I rented my property through Leaders and I really regret my decision. The tenants were not vetted properly and ended up vandalising my flat. I think Leaders put in effort to catch customers and then once they have their money, the customer service dies away completely. Avoid at all costs.

Horrific agent fees, where we are now it\'s half the price of leaders, we also don\'t have to pay to renew out tenancy which we had to do PER PERSON with leaders.

One of the worst experiences we've had dealing with an estate agent. Met with countless issues, incorrect paper work, lack of communication and ultimately only in it for the money, horrifically high admin fees, which are completely unnecessary. Trying to get a response via email was like pulling teeth, they'd call us when we were at work and get annoyed when we wouldn't respond via telephone. We work until their office is shut so email was easiest. Only time we'd get actual responses is when they wanted something, or payment. Agreements were made that payment would be made by a certain date, and they continued to email asking for the money before the date agreed. We ended up feeling like we weren't listened to and that all they wanted was money from us. Our new estate agents have made us feel welcome, they are polite, they have checked in on us to make sure everything is okay, the fees are half what leaders are and I am happy to be away from such a money grabbing company.

2nd let through Leaders so should have learnt from the 1st time when they tried to charge me £80 to clean the cooker hob, luckily I still had the 'checking in photos' which showed that the hob was cleaner when we left, however they still charged me £35 to clean the top of two door frames even though the property was being redecorated! This time over £600 pounds, we moved out early and then they locked us out of the property even though we were still paying rent. Tennents beware, take photos of every little mark, scrape, dent and overall cleanliness, etc as none of this will be recorded when you check in but certainly will be when you leave. Also had a nasty letter accusing us of having a pet which we clearly did not only for them to admit they ticked the wrong box when they did a 6 month inspection. Would rather be homeless then rent through them again, rude ignorant staff who don't seem to realise that we pay their wages!

I am absolutely appalled at the treatment we have received from Leaders. We left the property in excellent condition, with my wife and myself personally cleaning the property from top to bottom.
Knowing that this 'wouldn't be enough', we then paid for a professional cleaning company to do a full clean.
Despite our efforts, and despite the numerous improvements we had made to the property, at out own expense, Leaders are withholding our deposit (it has now been over a month since we left the property and they still have not returned the deposit).
All we have been told is that they are "getting quotes from contractors" to repair the damage.
Please take this as a warning: I strongly advise anyone who rents a property from Leaders to buy or hire a video camera and take an extremely complete inventory of how the property was at the beginning of the tenancy - as you will need this when it comes to 'fighting for your deposit back.'
In fact, on second thoughts, my advice is to avoid them completely!

We have recently finished renting a property through Leaders. Throughout the tenancy they were very slow to get repairs done which were requested, not only by ourselves, but by the landlord too. Some requests were ignored and some took over a year to repsond to, even for the most trivial task.
On moving out we left the house in perfect condition, and in a far better state than when we moved in, including several repairs and improvements we'd carried out ourselves due to their inabilty to provide them. Despite this, they tried to deduct a large amount from the deposit for things that either do not need attention, or have already been attended to. They are clearly trying to rip us off.
They also have extortionate extra fees, such as tenancy renewal fees.
Not only are they bad for tenants, they don't keep the property in a good state for the landlord. Avoid!

I would recommend Leader East Grinstead. A nightmare experience became a pleasure when the problem was dealt with effectively using contacts I would never have
and getting a builder to stop a current job to attend to my property as a priority. 10/10
