In the end, I told them I was not going to settle for less than 60,000.00, and guess what? the house sold for 65,000.00. I was made to feel like a total 'thorn in their side' by the end of the sale. I rang the branch to ask when the buyer wanted to complete, the member of staff didn't even realise we were ready to exchange contracts and all paperwork had been signed at our solicitors to complete. And the final insult, I have not even had a 'thank you for your custom' for the 1800.00 they have received. This is the worst experience I have every had when dealing with and 'estate agent'.

Please avoid this estate agent at all costs. I was disappointed to see "terrible" was the worst word I could use to describe them.
Do not be fooled (as we were) by Martin who comes out to value your property, it'll be the first and last time you have contact with him and his staff.
I think they had no interest in our property as it was only a two bed terrace and therefore of little financial gain to them. The entire team are incompetent, most of the time I advised them of the course of action to take as they messed up so many times I've lost count. Failed to do correct check in and outs costing us hundreds of pounds to correct. Our tenants refused viewings and disappeared for 5 weeks, Farrell Heyworth did nothing. They were rude over the phone, lied numerous times to save their own skin. They advised our tenants they could paint our home BLUE and then denied it to us. Our house was on the market with them for 6 MONTHS and we didn't even know! Not one email or phone call and clearly not one viewing! You've been warned. Read the other reviews, I wish I had!!!

We used the Bolton branch to fully manage our property when we moved out of the area.we moved out in February 2011 and a tenant moved in to the house in June.the property was in a clean state when we left as I am very particular when it comes to cleanliness.throughout the tenancy we did everything that the tenants requested, even agreed to them having dogs and redecorating certain rooms.we moved back into the house on 20 April and the tenants had moved out 2 days before.on a couple of occasions during the tenancy we had to fix things for the tenants and we noticed the cleanliness in certain areas,ie shower full of mould and absolutely filthy, dogs mess on the carpets.we informed the agents of this and he advised he would speak to the tenants.anyway, other things happened during the tenancy and basically they were ok tenants.however on moving back in to the property we discovered they had installed electrics without our permission, had not held up their end of the deal by replacing damaged brickwork, the whole house was filthy, bathrooms not been cleaned Tec.I could go on but this is about the Agent.we advised the Agent on the Saturday that we were not happy and couldn't believe he had signed off on a checkout leaving my house in such a state.the pictures he took looked like he hadn't even entered the rooms and he didn't even notice the electrics that had been installed.basically he told us that if we weren't happy,we had to claim through TDS as he had signed off on it.all in all,we have lost money by way of cleaning, decorating, replacing and the TDS sided with the tenant as the check out report did not mention any of our arguments.if Farrell Hayworth had better standards and actually did their jobs better,we wouldn't have had to claim with the TDS.we also think it was down to the fact that the tenants were buying a house through the sales side and Paul Hearne didn't want to upset the tenants.either that or he was in financial gain from the tenants.either way I would definitely not recommend using Farrell Hayworth in Bolton.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Come to the property, talk to me in person, see the fence from my side, and then discuss the need for repairs or not. That is all I wanted. I am their neighbour, they should deal with me people like human beings instead of property files to be \"managed\".
Farrell Heywroth manage and maintain the property next door to me. We both havea 50% ownership of a fence at the back. This is in desparate need of repair. The agent took over 4 weeks to contact and get get a reply from their landlord. They were thrn supposed to asses the fence for their landlord. They took pictures from their one side - their side. They filed a biased report to the landlord without any surveyancing or builders advice and stated it was safe and didn't need repairs. But in actual fact two of the panels had snapped in half. One panel was held up with a piece of wood nailed across it and another wedged into the post to hold it up. They never took permission to take the photos from me, refused to show me the report/photographs, were then rude on the phone stating "as far as we're concerned you can complain". Worst of all they have ill advised their landlord to not make repairs which could lead to damage on our joint property and injuries to residents and visitors. The repair work will eventually cost even more in the future. They are incompetent, unprofessional, rude, and should not be used ever!
