As a landlord I have used Nelsons for lettings since 2007 and have only good things to say about them. They have always been down to earth and honest, which are two qualities that I have always appreciated. I recently used them to sell my property, which they did within 24 hours. I couldn't be happier with the service that I have received.

This agency has been absolutely useless since the day we started our rental contract. We have a lot of problems with our landlord (and she has huge problems with the agency as well). We've been calling and visiting the agency for months now, trying to get these issues resolved, but the person in charge always seems 'busy' or 'not available' and will always 'call us back' up to now, we still haven't been able to speak to the person in charge, and we're now facing eviction due to their errors.
But all this doesn't seem to be of any importance to this agency and they keep ignoring us in any way possible.
Hopefully this way I can get some attention from higher management (have been trying to Google them, but without any succes) and get these issues resolved as soonest.

Me and my flatmate rented a property through nelsons a year ago in Clapham. We viewed several properties but settled on one that we were happy with. The flat was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. After we had put in an offer and it was accepted, the agent called us and said that the tenants living in the flat extended their move date to a month later as they could not find another flat in time! This then made our current situation tricky as we would be homeless for over a month! Even though it wasn't Matt's fault, he quickly negotiated with the tenants and found them somewhere else to move in sooner so we could move into the flat when we needed to which was amazing because we loved the flat and didn't want to lose it. We we're then asked to pay a second week holding and agents fees to confirm the lease and send our documents for referencing, which took around 5 days in total. Overall the experience we have had with nelsons has been positive and I have recommended others to them and Matt in particular who have also been happy with his service. If I move again, I will definitely be calling Nelsons to help.

What agent could do to change your mind?
At this point, it is obvious that this doesn\'t need feedback as they basically broke basic management rules with such indecency. If they need feedback on this, I don\'t give them much time to stay afloat with such a bad behaviour.

I don't know where to start knowing how our experience as tenants has been a nightmare from the beginning to the end.
1 - Nelsons gave us the wrong keys on the day of the moving into the flat. I ended up in front of the door, with a wrong key, all of my belongings with me at 11pm not able to get in. I was lucky enough that the neighbour helped me not to sleep in the hallway.
2 - The heating was off when we moved in (in January). Therefore, we've had to wait an entire week without heating nor hot water before Nelson's finally sent someone to turn it on.
3 - We've had many visits in the flat without any prior information nor agreement.
4, AND MOST SHOCKING - We have always paid every 1st of every month the total amount of our rent, we have never been late on any payment (I have every one of my bank statements to prove it). However, after 3 months of tenancy, Nelson's contacted us and accused us of not paying the rent. I then sent them every one of my bank statements since we moved in proving that we've always been paying it on time, once again, every 1st of every month. My flatmate who visited Nelsons' office to understand the situation experienced a very cold greeting and was asked to leave the office immediatly very rudely (by Irfan, the director) in front of the staff.
As soon as I sent the evidences of our payments, Nelsons stopped all contact with us even after I sent them 3 emails asking for their acknowledgment on the situation (you can imagine how stressed we were about these horrible accusations). Since then, the communication from Nelsons became completely inexistant, until we received a letter of eviction from them!
5 - Nelsons never contacted us to arrange the inventory checkout in our presence. They obviously decided to do it on their own terms which is unacceptable.
6 - After more than a month without our deposit back after we moved out and my daily attempts to contact Nelson's as we couldn't get in touch with the landlord, a manager named Matt was supposed to call me back about this 4 different times and never did! Until a girl actually gave me the landlord's details and that's when we actually understood the situation and were shocked to hear that the landlord was still waiting the inventory checkout from Nelson's. In conclusion, as usual, Nelsons has been very unprofessional by ignoring us all along until we finally spoke with the landlord.
In conclusion, and because we are now in contact with the landlord, we are outraged by the amount of lies Nelson's has been telling her. Irfan, the director, told her we were not paying the rent for 3 months and even explained a fictive story about one of us struggling with money! I proved to the landlord as well that we've always been paying on time and she is now as shocked as we are. This story ended with us being evicted without any reason and our landlord thinking we were thieves. This is unacceptable.
Also, we've been informed by the landlord that the new tenants of the flat are facing the same problems. While they've paid their deposit and first month rent, the landlord never received the money and try to contact Nelson's. Clever enough, they reached the tenants because they were doubting. They then received proves of every payment on time by the tenants. So were was the money Nelson's? Even if you have 5 bank account, you should be able to sort this out, it is your job and your priority. People get evicted because of you.
We are not thanking you!
Never use them.

I couldn't have wished for a better experience. The staff were great, I went on several viewings with Matt, all of which were on time and fantastic finds. Irfan was great at returning my calls if Matt was out of the office. Once I had picked our chosen property to rent, the process was really smooth. Leo was very attentive. Jaz dealt with my paperwork and there were no problems. Estate agents tend to have a stale atmosphere, but Nelsons was a really friendly atmosphere and a great service. Ill definitely go back there again if I need to move or are looking to buy.

When I moved to London in Jan last year I never realised how stressful looking for a property would be. I was messed around by other agents in Clapham and incompetent staff where handling my case.
On the off chance I saw an add on Gumtree for another property which matched my requirement so I called the agent who's name was Leo. He was kind and actually listened to what I had say what's a first! He told me he was very busy but found the time to fit me in for a viewing what I was very grateful for and was actually after closing time!
He was an excellent person to deal with and he went the extra mile to ensure I was happy. I signed up for the property without hesitation and it's been an excellent easy experience ever since!

Firstly our move-in monies were miscalculated as they had 'forgotten' that we had paid part of it a month before and we had to prove this to them rather than them checking their records. The next problem started with us picking up the keys from the office on the move in day when we were asked if we knew about the hole in the ceiling in one of the bedrooms - we had viewed the flat a month before and this didn't exist then. We were assured at this point that the plastering would be painted over in the coming week along with the rest of flat - 45 days later it still hasn't been done. However, this was only the beginning of our continuing troubles with Nelsons. Upon arriving in the flat in November we found there to be no heating or hot water - we contacted them the next day and were assured it to be fixed the next day - in fact it took 4 days before we had any heating or hot water in the middle of winter with no rush to get this sorted despite numerous correspondences with Jaz. This should have been checked before our move-in and is in breach of the assured shortholod tenancy agreement. Within a week of moving in, our Gas Safety Certificate ran out - and it was about a week before it was redone - this is a criminal offence (gas certs should be renewed within 12 months). Shortly after this our boiler began to leak and lose pressure which again took 3 days before anything was fixed - they kept claiming the gas engineer would be contacting us to arrange a time to come to the flat. The walls have considerable damp and this was due to be painted over/replastered within the first week of our tenancy - but despite us regularly enquiring when these works were going ahead we received no correspondences with any specific dates, and even after going to their office the would say that they are waiting on quotes and it will be underway soon. Coincidentally, a builder arrived 2 hours later after visiting the office with no prior warning (should be given 24 hours notice) and he checked for 3 minutes to assess the work needed doing. We waited to hear about this work being done but still 45 days into our tenancy have absolutely no idea when it will be carried out. Moreover, we have had direct correspondence from our landlord (who lets Nelsons manage his property) who has shown an equal disappoint in Nelsons and has asked them to up their game, however, we are yet to see any sign of this. We have asked for compensation with regards to all of the above but despite asking many times when this will be agreed, any mention of compensation has been completely ignored even after discussing it in person with Jaz. I would not hesitate to recommend this estate agent to anyone. They are doing a really great job as you can see!

[[EDIT ORIGINAL START]] upon arriving in London I had already arranged several viewings through Foxtons, Marsh and Parsons and Nelsons. Knowing that I wanted to be in Clapham with only a week to find somewhere and as near to the tube as possible (who doesn't) but on a fairly tight budget I was asking alot! When it came to viewings I became rapidly frustrated with both Foxtons and Marsh and parsons who seemed determined to let me flats anywhere but in Clapham and constantly told me that I wouldn't be able to find anything where I wanted and at the price I could afford! Nelsons showed me 3 different properties all within 10 mins walk of Clapham tubes and 2 of them where at a lower price than my max budget, I also found that when asking about cost of fee's Nelsons where by far the cheaper option and I found them to be incredibly efficient throughout the moving process. I viewed the apartment on a Saturday with a view to moving in the following Firday, Adele at Nelsons contacted me 1st thing Monday morning and went through the referencing process with me. I found her conduct to be first rate and at no point did I find the process to be complicated or frustrating as some other reviewers have described.
On the day of my move I was asked what time would be appropriate for me to come and sign contracts and pay the final funds, I went to the office at 6 and was all signed up and given the keys within half an hour of arriving. I was then told to meet the Inventory Clerk at the property and that He would go through everything with me at the property and answer any questions I might have.
All in all I found Nelsons to be a very pleasant and efficient agent, they managed to show me an apartment for the price I wanted and in the area I wanted which I was then able to move into within 6 days with no hiccups.
I totally understand that everyone's experiences are different with these things but of the 3 different agents I looked at properties through I couldn't recommend Nelsons Highly enough! [[EDIT ORIGINAL END]]

Knowing that I wanted to be in Clapham with only a week to find somewhere and as near to the tube as possible (who doesn't) but on a fairly tight budget I was asking alot! When it came to viewings I became rapidly frustrated with both Foxtons and Marsh and parsons who seemed determined to let me flats anywhere but in Clapham and constantly told me that I wouldn't be able to find anything where I wanted and at the price I could afford! Nelsons showed me 3 different properties all within 10 mins walk of Clapham tubes and 2 of them where at a lower price than my max budget, I also found that when asking about cost of fee's Nelsons where by far the cheaper option and I found them to be incredibly efficient throughout the moving process. I viewed the apartment on a Saturday with a view to moving in the following Firday, Adele at Nelsons contacted me 1st thing Monday morning and went through the referencing process with me. I found her conduct to be first rate and at no point did I find the process to be complicated or frustrating as some other reviewers have described.
On the day of my move I was asked what time would be appropriate for me to come and sign contracts and pay the final funds, I went to the office at 6 and was all signed up and given the keys within half an hour of arriving. I was then told to meet the Inventory Clerk at the property and that He would go through everything with me at the property and answer any questions I might have.
All in all I found Nelsons to be a very pleasant and efficient agent, they managed to show me an apartment for the price I wanted and in the area I wanted which I was then able to move into within 6 days with no hiccups.
I totally understand that everyone's experiences are different with these things but of the 3 different agents I looked at properties through I couldn't recommend Nelsons Highly enough!

I disagree with the negative reviews of this estate agents. When I first called and showed interest in one of the properties they were advertising, they were extremely helpful and I managed to view the property later that day. The person that I was shown around by was extremely knowledgeable about the property and explained the next steps in proceeding with making an offer. Once I had put down the 2 weeks holding deposit and agency fees, I was in contact with one of the administrators. She was really efficient and made the moving in process very easy! On the day of move in I went into the office to sign the contract and all the staff that I met were very friendly! The office was really cool and I was extremely happy when they handed me over the keys to my new house. Would definitely use Nelsons again!

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
