Had a VERY bad experience with Barnard Marcus especially with one of their ''Lettings Branch Manager'' Charlie from the Worcester Park branch. We were highly interested in one of their properties advertised on ZOOPLA, which we immediately requested to do a viewing for. After signing documents, including documents giving our consent to do the necessary checks, we have paid a holding deposit of £496 for a property they decided to put online again without notifying us. It gets worse. After doing the checks and after paying the holding deposit, we were told that we don't ''earn enough'' for this property so we would require a guarantor who could cover the rent. Now, prior to signing all agreements including our moving in date on the 15th of June, we have been asked what our gross annual salary was - between myself and my partner which was at that time, more than enough otherwise we wouldn't have agreed to anything. After doing all necessary checks, they then concluded that we were £4000 short annually. Based on this we ''weren't able'' to afford the house as they concluded this by calculating our salary after tax which is obviously less than our gross. No rocket science is needed for this BUT hey ho, were dealing with a salesman. This leaves me with the question: WHY haven't they asked us what our salary would be after expenses? We could've made our own calculations prior to agreeing to anything. However, they have taken that opportunity away from us by taking our money and letting us sign for situations we could've avoided by asking very simple questions - and that's coming from the ''Lettings Branch Manager'' ????? - So before you decide to rent from them, please ensure you ask the right questions as they might slip you through an agreement you end up regretting or worse, they take money away from people ''who can't afford houses''. You'll also end up being ignored by different agents - or they try to recall their statements in emails to cover their own ass. Now thats teamwork! AVOID.

For a first time buyer, having someone like Chelsey on hand was very encouraging especially given the current market conditions. Whilst you can go to various comparison sites. there is nothing like speaking to someone face to face with first hand experience and getting a better understanding of not only the mortgages out there but also the buying process. I would recommend Chelsey to any first time buyer or any buyer in fact as she helps put you at ease and is always willing to help should you have any questions.

Not even for a minute do they think of your well being eventhough they may tell u this again again!
The team at Worcester Park are well known for a bad reputation as I have contacted other peopl whom has used them!
Do not even think of using their financial advisor Matthew Sherlock he will rob you an try to sell you a load of nonsense.. Use you own solicitors they will instantly have their solicitors 'blacks direct' contact you but your better off finding your own, as they are all thieves! I was threaten that if I didn't use their financial advisor for the mortgage I will lose the house! How ever I had my own finances sorted! I put off through and it was accepted! 3 weeks later I get a call that property sold! For 35,000 less than what I was offering, asked why.. Because they buyer used them! I spoke to them the day before they phoned to tell me this and they didn't even tell me that this was going on! When I spoke to them they kept telling me all is fine! I have my solicitors involved.. But look what they did to me! All for their commission! I even had over 77% deposit!
Would not recommend them to anyone! Similar story happened to a lady whom is living in Worcester park, she was looking at buying a house in Raynes Park! She was on alot of pressure to get a mortgage through them, they told her that the owner wants this! .. At then end her husband had a go at them and decided he didn't want to deal with idiots! ..
Remember the names Matthew Sherlock, Justin, Dale!
No one thinks of you it's all about Commission!
They will threaten to ruin deal... And have been known to! Better off avoiding them.. Dnt think of using them.. Not worth the stress!

We ended our tenancy on 6th November 2010 and are still waiting for our deposit back. Each time I rang, the person who deals with our letting wasn't available and of course she never rang back or replied to my emails. I finally found out that the landlord was supposed to write to BM to tell them the deposit can be released, BM said they don't get involved with this it is down to the tenant to chase the landlord. If somebody had returned my call JUST ONCE!! I would have found this out weeks ago. I spoke to my old landlord a few days ago, he said he thought we had our money back in November & I told him I was still waiting. They tell me they applied for it to be released on 7/1/11 so perhaps I will finally get it! I did ring head office as I was given a name to direct my complaint to but she was just as bad & kept interrupting me to point out that they don't get involved with various issues. In other words she really wasn't interested. How can you put somebody in charge of complaints who doesn't even allow you to get it off your chest and have your say. She said email it to her & she will ensure it goes to Sutton Branch area manager (yeah I bet!!!!!!!)
