FineHolm were sometimes good at communicating things to us, but quite often poor, telling us about flat viewings a day before they happen and not even asking to make sure this was a suitable time with no courtesy in the email at all. Emails with important information about appointments sent with the wrong dates. It felt like once we reached the end of the tenancy we were just a pain to them. The please and thank yous dropped from the emails and the content was reduced to one abrupt sentence. I have cleaned and cleaned the flat so I'm hopeful we'll get our full deposit back but from what I've heard FineHolm will find a way to keep some of it. Also our contract was poorly explained to us and left us unable to move-out until the month after we intended to - aprently your first month in the flat doesn't count as your first month when it comes to the 6 month contract! I've said I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else because although their properties are nice and I'm sure all the staff are nice people, whenever we needed to contact them there was that sinking feeling and we'd go "ugh, I'll phone FineHolm then".
Comment on agent fees
The flat was the most expensive flat (by some margin) we looked at when deciding where to rent even though it wasn't in the best area of Glasgow but it was the nicest-looking flat. I feel like the rent was a little over priced for the area we stayed in.

We're continually looking for ways to improve our customer service and I have taken on board your comments about our text to existing tenants and made some changes. In relation to viewings, we always aim to give tenants at least 24hrs notice so I apologise if this wasn't the case or if incorrect information was given.
It's certainly not the case that Fineholm wish to keep your deposit. Your deposit is held by an unbiased, independent company called SafeDeposits in line with the Tenant Deposit Scheme legislation and if we request a deduction they ask for your approval and if you don't agree it would be put to an adjudicator within SafeDeposits. I hope this helps to put your mind at ease.
We always discuss the notice period at your lease signing and I apologise if there has been some confusion. A six month lease agreement is exactly six months but if you don't give the required notice at the correct time then it can roll on for a further 2 months.
Please feel free to call me if you're still not clear on the notice period or if you wish to discuss any other aspect of your tenancy.
