My initial impression of Fineholm Letting was a negative one, but now having been a tenant in two properties managed by them for almost four years I have come to learn that beneath the frosty exterior are some very capable professionals. When getting in touch with Fineholm, I would point out that they answer calls promptly, and in the majority of cases will make a good attempt with dealing with a query straight away, and the availability of appropriate staff to deal with an enquiry is generally good too. Unfortunately the telephone manner on many occasions has left me feeling that my call has been an inconvenience. The standard first question is whether the caller is a tenant or an owner, and sometimes I am left wondering if customers who provide the property to enable them to do business get a better reception than customers who simply provide their monthly revenue. Perhaps this is simply due to the sheer volume of properties and customers they deal with - it is undoubtedly a very busy agency. Putting the initial contact to one side, I have found that once a particular issue has been raised, it is dealt with promptly and effectively. The office based maintenance staff are competent at arranging for work to be carried out by tradespeople / subcontractors and they do not quibble or try to apportion blame when equipment like showers and washing machines break down. Recently they excelled themselves in resolving a complex water leak issue, which involved two other properties and they made good use of their professional expertise in dealing with the owners, factor and environmental health service involved. I would like to mention Melissa in Fineholm's maintenance department for her pleasant yet firm manner which was key in getting the different parties to come together and sort the problem. They have also already arranged for a quote on remedial work to get the property back to standard, without the need for me to request this myself. I would have little hesitation in recommending Fineholm to anyone who was considering renting a property managed by them in the future.

Moved in to a temporary repair in the ceiling, moved out to repair having fallen off and water freely entering every rainfall. Lights that never worked and were never attended to. Only when I announced I was leaving was there any response, which involved a visit by the same agent that photographed the faults before I moved in. Nothing happened.
Unless desperate for a particular property that only Fineholm manage, avoid like the plague.

We have had many issues in our flat over the years and is normally been a nightmare to sort out. Linda is extremely efficient, understanding and I wish she had dealt with all our issues in the past. Thankfully Linda couldn't of been better. She was prompt, organised, understanding and sympathetic to the situation. Although it was an 8 day wait she communicated every day, even on her days off (and the weekend) so that we were always dealing with the same person. Every phone call was followed up with a concise email of updates we'd discussed.
Needless to say losing access to hot water and heating during the snowiest days of the year was not pleasant, however I feel extremely fortunate we had Linda on our side, her professionalism has restored my faith in this letting agency.

Please read through all the comments before you decide. I was stupid enough to think I won't let it happen but even I became a victim of it despite knowing the reviews. I was desperate at the time but only now realising it wasn't worth it at all. Even if you do rent the property, keep an evidence of everything from day one. Take your own pictures, save all their inspection pictures, I didn't and now they aren't providing me any pictures either so I can use them as evidence. Keep a record of all their phone conversations that you make, any maintenance issues. Keep your own evidences because they won't give you anything!

A month and a half after moving out of the property we rented from Fineholm lettings, we are still in dispute for the charges they are proposing to us. The final moving out report was 80% all wrong, reported missing items that were present in the property in storage cupboards or top of the shelves, reported damages that were there when we moved in and should be visible for them to see in the pictures taken at inspection after we moved in. They did not go through the inventory I handed in with my comments on it, in fact I'm having to go through the whole inventory to send them evidence of their false findings. Out of £495 of our deposit amount, we are being charged £492 for things that are not not even done or worth it.
The so called deep cleaning pictures carried out for £120 still show dirt in the bathroom and windows and around the property. The garden was done for £140 but upon showing pictures that my husband took after they charged us, the grass is still overgrown the weed us still there and garden us still as much of state as it was when we moved in. The inventory clearly stats the garden was already overgrown and overgrown weed before moved in but they are expecting us to send 100s on getting ir fixed.
Danages reported were already mentioned in the inventory, yet they are charging us for those damages. Since the whole last month u have had to send them countless lengthy emails and pictures of evidences trying to show their false findings. And they are still charging us £30 for the findings and organising fee, what a joke when I had to email through all the pictures of the inventory as well as pictures of the property when it's back on the market again with no such thing as cleaning or fixed garden. All that's been done us just white paint through the property to make it look clean.
No matter how ideal the property seem to you that fineholm has advertised, DO NOT go for it because they will cause you extreme stress and mental exhaustion for claiming your deposit back. Currently putting this matter in dispute with safe deposit as well as seeking legal help because I would rather pay a solicitor than pay the landlord or fineholm for their false findings and allegations. I have the full detailed inventory, they couldn't provide me with the inventory I handed in with my signatures on it so I'm having to send pictures from my copy of the inventory. Countless emails, hours spent on checking through everything on my own which shouldn't have been my job to do!
