My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Brigfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.
Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request.

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Brigfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back. Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request. An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch. Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response. They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit. Unforgivable of Brigfords - avoid at all costs.

Booked in for a valuation of our property. Took time off work. Was reconfirmed by a member of the branch in Alderley Edge 30mins after booking it. Day comes for valuation and they don't turn up. When I called, I was told it was cancelled by then the same day. No confidence in them being able to sell our property if they can't handle a simple valuation booking and so going elsewhere.

Really poor service. Initially the property was marketed by the Wilmslow branch, and was first sold STC just prior to lockdown 1. We heard very little from the agents apart from a reassurance that our purchasers were still keen to go ahead with the purchase. Several months on, and only as a result of phoning our buyers' solicitor, we found out that our buyer had put a hold on the purchase. Had we known we may have asked the agent to put the property back on the market. Eventually the sale fell through, and (to be fair) the agent quickly found another potential purchaser, but after the first viewing we then started a dialogue with this purchaser as communication with the agent became extremely problematic. It became even worse when the Wilmslow branch closed and business was transferred to the Alderley Edge branch. We were assured that it would be a seamless transition, but communication was appalling. For instance, they only informed us that the sale had been completed and we needed to make arrangements for the keys to be dropped off, several days after completion had taken place and several days after we had dropped the keys off, having found out through our solicitors when completion was due. The only thing that the agent did speedily was to send the invoice for their services. While the invoice was for the original amount quoted, we contested it because we felt that the service had been so poor. They did offer us £100 off as a goodwill gesture, but this we felt was a derisory amount, given the level of work we had to put in ourselves to advance our sale.
