We initially put an offer on a house in Rickmansworth, which was accepted by the seller despite our house not being on the market and us not being proceedable buyers. To make the transaction smoother, we decided to sell our house through the same agent, with an agreement in place that the seller's house would not be shown to anyone else and that our offer would stand exclusively.

My experience with Gibbs Gillespie in Rickmansworth was extremely disappointing and frustrating. We initially put an offer on a house in Rickmansworth, which was accepted by the seller despite our house not being on the market and us not being proceedable buyers. To make the transaction smoother, we decided to sell our house through the same agent, with an agreement in place that the seller's house would not be shown to anyone else and that our offer would stand exclusively.
However, the agent's conduct throughout the process was unprofessional and lacking in transparency. Despite valuing our house and going live with it, we went several weeks without any viewings. After reducing our house price by £100k as advised by the agent, we still didn't receive any interest, despite our property's desirable location and excellent condition.
Despite numerous conversations with the agent about our situation, at no point did they give us the impression that they were showing the house we had made an offer on. Eventually, the agent suggested another £75k reduction, which would have made the transaction unaffordable for us.
Feeling conscious of the seller's time, we decided to withdraw our offer and take our house off the market. To our dismay, we discovered that the house we had made an exclusive offer on was sold the day after we withdrew our offer. This clearly indicates that the agent was showing the house behind our backs, despite our agreement.
When confronted, the agent initially denied their actions but later admitted to showing the house without informing us. This behavior is not only untrustworthy but also demonstrates a lack of integrity and professionalism.
In conclusion, my experience with Gibbs Gillespie in Rickmansworth was extremely disappointing. Their poor conduct, lack of transparency, and untrustworthy behavior have left me deeply dissatisfied. I would not recommend their services to anyone seeking a reliable and ethical real estate agent.

I found the staff at Gibbs Gillespie in Rickmansworth to be very helpful and professional when renting our apartment. They ensured we were informed each time a prospective tenant requested a viewing and I also received a confirmation email of the visit so that I could keep track of how many people viewed the apartment. Rental of the property was very quick after Ashley and Isaac utilised Gibbs Gillespie's extensive database (one of the reasons they were recommended to us by a friend) and ensured that they found a suitable tenant for our penthouse apartment. I would definitely recommend Gibbs Gillespie if you are thinking of renting your property out and will no doubt be using them in the future again myself.

My tenant gave notice recently and a new tenant was found in a matter of days, I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley, Stuart and Isaac Wren who have worked hard to secure the new tenancy.

Satisfactory service. Photos taken to advertise the flat were excellent. The property was let reasonably quickly, but for £50-£75 less per month than we were originally advised would be achievable 6 months previously, even though the property was unaltered, and no market factors were given as reasons for this lower amount, so this was disappointing. Communication has been prompt, staff have always been available and generally the process has from marketing to letting has gone smoothly. The inventory at check in is less detailed than I have experienced receiving from other agents for other properties.

I did feel fees were a little excessive - £400 for preparing a tenancy agreement which appeared to be essentially a template with a few details changed. The agent was expensive but not extortionately so.

I had a great experience with both Casey and Penny. Penny was also my point of contact and was always friendly and coming back to me when needed!
I can definitely say I recommend both of them and recommend therefore working with Gibbs Gillespie as I felt I was in the hands of professionals that were very understanding of my situation!
