Utterly disgusted with Shipways Kidderminster, who following a valuation of my elderly mother's home and the young lady who came round to visit said 'don't worry we will soon sell this'. For over a year only sent less than a handful of potential buyers round, most of whom had not had the property details explained to them by the agent. A waste of money using this agent as all they want is properties to put in their window, with no intention of putting in any effort to sell the proprety. A complete waste of time and full of false hope. Not an ideal agent to use if you have an elderly cancer patient. Shipways need to realise, not everyone has time to waste like they do!!!

Thoroughly dissatisfied with their performance from start to finish. My proposed purchase of a flat collapsed after my conveyancing solicitors told me they were still waiting for a full copy of the lease from the seller's solicitors (three months after a price was agreed). I contacted Shipways and asked if they could help obtain a full copy of the lease from the seller and they told me it was 'missing'. When I complained about not being informed of this sooner they simply leapt to the seller's defence, saying she had done everything asked of her. After I pulled out of the sale I received a very curt acknowledgement email from the agent. Also, while I was competing with another family to buy the flat initially, Shipways used a closed bidding system and called me repeatedly to pressure me into upping my bid, even though I had exceeded the asking price and told them I would not be increasing my offer. When I asked for any new information which may help guide me in considering whether to make an increased bid they refused to tell me anything and simply kept asking if I wanted to raise my offer - when I had already told them no consistently - which was stressful. Based on my experience I will never use Shipways again.

Tiny little expenses pop out here and there and they were never fully explained to me from the start. They don't want to spend money or even ask the landlords to get issues sorted.

Would rather have their tenants living in a house full of black mould which is what the landlord wanted instead of pushing him to get this potential health threatening issue sorted! All about money money money, will NOT be using this agent or landlord ever again once my contract on this house is finished.

All the time we had to call them to ask about progress and any documents if needed. I would recommend to avoid this agency because twice we applied through this agency and both houses were declined. First time was advertised through Shipways and next time they promised they were good and not like others.

Jade has recently taken over from several other coordinators that we have had since Amy left. To say that she was, 'thrown' into the deep-end was an understatement. Jade had to do a lot of 'homework' to get up to speed with not only my property information -- BUT -- with several others now under Her control. Since she has taken over, she has proved herself to be VERY MUCH up to any task that I have given to her. Jade came into looking after my apartment at the sudden changeover of tenants. There was some 'problems' with the changeover and, Jade handled ALL this situation without any problems at all. She managed the 'disagreement' of the way the property was left in a very professional and most positive way, to the final agreement of all parties involved. I am very pleased with her attitude and the way she communicates with me both over the telephone and emails and sincerely hope that Jade will become (as she all ready has proved at least to me) a long and most worthy member of the Team. I would not recommend this agent. I was initially unsure whether to sell my flat but did put it on the market due to their (as it turned out) over-inflated valuation. There was very little interest at the start. Their fees are very expensive so I could not afford to drop the price as much as they later told me to. They kept telling me that they had a wonderful database but there was still no interest. I was tied in to a twenty week contract and after I had handed my notice in they took my flat off their books, including Rightmove, even though my contract was not up. Some of the staff were rude and defensive despite the fact that I was always polite to them. I did not wish to pay them any commission due to their pack of professionalism. However, Jodie was very pleasant and helpful. Thank you.

we own another rental property managed by a different letting agency who's costs come in at about the same cost. the difference being that a quarterly inspection takes place with them - compared to that of once a year by shipways - and a lot can happen during such a long period of time! if it was'nt for the fact that robert does such a brilliant job we would be tempted to alter the letting agent.

Back in January 2014, I purchased an apartment in Kidderminster. I wanted to rent this out and I did a lot of calling and visiting around the area, to find an Agent who could help me in this matter. I also did a lot of 'homework' on these Agents, beforehand. When I finally called on 'Shipways' and met Tom Hailes he answered all My questions with ease and full knowledge of his profession and, more importantly, with the knowledge of the area that he worked in. He advised me on a suitable, realistic and acceptable rent to be charged. Again, when I asked him about cover and legal insurances that I wanted, (after the homework I had done in the past), he obliged by 'phoning around to get me the best deal, at the time. From then on, I instructed Tom Hailes to 'take-on' my apartment and market it for me. He did so - AND - within a very short time (only a few days pasted), he found me a very suitable tenant. He arranged a then, short term contract without any fuss. I am now in my third term of contract with him, with the same tenant and, even when we had some 'problems' with the main Developers, he was always there to step-in to help me (and my tenant), in my absences without any hesitation. I do realise that some people would say, He is only 'doing' his job but nothing seemed to be any trouble for him and, I feel that without his help and advice, things may have been a lot more difficult for the Both of us. I am so very pleased to have chosen Tom and his Team and hope for a long and happy business relationship in the future. Mrs Carol Johnson.

Encouraged to use their in house financial adviser and solicitor as this would be a smoother and more effective option and ensure a smooth sale. Er no instead it has cost us at least a £600 to set up a mortgage in principle, when deciding not to take out the mortgage we are told this money is non refundable. An independent adviser would not have charged such a fee!!!!! So all in all we have lost money trying to sell our house. Misled on possible move dates!! Manager even put the phone down on us when we tried to complain re: misleading advice! Obviously great customer service skills.
