I have called for a house rental in Milton Keynes, and have been told I would be called back one hour late if still available. No call As the property was still advertised, I called back the day after and spotted a mistake in my phone number: one figure missing. I got the same agent twice and she hasn't seen the mistake so has not tried to call back.
At the second call she said she woulf call back to arrange a viewing after getting permission from the current tenants.
Days later, no call, the house is still available and have a premium highlight on Rightmove so they are struggling to find a tenant.
We earn 50 times the rent and tick all cases. Is it my name and foreign accent that are unwanted?

I have had constant issues with Leaders from the very start of the letting process.
I lease an apartment through Leaders in a managed block of apartments that includes a parking space. Before agreeing to rent the building I asked if there were any building maintenance fees or permits needs and I was informed no, these were all covered by the landlord. I have it in clear writing in my lease agreement that the property I rent includes a parking space with no mention of any additional permits needed.
I received a parking fine for parking in my own clearly designated space and contacted Leaders to resolve this issue. I received this response: " I have spoken to my manager and I will ask the Landlord to reimburse you the parking fine. However I would still pay for the fine because you don't to have more charges or court proceedings"
This was over two months ago. Since originally informing them of this issue and paying the parking charge I have received no reimbursement from Leaders or the landlord. They have have shown no proactivity in resolving this issue and I've only recieved a response of 'it's not our responsibility'. This charge and permit totals to 130 pound.
Before agreeing to rent the apartment I offered to pay money up front for the deposit. I was pressured into using the no deposit scheme that Leaders operate and made clear that I am more likely to be accepted for the property if I use the no deposit scheme that Leaders profit from. I struggle to believe that a landlord would not prefer cash in hand for a deposit. I am now having to pay monthly for a deposit that does not remove any amount from the original principle. To get out of this scheme you need to pay in full the original deposit amount. I strongly recommend not using the no deposit scheme and do not be pressured into this.
You are also pressured into leaving a positive Google Review for Leaders and the letting agent to prevent 'the letting agent getting in trouble with management'.
During the tenancy our boiler stopped working. When calling the service provider arranged by Leaders I was informed that 'plumbers don't like working weekends' and was left without hot water and heating for two days over during the winter period.
The property had a broken window when we originally moved in. It was not fixed until multiple months after reporting the issue to Leaders. When the landlord arrived for an unrelated electricity check he informed me that Leaders had not mentioned any issues to him.
Before moving into the property it was a constant struggle to get Leaders to return calls or emails. Once the admin fees were paid it felt as if we were left out to dry. Our keys to the property were handed to us late causing issues with deliveries and we were not given the required gas card to have heat in the property.
The property was advertised as unfurnished and the letting agent informed me that all furniture would be removed from the previous tenenants. When moving into the proper furniture remained. When I brought this up to Leaders I was told I either needed to place this furniture in storage at my own cost or sell the furniture at a cost stated by Leaders and give them the money directly.
I would not recommend using Leaders as your property agent. The landlord directly has been very helpful, he is a nice man. My problems have solely rested with Leaders with there inactive response times and dismissive attitudes.

Miss Lesley Gregory saved the day. Literally. She is our new property manager and managed to sort out our issues IN 4 HOURS, as the other agents we not able to do so for 3 months. The only thing I do not understand is, how come Miss Lesley Gregory managed to sort it out in just a few hours and the other ones no.
She is a true professional, so lovely and understand.
Honestly she is saving this whole agency.
She deserves a 10 star rating.

They gave me the first moving date, and so my partner handed in his things to leave his work in Huntingdon, and started making arrangements for work in Bedford. We were so exited to be finally moving out of my mum's place! :-)
My partner works with agencies, so they pretty much take you in on the spot and sign you on.
Leaders knew this from the start, and it wasn't a problem, we just needed to have a guarantor.
I sent over the agency fees and the money to use a Guarantor.
All fine. No problems. Although it was a nightmare trying to get hold of these people. I wouldn't hear back from them for days. Reference check completed, Guarantor reference check completed.
Then we got close to the moving date, and they called me and changed it because they couldn't get a reference for my Partner's work. So there will be a delay for the move in. (???)
Very upset as we had planned everything, and we were all set to go. I had sorted my insurance for the apartment, paid agency fees, paid guarantor fees, and made arrangements for all of our stuff to be taken to Bedford from Huntingdon.
Every time I called to be updated on how things were going, I was told that the Manager was out of the office or in a meeting. I was also told by one of the incredibly useless girls that "worked" there, that one of her colleagues were thinking about putting the property back on the market. (WHAT)
I bombarded them with calls as I was desperate to know what was happening with my apartment. No answer.
A couple of days later, I received a call from the manger saying that the referencing has been completed and you will definitely be moved in by Thursday. He didn't mention anything about the property going back on the market.
Me, being stupid, I just went along with it. All I was thinking about was my 6 month old, and my partner all moving into our first apartment together, and that was all that mattered to me. It was the perfect small, but cosy apartment! But I made no plans to get there and did not start up my insurance again, as I did not want to have to cancel it again if and when another problem came up.
4 days before we were supposed to be moved in, they called me and said "We've withdrawn your application and the apartment is back on the market." Your partner has lost his job. Agency fees and guarantor fees are non-refundable.
WHAT! How on EARTH has my partner "lost his job". You have already called them and got confirmation on everything. I said to them before what was happening, and there was no problems.
For the money to not be sent back to me is absolutely disgusting. So they took agency fees, guarantor fees.
I'm left with less money, no trust in agencies ever again, and a broken heart. As that apartment meant a lot to me.
I've given them One star, as there wasn't an option to click zero.
But that one star can be given to Leaders for their money making skills. I think they do this to everybody. They receive applications from everybody and they say yes to all of them. Then they will do whatever it takes to make problems and take your money from you. They must be rolling in it.
Be careful if you are using leaders, if you can avoid them, do that.
