I have had an amazing experience with Barnard Marcus; I am first time renter and was very nervous as I wasn’t quite sure how the rent process goes and wanted to ensure I found the right home.
I have had bad experience with other estate agencies where they just kept sending any properties available over to me, overloading my emails and never took in what I was really looking for but with Barnard Marcus it was different, I spoke to a very friendly and welcoming Letting Negotiator Cameron on the phone at the streatham Branch and he patiently took me through the rent process, understood I was a first time renter and made me really relaxed; took all the stress out of finding a property and took the time and went an extra mile to help me find the right properties to view and potentially rent that matched exactly what I was looking for.
I am so happy that I made the right decision to contact Barnard Marcus (Streatham Branch) as I am really confident in this company due to the outstanding service from the staff in the letting department and can’t thank them enough for really helping me and going that extra mile.

As a landlord represented by Barnard Marcus, I concur with the tenant who said that they are only interested in getting the contract signed, but very poor at resolving issues arising after the tenant has moved in. I have also been very disappointed on several occasions to find that my tenants' issues have remained unresolved, sometimes for months. Our agent keeps on changing without any proper handover - the new one never knows what went on before. I don't think the company cares at all about the tenants' experience - after all, it's even better for them if the tenants move out after a year, because then they get paid again to find new tenants!

Helpful in finding a flat, but next to useless once you've signed the tenancy agreement and moved in.
There were numerous issues with the flat that we realised once we'd moved in, e.g. doors that didn't close or were coming off their hinges, windows that didn't open, the sink filling up with water when the dishwasher started, missing light bulbs etc.
We raised all these problems with Barnard Marcus as soon as we could, but more than a month later absolutely nothing has been done. The communication is terrible and it feels as if we have been put right to the back of the queue.
Extremely disappointing.

I am a property professional and it happens I am looking to buy. I arranged a viewing with Mitcham branch and was treated as either a student looking to rent HMO or a DSS person! They clearly haven't noticed that are dealing with a potential buyer with by the way decent deposit and no chain, who clearly wants to view the property and secure a deal ASAP. On a contrary the agent didn't show up. When I called waiting outside to ask who is meeting me I was advised that their colleague will be with me in 5 min. When I called again to follow up I was advised that the agent left the property for another viewing already and in a rude manner was asked: “He has keys so what do you want me to do about it?!†Not that I have been offered to re-arrange a viewing as I haven't. Unprofessional rude agents who discouraged me not only from the agency but from viewing the property! All property owners please be warned DO NOT instruct Barnard Marcus unless you have no other choice – they may lose a prospective buyer. I don't trust them now to make an offer through them as I am concerned that they won't deal with it in a professional manner. I will shop around else ware!

Just sold for the first time using Barnard Marcus. Found the experience really easy and as stress free as possible!
