I moved to Bicester from overseas in June 2022 and I was quite worried about my first home in UK. Fortunately, I dealt with Zsofia who helped to find us a property in Bicester to rent within a couple of weeks. She was very responsive (emails and phone calls) , polite and patience ! She was great at communicating with me about everything, finding me with different options following my requirements and giving me her professional advice always. Terrible agency. Dreadful experience. They have no customer service whatsoever. The staff don't know anything. They all refuse to help, a bunch of money grabbers. No moral at all. They left me outside the property overnight. When I first moved in after months after sending all the necessary paperwork they requested, when I collected the keys, they said no, I needed one extra documents, after I've asked them a hundred times if they needed anything else. I am international, I had just flown 13 hours, I have no family or friends here, and they said, if I don't give that tiny documents (which turns out was not even important) I can't get in, and they'll me outside. Terrible people, they should all be fired.

Chancellors have provided a NON service as far as we are concerned. The property we moved into, after paying six months rent in advance and deposit, had clearly not been inspected at all. Whilst a sale was achieved at asking price and relatively quickly ( not unexpected as my mums house was presented well) Chancellors did not progress the sale well and had introduced a buyer who was not financially proceedable, despite arguing they were. This went on for 3 months. Within days of exchange we were finally told the buyer was not proceedable. My mother suffered significant financial loss as a direct result of their poor communication. I had a number of unanswered emails, specifically seeking the buyers intentions and was fobbed off. Then, after I instructed them to stop marketing, they didn't and when we appointed another agent, I was aggressively harangued by a Chancellors representative who didn't give his name and tried to say they had the right to market for another 28 days or face a fee. Absolutely outrageous. Read the small print, better still avoid and save yourself a lot of grief.

Absolutely appaling service, rented through them and the whole experience was stressful and very badly managed. As soon as we had signed contract they didn't want to deal woth us. Would definately not go with this agent either renting or selling and everybody I speak to about them have known somebody or themselves had bad service from them. Glad we are out of dealing with this rude and unprofessional Agent.

And then to add insult to injury they made false repair quotes to try and obtain excessive money post end of tenancy.

Despite the horrendous experience with rental sides the sales team were great, funny how differently you are treated when they are making commission! Certainly wouldn't recommend renting with them to anyone

One word! Appalling.
From start to finish the sale of my property was a total shambles and I wish I'd never picked up the phone to them. From not leaving me a copy of the contract (illegal) to vastly overinflating the value, to trying to view property whilst I was in bed after clearly making them aware I was working nights. Please consider every other estate agent before Chancellors as you may regret it.

After taking a years rent upfront and handing it straight to the landlord, we were left living in below standard conditions and there was no real reason (because both the agent and landlord) had taken their cash, to want to help. We were continually robbed off, staff came and they went and over the year we were spoken to in such a terrible manner. The best solution we were offered was a new property.. though we had a move in date and were advised to give notice to our landlord (which we did), the property we were set to move into was sold and we then had to stay in the property we were unhappy in because of the basic living standards being met, 2 rooms leaked in, one very badly and there is a list of other issues. So we stayed put, which inconvenienced the landlord. Then it took me months to get the fees back on the property that was sold because I didn't know the door number! I had to prove the payment by showing a copy of our bank statement, which I can't understand as accounts clarified that they could have confirmed the payment to branch and therefore issued a refund without the delay!!

I wouldn't use Chancellors again, mainly because the trust is gone. Check-out was a nightmare and I used their own cleaners to avoid the mess that it ended up being anyway!!
By the way, internet of even a phoneline is a luxury! So don't assume you'll have either.

Do not use this estate agents, my company leased a property through Chancellors and the landlady illegally held our deposit and I had to take her to court to get our money back. This action took several months and was at great expense. Chancellors disclosed confidential emails to the landlady without my permission, furthermore I feel Chancellors really did make it very difficult for us to recover our deposit. I'm now having to report Chancellors to ICO. In my opinion you should seek a more ethical company to use and avoid Chancellors as an estate agents.

I would like to give a huge thank you and recommendation to Kerry Lawson of the Oxfordshire Property Management Team based in Bracknell. I moved in to my rental property at the end of February 2014 and Kerry has been absolutely wonderful, guiding me through the process and making any necessary repairs and arrangements with my landlord. The property had only just been acquired by my landlord, so there were a few issues left over from the previous owner; all of which Kerry has coordinated and expedited in her friendly, efficient and informative way. She has a manner that makes you feel that she is not only there to run the property on behalf of the landlord, but to ensure that for the tenant they have a bespoke welcoming service to their new home.
