Pattisons in Cramlington were the vendors Estate Agents when we bought a flat. We received an email from the Morpeth Branch after the acceptance offer, which I still have, saying that all future communication should be with them, not sure why! When our flat survey showed damp we contacted the Morpeth Branch and asked them to inform the vendor - twice - I still have the emails - they didn't, and we ended up knocking on the front door of the vendor to inform her. We then dealt with the vendor all the way with the damp issue. I then got a call from Cramlington to say that we should not have dealt with Morpeth and to forward all the emails I sent to Morpeth. I duly did this and received not one word of apology or even an acknowledgement that I had sent them.
The day of completion arrived and we received a call to say that the keys were at Cramlington. What a farce, talk about bad customer service and indifferent staff!! We couldn't get in the door to start with then the girl didn't know which were the keys. She tried to phone someone who was on their lunch several times without success, then she tried through her PC. In the end she picked some keys up and told me that these must be them!! Maybe no-one in Pattison has ever heard of labelling keys or leaving a note! The other issue I have is that at no point was I asked who I was, I could have been anyone walking in and asking for keys.
If I were the vendor I would definitely be questioning my service and costs!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review with regards to your recent purchase. When you put your offer forward, you called to the Morpeth office, hence the email response from them. Reviewing the notes on the file, the survey report was forwarded, from your mortgage advisor, to our Morpeth office, highlighting issues to be addressed. Our Morpeth office liaised with the vendor in order to resolve these issues. In the meantime I spoke to your solicitor and was informed that you had chosen to deal direct with the vendor as you had a builder in mind you wanted to look over the issues. I rang you and you confirmed this was the case. At this point, you did mention you had sent emails that had not been responded to and I asked for these to be forwarded to myself in order to address. To date, I have not received these emails.
When I called to inform yourself and your son that the keys were able to be released, at no point did you make us aware, that picking the keys up from the Cramlington office was a problem. If we knew this was the case, we could've arranged pick up elsewhere.
When you came to collect the keys, Gemma called me and to confirm before releasing them as she was not in the office when the keys were handed in. I clarified this and the keys were handed over. I apologise for the inconvenience, however, this is sometimes unavoidable when there are four members of staff in and out of the office on appointments. We are always contactable via mobile phones for this reason and we would never label keys for security reasons.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Called when they said they would and apologised for the mistakes they made and damage they caused.

I am letting a property with Reeds Rains estate agents (highly recommend them) I came to the property one day and found Pattinsons had screwed and bolted a to let board to the side of my house. Their board blocked the Reeds Rains board and was cracked, dis-colored and missing a corner in short it looked awful. I called Pattinsons and spoke to Kerry I told her I was unhappy and wanted it removed asap, Kerry said she had ordered a board for a different house in the street and would get it moved (no apology though). Three days later the board was still up so I called back and spoke to what I thinks was a call centre, again they said they would get it removed (still no apology). A week later and surprise suprise the board was still there looking scabbier than ever, another phone call and this time I told Kerry I wanted to speak to the manager, apparently she was in a meeting but if I left my name and number she would call back, as this would be the third time is given my details and waited for a call back I declined and let her know I would be contacting the police. So after making a complaint to my local police force for criminal damage and trespassing the police called me and advised they had promised the board would be down by Monday at the very latest. So come Tuesday guess what? Still a board outside! So another irate phone all to Kerry and this time I got to the manager Shauna, (still no apology) she would take my number and call me back in 10 minutes. The sub-contractor called me 5 minutes later, he apologised and was very helpful there had been confusion over the house number and it would be rectified immediately (he was great) the board came down within hours. It's been 3 days since Shauna advised she would call me back in 10 minutes and guess what, she hasn't called and Pattinsons have still never apologised! If they can't manage to arrange a sign outside the right house then how can they be expected to sell or let a property? Complete shambles of a company!!!

Partner and I rented a property through pattinsons from a private landlord, with the acception of a few issues such as ignoring repairs the time in the property was larely plesent. However a year after we decided to move out, having had no prior complaints, from the moment of announcing our notice the landlord became unreasonable, aggressive and even violent, pattinsons simply did not care their landlord had behave this way and even though we had told them of her behavior they release peronal details of our application to her resulting in her now having our address. Now genuinly fear this woman that became violent with a woman 20 years her junior in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy because of this estate agent. Would never go through these people again who have no care for who they are passing tenants to as they are still her agent! Recommend anyone to avoid pattinsons and their landlords!

Just recently purchased a flat at auction. We viewed the property twice and asked all the questions that I knew I needed to know. I asked on three occasions how long was left on the lease and in them 3 occasions I was told 57years. I won the property at auction and paid the £3600 deposit at £780 auction fees, non refundable. When my solicitor contacted me she advised me that there was in fact only 49years left on the lease, if I had known that I would not have bid on the property or at least reduced my final price! Miss sold a property due to false information given my sales staff and I am now looking into how to take this matter further. They say ask questions but how would you know if they lied, disgusting sales techniques.

Not charged massive high professional sized fees when they are so obviously amateurs in this industry!

Well well well where do I start with these clowns!! This never happened no contact no decorating nothing! Now since leaving the property they have not given us our deposit back even though it was apparently released 3 weeks ago! Now I'm no bank manager but 3 weeks to receive a payment is a joke our deposit was paid in cash too so no excuses! Also because they wasn't working the weekend we were due to be moving out we had to move out 2 days early and still haven't had the money back for the extra 2 days we had paid! This company is pathetic excuse of a company. Even when you call to ask a simple question they can never answer it and have to call somebody else to get the answer then ring you back!! Massive time wasters and will hold on to your money for longer than necessary! Avoid at all costs!! So glad we have gone private now, no hassle and any questions get answered straight away!!

What agent could do to change your mind?
Too many things to list, please see the above review. The agent were awful from start to finish and had no interest in making the process as simple as it could be. Misinformation, rudeness and a lack of concern for their customers was apparent throughout.
I made the mistake of buying my first home through Pattinsons and cannot describe how awful they were. Both myself and the vendor were horrified at their lack of professionalism, the staff were rude and appeared to have no knowledge of what they were doing. As a cash buyer, we had hoped to be in a relatively strong position but were treated very badly throughout the whole process, as were the vendors.
They frequently provided us with incorrect information, tried to charge us for additional fees (which when argued, were suddenly 'dropped as a goodwill gesture' ), failed to meet any of the deadlines they themselves had set and instead of allocating one person to the purchase, forced us to deal with a different person almost every time we spoke to them....which was almost daily due to the amount of errors they made. Our purchase took weeks longer than agreed simply because they had set deadlines they were (for unknown reasons) unable to meet. Obviously, this cost us money as well as time and caused a lot of stress for all concerned.
Both myself and the vendor wasted a significant amount of time and effort chasing them up for various things and became extremely frustrated in the process. Unfortunately, my vendor was tied into using them and we fell in love with the house, if this had not been the case, we would definitely have gone elsewhere.
Everyone involved in the sale agreed that Pattinsons were awful and made an already stressful process much harder and more difficult. I would never use this company again and would highly recommend that you don't either. Whether you are buying, selling or even renting, please don't be misled by their claims, they are not interested in putting their customer first and we have since discovered, they have a terrible reputation. Please do yourselves a favour and avoid them at all costs, how they are allowed to perform so badly is a mystery but I guarantee you will do better by avoiding them.
