We were looking for a 2 bed flat in the fulham and parsons green area. Our sales criteria was 2 equal sized bedrooms, large kitchen area and outside space. Our initial contact with Douglas & Gordon was with Micky Singh who off his own initiative showed us a property which was just out of our budget, but which we loved the location of, matched our criteria and which we have since completed the sale of. Between Micky and Tom Cope and Tom's recommendation of solicitor we managed to complete the sale within the very tight time scales for the stamp duty holiday and i would not hesitate to recommend Micky and D & G to any prospective buyers in the Fulham area

From start to finish this agent has been incompetent. Mistake after mistake in the initial contract, each time jovially chalked down to a 'typo'.
They claimed not to have received a payment made and upon proving otherwise no apology was received.
Viewing requests are frequently also made with just an hour or two notice, although this was the least of our problems with them.
The tone of the employee dealing with our correspondence was rude, patronising and demeaning. Clearly at D&G they believe their customers are idiots. This is an odd strategy as it simply serves to put people off using them again. I know I certainly will never deal with D&G again.

We recently let a lovely property through this estate agent and had a very positive experience. Our main contact was Poppy who was delightful. I was impressed with the high end properties that this agency had on there books. Being new to the area we found Poppy extremely informative driving us around the area explaining locations, nearest transport links and good restaurants etc. We also dealt briefly with Camilla who was very efficient.

This agency is best avoided. Lesson learned. I should have read reviews for Douglas & Gordon before dealing with them. This was an eye opening experience for newcomers to the UK.
Unfortunately, from the start, we were mislead by this agency. We made the mistake of trusting that the agency would operate in an ethical manner.
In the end, we ran into issues from misleading information about a parking spot which was no longer included with the unit, as well as Douglas & Gordon expecting 7 months of rent paid upfront.
This information was not disclosed to us before Douglas & Gordon took our deposit even though I had asked the agent if there was a chance we could experience problems. The eagerness and urgency with which the agent and branch manager took my credit card details led me to trust that they knew what they were doing.
After a week long email and phone battle, we managed to get back part of our deposit.
As a manager, I can see several ways this situation could have been turned around and would have generated a bigger profit for Douglas & Gordon than hanging onto part of our holding deposit.
Instead, they lost our business and a good referral. Although from what I have seen posted already, we may just consider ourselves lucky. It seems things get worse once you becomes an actual tenant linked to this agency.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Call to reschedule the appointment knowing they were going to be late or were not going to be able to make it. Call me back when I requested some other capable person to show me the property. They never called back. Apologise for the way they treated a customer.

I requested a viewing via D&G website. A letting agent contacted me the following day to arrange a viewing. We agreed on a day and time. I arrived at the property on time and the person who was supposed to show me the property was not there yet. I waited 5 minutes and I called the office number they had texted me. A woman answered the phone and mentioned 'Kitty' had left their office 10 minutes ago and should be arriving shortly. 'Kitty' arrived 15 minutes later with two other customers and, even though she was already 15 minutes late to our appointment asked me to wait outside while she first showed the property to the other customers. So, not only nobody called me ahead of the appointment to reschedule but also they made me wait and gave priority to another viewers. I called the office again to complain and then complain to this 'Kitty' woman, she did not apologise and started giving excuses and putting a show, she took me inside the property, was in a rush, did not even turn on the lights or showed me the various rooms at all. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any real estate agent. I have worked and lived in many countries, I myself own property and deal with real estate agents and this one is the worst. Lack of professionalism, lack of accountability and courtesy.
