We used Gascoigne Halman for a recent rental property. If it hadn't been for an early close relationship with the landlady GH would have attempted and successfully got more money out of us than necessary. Summary below:
- we were not made aware of the extortionate costs to sign for the house and were given no explanation as to why we had to pay nearly £500 to sign the contract
- GH attempted to charge us for an inventory cost which the landlady luckily told us she'd already told GH to scrap this from the contract as she was doing it herself
- when reviewing the contract, I found GH had added an extra £100 to the deposit which was not only incorrect but also the landlady wasnt aware so GH would be pocketing themselves
- we were phoned numerous times for up selling of services, i.e. companies GH have a contract with to up sell tv and broadband, elec/gas etc. As an estate agency I expect a contract service not cold calling for other products.
- Landlady informed us GH had cancelled the elec/gas provider without her knowledge in order for a partner company to be the new provider. No consent was given for this and we were not informed either.
- finally we have to pay a ridiculous amount to renew our contract for another 12 months, literally to say yes to another 12 months cost another couple of hundred pounds. Overall such a shocking service, sad to say but the estate agency we dealt with did really live up to the 'cowboy' stereotype of estate agencies. We will not be using (neither will our landlady) again.

I rang Gascoigne Halman to invite them to give a valuation on my property. They were accommodating to my work pattern when arranging a time.
Abi came round was clear in her approach to what they could offer me as a company and advised me on a valuation that would attract buyers and enable me to achieve a realistic, fair price for the property.
The following Monday i rang the office and that evening Abi and Matt came round to measure up and by 4;30 the details were on Rightmove'
The following day and most days that week James or Abi rang with updates to the viewings they had organised for that weekend. I had arranged for their company to do all viewings and they arranged them in block sessions, all i needed to do was leave them to it.
The following Monday i had a string of offers, Abi took the time to discuss each one with me so that i could confidently assess all options.
From this point James kept us in the loop with the chain. Abi or James kept in touch with solicitors on all sides and estate agents giving us total peace of mind that the sale and our purchase were both moving along swiftly and effectively.
Abi and the team at Gascoigne Halman Bramhall allowed us to enjoy what is so commonly known as one of the most stressful things you can do. I would recommend this friendly and hard working branch of Gascoigne Halman without question

From beginning to end James kept us informed every single step of the way, with professionalism, caring and timely updates, dealing with a very difficult probate sale that was fraught with numerous delays. Having been in the customer service industry for over 30 years and dealing with some of the best of the best, Gascoigne Halman are simply exactly that. James provided an excellent and thorough service, under difficult circumstances.

We have recently sold our home thanks to the fantastic work of the Gascoigne Halman team in Bramhall. We initially marketed our home with another Bramhall agent and after several weeks of inactivity (no viewings, no contact from the agent) decided to change to Gascoigne Halman. The Manager Matthew came to see us and discuss or requirements and timelines the day following my call and brought Abi to take photos. We were up and running on 'Rightmove' the same day and within a couple of days had several viewings booked in for the forthcoming weekend. The viewings were completed by several members of the branch including James and each time we were kept informed of feedback etc. The team visited our property so they were able to confidently discuss it with viewers. Within a week we had offers to consider. The offer process was managed for us by Matthew himself and what can often be a very tricky time of negotiations was handled professionally. Throughout this process Matthew kept in contact with us offering expert advice on how to handle the situation, getting us a great price for our home. The team did not stop there and have continued to make sure the process from offer through to completion has been a smooth as possible. I have been really impressed with the office team especially Abi who has known exactly where things are up to every time I have called. I would have no hesitation in recommending the GH Bramhall branch, they did a fantastic job, not something many people can say about their agents.

We recently purchased our lovely family home through Gascoigne Halman Bramhall.James Nicholson was our assigned agent and couldnt have been more helpful. Communication is always key during this rather stressful time but we knew we could always pick up the phone to James if we had any queries and he dealt with the sale efficiently and promptly. The very next day we started to receive numerous phone calls regarding people who wanted to arrange to view our property. We were never short of viewings from people who had sold their own properties ,and were in an immediate position to buy ours. Not once did we have time wasters to contend with!
If we were unable to do the viewings, then a member of staff who had visited our property and was fully familiar with it, would do an accompanied viewing. Fortunately for us we received plenty of serious offers and Gascoigne Halman negotiated on our behalf to secure the price We needed to achieve,within a few days.
Once our property was Sold Subject to Contract ,Abigail Biggs primarily dealt with us from this point on. It was invaluable to have this continuity. She was very efficient and totally proffesional, and kept us well informed with how things were progressing. If We needed an update Abi was always happy to help and enthusiastic. When she was out of the office on other appointments ,the other members of staff would make sure that she called us on her return. Abi went above and beyond our expectations nothing was too much trouble!
The whole Team at Gascoigne Halman in Bramhall was very professional at all times. They work extremely well together. Everybody was upto date with what was going on. They all understand the meaning of great Customer Service! Finally We are settling into our new Home ! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if you are thinking of selling your Home.
