We had our property for sale with the Eastbourne office and accepted a 2% fee. We expected a Gold service. Our experiences turned out to be far from our original expectations. We weren't told that the property had been put on the web, or shown any advertising. When we went online and found that the house advertised. The photographs were appalling the main picture of the house showed more of the grass verge, footpath and the wall at the front of the house. This made a large three bedroom look like a small cottage as it was so far away. Some pictures of the inside were no better. On contacting the office we asked for them to be retaken and to see the brochure. We were given an A4 printed sheet. At no time had we been asked to OK the sales particulars. We had to keep contacting the office to get them to give us progress reports. We got a sale. However, the sale fell through, as our buyers, buyer had a heart attack and could not proceeded. Suffice to say that we were not kept informed as to what was happening with our buyers. The heart attack information turned out to be a discussion between the two estate agents involved. We had no further help or information from King & Chasemore and cancelled our sale in early November. We received an unsigned letter two or more weeks (as the date in the letter was illegible), after the cancellation period to acknowledging our wish to cancel the contract. This is just a précis of our nightmare with King & Chasmore!

Feb 26, 2014Have had a horrible experience with king and chasemore, eastbourne. Thet persuaded my 83 year old father that he needed a presentation pack when putting his very sellable bungalow on the market. They immediately took 360 pounds out of his account using his debit card. Am in the process of trying to get a refund. Am disgusted that they took advantage of an old man!

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
