My experience with William H Brown has been disgraceful from start to finish. The extremely poor experience with this agency is the reason I left the property. Initially, the team within the Barnsley branch appeared extremely helpful, this was until I had paid the fee's and committed to the contract. After this point, there was nothing but problems, lies & deceit. The first problem was that the agency kept pushing back the date that I could collect the keys to move into the property. I was promised 3 separate dates & 8 days after the initial date I was finally able to move in. Within the first month, I had 3 separate call-outs for the boiler. Each time with a response from the contractor of "The agency didn't pay me enough to fix the entire thing". I had to endure having a bucket under the boiler, to catch leaking water for 3 weeks until William H Brown would arrange the final contractor. After 2 months at the property, William H Brown contacted me, attempting to get me to commit to another 6 months contract on the house. I informed them I was not yet ready to make my decision, as I had only spent 2 months in the house and was not sure. This would have been an easier decision if there were not a large cost for the contract fee's from William H Brown every 6 months. I was "pestered" by William H Brown, with daily telephone calls & emails, this was very disruptive to my life as they rang during work hours. Multiple times a day. After 2 weeks of enduring this, I decided NOT to continue with the house, not because I didn't like the property - but due to the fact that the agency obviously had no commitment to the tenant. After informing William H Brown that I would not be continuing with the tenancy - they responded requesting me to allow people to view the property while I still had 2 and a half months left on my contract. I informed them that I was unhappy with allowing people viewing the house while I was a tenant as I had personal possessions at the property & I could not commit to a specific time due to work. They continued to push for me to "Drop the keys off" at the Barnsley branch so they could conduct viewings while I was not there. After 2 weeks of declining this, I received very threatening emails & letters from William H Brown in regards to "Breaching Contract" and "Informing the landlord". Going forward, I agreed to allow viewings of the property - in the last month of my tenancy. William H Brown did not send a representative and left it up to me to demonstrate the house & guide people around. I found this extremely disrespectful as I do not work for William H Brown, it was not my job or my role to sell the property to the next tenant. Finally, after I had vacated the property - I thought the nightmare was over, I was completely wrong. It had only just started. William H Brown are currently trying to dispute a large portion of my deposit for non-sense reasons, such as "Deep Cleaning" of the kitchen. Not going into specifics, but William H Brown are trying to charge me for the removal of items which were left at the property by the landlord & also general maintenance which should be conducted by the landlord & agency, such as the painting of outside doors & cleaning of extraction fans (this was never used by me in the entire occupancy). After trying to negotiate which the agency & landlord, without any movement I have had to raise this to a dispute & this will more than likely end in small claims. Based on my experience over the last 6 months, I highly recommend you avoid William H Brown by all means. This is the worst agency which I have ever dealt with.

The first 4 viewings - all no shows. The only viewing they managed was seen through Rightmove.
Sold the house through a colourful online agent and had numerous viewings via their website.
WH Browns refused to take down my advert once the house was SSC and now getting interested buyers knocking on my door.
My advice is don't touch them and use another agent and avoid a life of pain and hours of wasted time

I have written to William H Brown Barnsley to make an official compliant. on the 2nd February I emailed to take our property off sale, and rang to confirm. I am then to find that William H Brown has continued to show people around our home as the potential buyer left her handbag in our home today. This is clearly an invasion of privacy, and is simply disgusting. We had no warning or notification that anyone was going to be let into our home, or i would of re-iterated that it is NOT for sale and to not let anybody in.
I asked Sarah if someone could drop off the keys to our home and she said 'it wasn't in her job description' I have honestly never met staff as unhelpful as your branch.
You overvalued our home at £135,000 of which Sarah Rang me 5/6 to constantly lower the price as she then found homes for sale in my area weren't selling for the price of £135,000. It is your job to value our home, which was clearly done incorrectly.
I have warned the branch if they enter our home without consent, I will notify the police.

My experience with William H Brown has been disgraceful from start to finish.
The extremely poor experience with this agency is the reason I left the property.
Initially, the team within the Barnsley branch appeared extremely helpful, this was until I had paid the fee's and committed to the contract.
After this point, there was nothing but problems, lies & deceit.

I've never had a problem with Jamie Leigh's service when we've needed to contact her ref an issue.
We originally got conned into a 3yr lease because I had a dog.
Not a problem happy here.
I contacted ref lease renewal in Jan 2018 asking for a rolling tenancy, to be trapped into another 2 or 3 yr lease with only 18 days notice to find else where if this not acceptable.
Then we get told we need a property inspection and they send the most snoty cow they can find who talks down to my sister who's recovering from being hospital.
Then with 6 days before the tendency ends we now have someone demanding renewal fees of £114 which have never been mentioned previously in contact ref contract renewal.
I think it's disgusting to charge this amount to existing good tenants who pay there rent and never give problems for printing a few sheets of A4 paper!!!

Previously the branch were very helpful with making arrangements to let our property. They found a number of excellent prospective tenants which made letting our property very easy.

Always insist on knocking your price down. Pictures well they werent giving property justice and when i phoned to update photos took 3 weeks to come out even then they kept some of old photos on it. So in 2016 we took it off market. July 2017 we put our property up with Hunters and in August we sold it. Would never recommend William h Brown Barnsley to anyone

Their attempt to find new tenants has been worse than poor - no communication, slow response, dreadful admin and repeats of the same mistakes. A shambles of an organisation.
