Very poor communication and service levels with many changing people involved during the tenancy process, none of whom take any kind of responsibility or properly communicate with each other. Very poor communication and service levels with many changing people involved during the tenancy process, none of whom take any kind of responsibility or properly communicate with each other. We have used them on and off for a number of years and seen a steep decline in service levels over this period. In the interests of transparency, we are currently involved in a dispute with them over their lack of due diligence and care.

LANDLORDS BEWARE - I put my buy to let flat on with Chancellors. I was (in my opinion) mislead into signing a "sole-agency" agreement with them. In the small print it said I cannot advertise my property with another agent for 52 weeks regardless of if Chancellors find me a tenant. Chancellors did not have 1 single viewing for my property in 4 weeks. I told them I wanted to take it off with them and they said I couldn't - this is when the sole agency agreement stuff became clear. Another local agent found 3 tenants all for asking price within 1 week of having the property. Although Chancellors have an office it Kidlington they don't seem to know the area/prices well. I was presented with a bill of 1 years fees for around £1300 along with threats of legal action. I had to pay this fee even though they didn't find any tenant for the property or risk the hassle of legal action. Will not be dealing with them - not friendly, professional or understanding (even though I have had a good relationship and used them in the past).

Do not pay these people a penny! Absolutely rubbish service level. They don't follow up unless you ask them to. Our sell has dragged on for almost a year now. Do not pay these people a penny! Absolutely rubbish service level. They don't follow up unless you ask them to. Our sell has dragged on for almost a year now. I know some of it is the buyer's fault but that does not excuse Chancellors for their lack of responsibility to chase and follow up with the buyer and their solicitor. What do we pay these traditional agents for otherwise. Why not go with an online agent?! Ridiculous how long we have waited and now we are still stuck in this nightmare where we don't know where we stand with this buyer who now keeps saying they are waiting for their mortgage offer. This was over a month ago. Why haven't they found the real reason why it's still not moving forward? We are pulling the plug on Chancellor today. Useless agent. The bigger the name the worst they are. Zero sense of duty to their customers. Stop going to these so called high street agents who think they can just lure you in just because they have a shop front. It means nothing and I see no reason to pay them more than an online agent. None whatsoever! Unbelievably appalling service.

We had a bad experience with this agent - both staff listed no longer work for this office, they have a very high turnover of staff who leave quickly and without warning in some cases. Our property was originally overpriced by Nick Sampson. Our advert went 'live' before it was proof read by us. Weekly email marketing updates are confusing & no substitute for a phone call. This office was supposed to share details with another local office, we are between two, they lied. The other offices were not informed. We were sent a Trainee Negotiator fresh to the industry to conduct a viewing, his inexperience showed when he asked what the green thing in the garden was - the oil tank! Second viewings and viewings were often not followed up. On one occasion our property was left unlocked after a viewing. And sin of all sins for not checking the contract on my part, Chancellors locked us into a 24 week contract. So we lost the spring and summer season before we could change to another more efficient agent. If this review does anything, please do check who's selling what where and how many - there are plenty of websites that can do this for you. Chancellors is run on an area basis and is affected by its overall group manager. Oxford, Cowley, Summertown and Kidlington are shocking, Chipping Norton office is the best agent in its area. As for Kidlington - do please avoid.

We have recently advertised our flat with Chancellors Kidlington and are very disgusted with the service we received. First of all we were assured by one of the staff that we would definately get �995 for rental in Kidlington, as they had let a flat round the corner for the same price. As time went on there were plenty of people who viewed the flat but no takers. I was then advised from other agents that the rental we were asking was far too high. I then asked for the rent to be lowered to �950.ONO. The flat had been fully refurbished. It was now 16 weeks and still no takers. Had they advised us that the reason people were not interested was that the price was far too high. Had they suggested lowering the price to a more realistic rent for that area, the flat would have been let long ago. Unfortunately we signed a contract for 24 weeks (6months) which we didn't read fully and were told that we could not advertise with any other agent. If we did they would charge us the full fee of �540 if we went to another agent. In the end we decided to send a cheque for �540 which was delivered by hand Friday evening and Monday morning we received an email saying that the cheque had been left on the Office desk and shredded by the cleaners Saturday night!!! No other Letting Agent has this policy for 6 months and I feel that this is very unfair and threatening. The day after I asked another Letting Agent to advertise the flat at �875 it was taken the same day. We suggest that if Chancellors change their policy they might get more satisfied customers.

Nick and his team have been fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. They always kept me informed, were never pushy and always a pleasure to deal with. On the one occasion. I did have a problem Nick took time to help me get a happy resolution for all parties rather than dismissing me to my solicitor, for which I was very grateful. Likewise Sam and other members in the branch were always polite and helpful.

I said i got a text message few minutes ago! Yes its sold is the answer. I have now bought property thro another agent, so unsusbribed email but I couldn\'t stop texts. So called again and said can you please stop sending texts, they asked why and I said you never showed me any property and I bought thro other agent. Said ok bye and hung up! Not even apology!
