AVOID Selby William H Brown. Our experience with William H Brown in Selby was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. They consistently failed to adhere to the standards laid out in the Property Ombudsman’s Code of Practice, which left us feeling unheard and unsupported. Despite multiple attempts to address issues directly with the branch, including misleading information and ignored complaints, nothing was resolved. I was ultimately forced to report them to the Property Ombudsman to address their behavior, as they showed no accountability and disregarded basic standards of customer care. The Property Ombudsman upheld our complaint and William H Brown had to pay compensation. I would strongly advise avoiding this agency if you expect transparency or professional service.

I selected William Brown as they initially seemed to say all the right things. Unfortunately after that it went rapidly downhill. I selected William Brown as they initially seemed to say all the right things.
Unfortunately after that it went rapidly downhill.
Mainly a lack of communication, unbelievably poor prep of property details, layout, photos etc.
When we had some issues with a potential buyer instead of trying to help overcome the issues they actually made them worse and ultimately actually lied.
We did manage to sell our house but only because our buyer and ourselves worked together to make it happen. The only time William Brown re appeared was when they wanted paying.
I complained but it was a flawed process so little benefit.
I wish I hadn't paid but I just wanted to move on. I hope that in the new world of online estate agents where the weak won't survive this branch goes the way of the dinasaurs. Online is 100% the future.

Was dealing with Sammy and was fairly satisified as she kept me udated and usually got back to me at some point during the day with info. However when dealing with a Sales Negotiator called Dan he didn't seem to know what he was either saying or doing, spoke to you like you were an idiot when... Read Full Review

Was dealing with Sammy and was fairly satisified as she kept me udated and usually got back to me at some point during the day with info. However when dealing with a Sales Negotiator called Dan he didn't seem to know what he was either saying or doing, spoke to you like you were an idiot when asking simple questions (which amused me a little) and never got back to you with info you requested. Shame after a good first impression!

Our experience with William H Brown has been dreadful - I would never EVER deal with them again, and would certainly not recommend them. On making an initial enquiry, Kelvin (Branch Manager) promised the earth - a list of people wanting a property 'just like this', regular updates and a promise that all members of his team will visit the property to ensure they can best advise potential buyers. All sounds great.
Almost four months on, and we've had ONE phone call from the agent. ONE agent to visit and only ONE viewing. When I've queried this with the branch, they promised to contact us weekly... that was three weeks ago, and still ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
I've recently discussed the price with them in order to get more viewings, they suggested lowering the price by 10% - a drastic drop to say we've only been on the market for nearly four months, but then i realised this is due to their fee being based on the valuation price, not the final selling price... so its not in their interest to 'sell high'.
The staff have been disinterested, vague and verging on rude. I have never come across a team of people that are so unprofessional.
I wish I'd researched our options more beforehand - I would never have used William H Brown if I'd realised how appalling the service was going to be. Very, very disappointing.
Having phoned a few agents since signing with WHB, it seems their tie-in period is longer than most, as 20 weeks. I really hope we don't sell over the next few weeks, as nothing will give me greater pleasure than phoning them to collect their board and end our contract.
DREADFUL DOES NOT COME CLOSE TO DESCRIBING HOW POOR WILLIAM H BROWN HAVE BEEN.
