I RECEIVE A PROPERTY ALERT FROM THE NORFOLK SQ BRANCH IN BRIGHTON.
I DROP BY TO GET MORE INFO AND POTENTIAL;Y ORGANIZE A VIEWING. RELUCTANTLY THOUGH, AS THE PROPERTY IS FAR FROM SPECIAL AND BELOW MY STANDRD AND COSTS OVER 1100 PER MONTH.
IMMEDIATELY THE GRILLING AND .AFFORDABILITY NONSENSE BEGINS. (you have to earn 33K or 40 blah blah blah ) To live in a dump. By my reckoning.
I EXPLAIN ALL OF THE ABOVE SOLELY INTERESTED IN THE VIEWING TO SEE IT IN PERSON.
IMMEDIATELY , THE NEGATIVES BEGIN.
IAM REFUSED POINT BLANK BECAUSE ''YOU WONT PASS REFERENCING' '. (Effectively 'COMPUTER SAYS NO')
THINGS HAVE TO CHANGE WITH THE RENTALS MARKET IN THIS COUNTRY. RENTERS HAVE BEEN TREATED LIKE 2ND CLASS CITIENS FOR TOO LONG. LETTING AGENTS ARE AFFECTING SOCIETY ADVERSELY, NOT JUST DRIVING PRICES TO UNREASONBLE HEIGHTS (the UK is undergoing a housing crisis) BUT LEAVING PERFECTLY HOMEABLE PEOPLE OUT OF HOMES. WITH THEIR DEMANDS AND NONSENSE AND LACK OF VISION. LETTING AND ESTATE AGENTS NEED TO BE REIGNED-IN BY THE GOV. AND RENT CAPS NEED T BE BROUGHT IN.
THE MORE SMART AGENTS ARE ACTUALLY INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO GO ' OK LET US SEE HOW WE CAN DO THIS' RATHER THAN EXPECTING THE WHOLE WORLD TO BE A 9-5 TYPE .
THE AFFORDABILITY BS IS JUST THAT . A LOT OF BS. NO ONE CAN COME TELL ME WHAT I CAN AND CANNOT AFFORD.
LETTING AGENTS UNDO THEMSELVES FROM THE BLAME ''ITS NOT US IT'S THE REF AGENCY ' YES , BUT YOU ARE THE FACILITATORS AND GATEKEEPERS OF THIS UNHEALTHY DYNAMIC.
ESPECIALLY GIVENT THAT IF THE FLAT WAS NICE ID BE HAVING TO HAND THEM ALMOST 9K IN ONE GO , FOR THE PLEASURE.
THE PRESSURE ESTATE AGENTS PUT TENANTS UNDER IS INHUMANE. AND OF COURSE THEY DONT APPLY SIMILAR PRESSURE TO LANDLORDS, WHO CAN GET AWAY WITH PREMIUM DOSH FOR THEIR UNDERPAR HOLES.
REGULATION IS NEEDED. K AND CHASEMORE WERE THE MUCH REVILED LETTING AGENT STEREOTYPE TODAY

EXTREMELY HIGH AGENT'S FEES!!!!, KING & CHASEMORE ONE OF THE ESTATE AGENTS WITH MORE EXPENSIVE FEES IN THE MARKET.

UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE AND INCORRECT ADVICE provided by Elia Magar, Letting Agent Negotiator at King & Chasemore Brighton Branch- 52 Nolfork Square. We have applied for renting a property at 67 Kingsmere in Preston Park through this Letting Agent. Before paying the holding deposit, we have asked the Letting Negotiator in several e-mails if my husband's second income included in a payslips could be taken into consideration for referencing process. We have his confirmation in written saying both incomes could be taken into consideration for the referencing process.We have also contacted directly their reference company Letting Hub, and they have also confirmed over the phone (we have phone recordings sent by the reference company now) in which they confirmed, his tips/service charge are taken into consideration. To our massive surprise, the results came from the reference process saying we needed a UK guarantor because my husband second's income is not taken into consideration for referencing. Why the letting Agent Negotiator didn't say that from the moment we asked, before we paid the holding deposit so we wouldn't waste our time and money.??? As we trusted their advice given, we paid holding deposit and gave notice in our place, which has been rented now. We have a toddler and we are currently without a place to live only because of the incorrect advice from Elia Magar, Letting Agent Negotiator from Brighton branch. We were required to provide a UK guarantor in 24 hours, which was extremely stressful for us as we both were working full day on both days. We found one within their rigid deadline, when they haven't even asked the landlord if they would accept us with a guarantor.!!!!!! Information to the landlord was manipulated as the Agent didn't want to show was their fault, as we have provided the correct information about our incomes from the beginning of the process. As a result of this unprofessional service and incorrect information provided by the Letting Agent, the Landlord didn't want to take us (decision we respect), which was about three weeks after we started the process to rent this property. And now, we are homeless with a two years old daughter, only because the Letting Agent Negotiator provided the incorrect information from the beginning. Things would be different if from the very first moment when we asked about the requirements for the reference process, we would have been provided with the correct information!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE!!

I rented out my house with King & Chasemore because of their name, but now i realise the smaller the company, the better. The staff themselves were nice enough, but there was so many errors in the paperwork that i couldnt risk them working for me any longer. (they blamed it all on head-office..i dont doubt that) I even had to carry out the mid-tenacy inspection by myself, even after paying 10% a month, i just expected a lot more of a service, in the end i ended up having to pay £600 to get rid of them (the agent, not the tenants). Imagine my annoyance when 2 weeks after this the tenants announced they were moving out...they said 'oh, we told the office 3 weeks ago'. lesson learnt

Avoid this agency at all costs. The staff can be very unprofessional when you need them. Had to call a lawyer twice to ask for help as they were trying to enter my property without me being there and tried to convince me that that's the law when it isn't. Avoid this agency at all costs. The staff can be very unprofessional when you need them. Had to call a lawyer twice to ask for help as they were trying to enter my property without me being there and tried to convince me that that's the law when it isn't. They also constantly say they will call back and then don't. The contract renewal was due months ago and I'm only able so sign it now, late. I'm so happy when my tenancy is over so that I don't need to deal with their unprofessional manners anymore. Also their fees are ridiculous as per usual here in Brighton.
