Thoroughly unhelpful, have enquired about two properties on two separate occasions and on both enquiries no viewing was offered I had to constantly phone as noone ever bothered to contact me even though the properties arewere still up . I offered to pay the holding deposit without a viewing on one of the properties but this was refused. I'm not sure whether the landlords would be impressed they knew that there were potential tenants that were being turned away. I work the ambulance service and work shifts and found GasgoignePees very unhelpful in accommodating my shift work, I was basically told that i couldn't make the open day that was my problem not good customer service

I have used Gascoigne Pees/Contrywide to let our family home while we went abroad to work for 4 years. I chose full management and paid dearly for it, but the service I received for it wasn’t worth the money at all. When the tenants reported issues, Contrywide informed me late, hence that I asked the tenants to copy me in their emails, so that I could get on top of things quickly. I used one of their contractors for an issue in the main bathroom at the beginning of the tenancy and they sent a company that did a terrible job, caused damage and a lot of hassle and then went into liquidation, so I could not get any compensation. After that I chose contractors by myself and only used contractors I had previously used or highly recommended on Check-a-trade. Every time they offered the services of one of their contractors, the prices were extortionate. I ended up doing all the work myself, although I paid full management fees for 4 years. At the end of the tenancy the deposit rigmarole started, since the tenants have left a lot of damage and issues behind, which begs the question: how do Contrywide check references for tenants?? I accumulated tons of evidence in photos, videos, invoices, quotes, put everything together in an EPUB file and sent everything to Countrywide deposit team by 3rd August 2022. The adjudicator’s decision arrived only on 14th November and there were too many points in it that made no sense, as if the adjudicator looked at someone else’s file really. When I asked for the procedure to complain about the adjudicator’s decision, my case was passed to another member of the deposit team and it became clear that the previous employee tried to claim for items I never claimed anything for, while leaving out items I did claim for! Ultimately Contrywide are hindering me rather than helping me withhold the deposit, and they are exploiting the fact that I will take the tenants to the small claim court as an easy escape route to deny the responsibilities they have for their shoddy work. What a disappointment! And I though I was in the hands of professionals…

Their property management arm offer very poor service. As a landlord we are facing this problem and we have received the same comment from the tenants. Their property management arm offer very poor service. As a landlord we are facing this problem and we have received the same comment from the tenants. The service levels have dropped even further after relaxation of covid rules which is surprising. So the fee being taken for a fully managed service is a big waste. The local branch has also washed their hands off and keep pointing us to their property management team.

Extremely high fees that\'s when they speak at the speed of light to you.

First Carly had met us at the property realising she had forgotten the key fob. My husband and I were supposed to see two properties in the same block. When Carly returned with the key fob to get us into the complex, she was struggling to use the key fob and unlock doors due to the length of her extremely long nails. Just before we arrive at the first apartment she said the other property had gone so we could only see the more expensive apartment left. The apartment considering it was supposed to be brand new was extremely grubby. When questioned about the place getting a professional clean apparently it had one already even though the glass and mirrors were stained with thick dirt. Carly forgot the keys to show us the balcony. When asked about fees she speaks at the speed of light and coincidently did not gave a pen or paper with her like most professional agents do. I was also exttemely annoyed that I was not called to be informed about the other apartment being off the market when I checked on yheir website ot was still available. Be extra cautious about using thsee criminals.
