Stephanie was professional and polite throughout the selling process. When there were issues raised by others Stephanie was able to offer creative solutions. Stephanie used her negotiating skills to obtain a fair price for the house we were selling.
For buying or selling houses in High Wycombe, I would always reccommend Chancellors.
Comments on Agent Fees
The agent has a shared interest in achieving optimum price and was able to negotiate but was clear about range.

Regarding your comment Ced, I was selling and buying through Chancellors. They arranged for my purchase to be gazumped at the eleventh hour. It cost me a huge amount of money. They did not act in my best interests and in fact actively worked against me. It has taken a long time for the truth to emerge because of their unprofessional behaviour but I am now able to take action against them.

No help at all for me as the landlord, although I'm paying them , getting contractors out for things that didn't need it as they never enquired properly with the tenant. Costing me money for call out charges ect on what the already knew. No communication between anyone at Chancellors getting contacted for the same things constantly. Would never recommend them or use them again HIGHLY AVOID

Terrible experience buying a property. They gave false information, as well as the wrong information and also told plain lies! - all of which could have landed me with a serious problem with the property after the sale went through and affected the mortgage too. I had no choice but to pull out of the purchase, loosing a lot of money! I am not happy as you can imagine.
The complaints process is a joke, this is how it went... Director asks colleague "is she right"... "nope" replies colleague - investigation concluded..... (director tells client) provide evidence as I have done my investigation and you have nothing on us. (Excuse me Chancellors, this is a two way street - where is your evidence?!) You ask me for evidence by way of emails - after already asking and having all my emails before the investigation, so you knew what I had to begin with! also you know and i told you that all your agents insisted on having everything via phone rather than email and they probably do this for this exact reason. Also when I asked who can this be forwarded too, as I was still obviously unhappy with the complaint response, I was ignored until after the deadline of their regulators. Complete crooks!
In addition, they took forever to respond to my complaints and queries when I caught them out and their Sales and Lettings team don't communicate at all and they try to spin it like they are different companies to get out of any hot water so to speak.
Lastly, the lettings Director was the most condescending man I have ever spoken to in my life and he shouldn't be allowed to talk to people let alone clients.
You have made my first purchase a truly awful experience and I may not be able to get your regulator's involved as you have cleverly put a pin in that; nonetheless, I will write a bad review on every site and sing from the rooftops about my experience with the worst estate agents.
Do not use Chancellors in High Wycombe, you will regret it.

The worst customer service ever! Agreed to purchase a property from chancellors, mortgage in place, solicitors instructed in April 2021, told the agents had to complete before stamp duty holiday. My solicitor raised enquiries but the vendor could not be bothered to reply to these nor did their solicitor chase them up for a whole month. 2nd week of June, I chased the agents up again explaining the importance of this matter to no avail. I explained to the agent that if we could not complete before the stamp duty deadline, I will ask for £3,500 to be knocked off the asking price. The agent got this information wrong and asked for £12,500 to be knocked off the asking price. This cost me the sale. Further the vendor stated she was stressed as she had not found alternative accommodation even though the property was on the market for over a year, due to which she refused to sell and withdrew from the transaction. 2 days later, the vendor re-advertised the house on the market without telling me. Called the agents who refused to answer my call and explain the mess. I am now almost £1000 out of pocket on legal fees yet no-one from chancellors has the decency to explain what's happened or least to say an apology for the mess caused.

Avoid this fraud scheme. Attempted to buy a property off Chancellors. They refused viewing to us, evem though we wanted to offer a higher price to the vendor and effectively have sold the property while their office was closed on Sunday. Must have been a very familiar buyer to their agent who was picked on a Chancellors’ day off and presented to an elderly vendor and the only one interested in the property. If I didn’t know better I would have thought they have their own buyers waiting to cherry-pick low-priced properties. Not to mention they were rude to both me and my wife when we initially enquired about that particular house. Teied to discourage us from participating in the transaction. Went to competition where I was always treated with respect as a client.

First time buyer with finance ready, deal done in August for an EMPTY property in HW area. Now end December and STILL no sign of exchange & completion - took until October for the vendors solicitor to issue the initial info pack. Thats how much chasing Chancellors HO does :-( Promised weekly contact - mmmm, more like monthly, if you chase. My advice - if you see a Chancellors board, no matter how wonderful the property might be - move right along, for the sake of your own sanity and blood pressure

Our buyers sold their house through Chancellors, and they were absolutely useless at organising their one property sale in a 4 property chain. As soon as they have sold the property all dealing are sent to a faceless central office, who couldn't care less about a single low value property sale. They effectively left our estate agents to chase on their behalf, however as they weren't acting for our buyers could only do so much. We also tried to purchase a property through this branch in 2014, we spent 7 months in a chain before it all collapsed because of a lack of progress!!! Avoid this estate agent at all costs.

I wish I had read these reviews before using Chancellors management services for lettings. I have found them absolutely appalling. The appointment suppliers to do repairs who can charge 4 times the price of some and they do no inspection of the work undertaken by supplier to ensure it is up to par before paying the invoice. I was horrified to find I had been charged �440 for a blown window which looked at though it had never been touched. I then appointed a local supplier who charged me less than �100 for a job well done. When I complained to Chancellors they told me it was my problem as the contract was taken out in my name with the supplier.
They are poor communicators and fail to respond.
I made a formal complaint to Chancellors and they basically told me they didn't care and that they were happy for me to leave them and take my business else where.
Please do not use them, it is less stress to manage your property yourself.
I think their poor level of service should be promoted via social media to prevent others falling into their trap!

What agent could do to change your mind?
Communication is so key to any sales no matter how large or small. If people are leaving messages for a call back, have the decency to actually pick up the phone and not leave them hanging.

Sending out available property bulletins to their registered buyers with properties that are currently under offer is also bad practice.
Unfortunately it appears that sellers really like this agent and so I will be forced to continue using them. I just really hope they don't screw up any sales if I do buy through them in the long run.

What agent could do to change your mind?
They need to understand their own \'Terms of Business\' document well. They should be very clear in letting their customer know what they will be charged. If they failed to do so, they should honestly stand up and say that they made a mistake instead of inventing new stories to blame the customer.

They drew a \'Terms of Business\' document without mentioning any fee apart from the \'credit\' note and now they are charging me 12% fee. I would never have accepted for a market leading fee like 12%.
They charged a documentation fee when I repeatedly mentioned to them that I will take care of producing the tenancy agreement
They just siphoned off the first month rent without dropping me a hint. A complete communication failure.

As a keen individual to move up to High Wycombe, contacted Chancellors as they had properties matching my criteria. The agent assigned to me was very flaky, extremely intimidating, I could not hold of her and been ignored when I returned her calls about viewings. Found a property that I liked as it matched my requirements, but upon putting down an offer lower than advertised I was verbally mocked about it. I felt violated as a customer, laughed at, and most of all treated in the least professional way I ever imagined. Buying a property is the most expensive "shopping" you will ever do and yet for this particular agent it appeared that if I do not pay what they tell me so that they meet their targets, they will mock you and are uninterested in making business with you.
I have completely gone cold on the idea of dealing with this particular agent to the point of aversion of any contact with her and the agency themselves. Another issue was about the type of properties I was shown. She only showed me around those that were at the upper maximum of my budget. When I asked about properties in the lower margins, she said they were all gone. Just now I have received adverts of these properties so they do seem to be still available.
All in all, complete lack of professionalism and very aggressive salesmanship tactics.
