The agent should have informed us there was another offer going in from the investor so we had the chance of Best and Final, --- they did not . They should have advised their client of our serious interest and allowed dialogue - they did not . They should have served their vendor better and allowed free enterprise, the investor put in 4 offer 3 rejected we put in one and were ever given the option to rebid on the same day!
They did not communicate with us we chased them ! The junior member of staff was brilliant but unavailable and did not make the final decisions very poorly managed !

We wanted to a propert there was another interested. Buyer (an investor a regular buyer with them) he had put in several low offers we only had the chance to put in one offer but it was a serious on and we thought the winning bid as advised the level by estate agent. The manager took our bid and then the investor added a further bid significantly above ours to put to the vendor, guess what we were not asked for best and final offers , we were not communicated with. After chasing the agent 2 days later we were told from the manager that the house was sold and there was a gentlemans agreement in place as of the day we submitted, our bid was lower because the investor was allowed to put a final offer in and We were not ! uNFAIR and very dodgy !! The vendor has lost out, and so I would never use this agent to buy or sell ever again . Unethical!

My husband and I very recently rented a property through Bridgfords in Cheadle Hulme. I was not at all comfortable about signing an inventory before I had moved into the property. I had viewed the property some 7 weeks earlier but was not given the opportunity to check the property was in order prior to signing the inventory. Having never rented before, I thought the process would be to walk round the property with one of their negotiators and we could both record any issues/faults. No faults were recorded on their inventory and it was up to us to inform them of any . I cannot understand why problems/existing damage is not brought to a tenants attention. We have encountered a major problem which was not brought to our attention. I have reported a couple of issues to them which have been there since our move in, but three weeks later nothing has been sorted. After this experience I will not be renting through Bridgfords again.
Once you are signed up the staff don't really want to be dealing with any problems you have. One of my problems could probably be solved if a particular member of staff came out to the property and gave me some guidance.
I have only just found out about this website from another agent so I thought I would share my experience.

Manners cost nothing - politeness over the telephone is a must and many in the office require re-training at bridgfords. They believe their client to be the landlord, which is a misnoma. Both tenant and landlord are their client and they should treat them with equal respect.

Awful. Awful. Awful. We constantly had to chase the agent for information relating to the property and they ignored questions relating to work promised to be done by the landlord, which was not done. They provided us with an inventory that was wholly incorrect and I had to spend a whole day listing the incorrect details in it. It was disgusting that we were charged for it also. On the day we moved in and realised the works had not been done, I telephoned their office and was met with a rude and condescending agent whose attitude towards me as a tenant was terrible - as if he was doing me a huge favour. Tenants and Landlords alike, be warned: do not use Bridgfords.
