James from the Didsbury branch did our viewing on Saturday June 30. Prior to this, James was notified on 2 separate occasions that we wanted our key put into our letterbox after the viewings. James from the Didsbury branch did our viewing on Saturday June 30.
Prior to this, James was notified on 2 separate occasions that we wanted our key put into our letterbox after the viewings.
This did not happen. When James was contacted, he was asked where the key was.
He said he put it in the letterbox. When asked which letterbox, he put the key in someone else's letterbox.
Asked why he didn't put it in ours, he said he put the key in the box above or below ours!!
We live in an apartment block.
As of Monday July 2, we still do not have our key. James has not apologised. His comment was very blase, he told my wife, it's not got your house number on!!!
Very poor service .
Avoid at all costs.

Earlier this year I needed to sell my mother's empty flat. We checked out 3 local estate agents before choosing Gascoigne Halman.
After Nathan viewed the property and agreed the asking price, Andrea sent me a copy of the details for me to amend before publishing. After that they kept me informed of what was going on, and always checked with me before taking any prospective buyers to view the flat.
I have little experience of some of the current aspects of property selling but, between them, they helped me out with any queries.
I believe that they checked the whole property thoroughly before the sale was completed - including the recently vacated garage.
The whole team at the Didsbury office have been helpful and courteous and do seem to work well together.

Everyone at Gascoigne Halman was extremely helpful throughout the entire process of selling our house. Our house sale was particularly challenging and a rollercoaster ride with many ups and downs.

Nathan was very professional and offered help and advice in several areas. He was not pushy but ensured that I knew his advice was there if and whenever I needed. He also allowed me time when there were areas I needed to consider and was not contacting me all of time. He was very prompt when getting back to me with issues. He was also very knowledgeable in different areas, e.g. areas which were dealt with by the solicitor versus the estate agent (and he acted as an informal 'communicator' between the vendors and myself with any questions I had), specific areas of the house (i.e. features, building aspects), the survey report (and concerns/aspects within that), knowledge about the area in which I was purchasing and any works which were planned to be carried out in the area in the future - a very good experience!

I used Gascoigne Halman to sell my flat and I was very impressed with their attitude and desire to help me, right from the very start. They were brilliant and understanding when my first buyer pulled out and they found me another buyer within 3 days. The staff are excellent at communication, keeping you up to date and also really helpful at chasing outstanding issues. Christine was so patient and understood our dilemmas when trying to secure a mortgage, she passed on all the information to the vendor, to keep them informed. We felt that she was working just as much for us as the seller which took all our worries away.
It has been a very difficult time with mortgages very hard to secure, but having the confidence in the Estate Agent who completely understands is a very rare thing
We were helping our Son to buy his first home, and for them it was a really difficult time having never experienced dealing with so many different professionals at one time, they really thought they would lose the house because of delays securing the SA302 certificate from the tax office who were partly on strike. Christine was fantastic and assured them throughout that everything would turn out and that she would keep the vendor informed and assure her that we still wanted the house
They have now moved into their first home so thank you to Christine and Nathan for all their help and to Gascoigne Halman for employing excellent staff. August 2014

When we finally sold the property they still helped us out by chasing the buyer and the solictors - i am not sure we would have ever exchanged if they had not pushed things along.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Better customer service - manners, courtesy, politeness when communicating with us. Honesty - giving us the full facts with regards to state of premises structure, parking, insurance, etc. prior to the tenancy agreement being signed. An option for a break clause - never discussed. An option to choose our own gas/electric supplied - not permitted. An option to negotiate the rate of rent - not mentioned.

A very bad experience as a tenant using GH Didsbury! My girlfriend and I moved into a place advertised by GH in March 2013 and found the attitude of their lettings manager (Jackie) to be extremely rude and patronising. Every time contact has been made (since the beginning of the tenancy to present), the same level of contempt and obnoxiousness was demonstrated.
We were also forced to change gas/electricity supplier as part of the moving-in policy and, almost 11 months later, we still owe the previous gas supplier money - all down to GH 'managing' the change-over.
There were issues with the structure of the property which GH did not tell us about prior to the tenancy agreement being signed. Problems with parking were also not highlighted, and neither were the above-average premiums for contents & car insurance.
We have rented for many years and GH Didsbury has been the worst estate agent we have ever dealt with. We have felt that our whole dealings with them have been unbalanced and unfair towards us, and completely in favour of the landlord. We are moving out in March 2014 and we are using Reeds Rains Cheadle instead - a much better estate agent!

I received excellent service. They are very professional. My husband and I both have serious health problems. We had to move after being in that house for 27 years. Gascoigne Halman managed to find a buyer within couple of weeks of putting the sale sign up. I was extremely surprised and pleased by the quick sale, particularly considering the state of the property market and the financial climate. They also gave us emotional support. They demonstrated sensitivity and care until the day we moved into our new home twenty miles away. They assisted us and co-operated with us in buying a bungalow, and they helped us find a professional and dedicated removal firm too. I have no hesitation recommending them to others. In fact I have done so and two houses are up for sale on kings way.
