Chancellors Henley-on-Thames were excellent throughout the process of selling our property. They advertised widely with very good photos - also shown prominently in their window in Henley's main street. Our sale was managed by Robert Penford who advised us well throughout. It was his personal service that made the difference - being with prospective buyers on their visits and helping us with advice throughout. A particular strength of Robert's was the way he kept open a channel of communication: it was always easy to speak with him and he kept us continuously up to date with developments (even after hours!) - he worked really hard to make our sale happen - something we couldn't have done ourselves.

In branch is great. Head office who do the admin is beyond awful - regularly forget why your paying extra (internet), tell you end of tenancy deep clean is required (even though it wasn't done when you moved in), you have to chase up 3 times on any email, they get the leaving date wrong, ... In branch is great. Head office who do the admin is beyond awful - regularly forget why your paying extra (internet), tell you end of tenancy deep clean is required (even though it wasn't done when you moved in), you have to chase up 3 times on any email, they get the leaving date wrong, and I'm in the process of reporting them for data protection breach as shared my details with third party contractor without my permission. A real shame as the office in Henley is great, head office awful - AVOID!

My family and i had to move and we found Sam by far the most helpful, kind and energetic agent for a long time. He really enjoys what he is doing and went above and beyond his duty for us. He is the reason we actually decided to rent with Chancellors.
Unfortunately i can't say the same of head quarters... their service to us wasnt great. Specially as somebody left the company and it seems no handover took.
Nonetheless I would recommend chancellors in Henley due to Sam!

Forgot to upload on rightmove or their own site. No feedback following viewings. People turning up when not expected. Inappropriate viewings. No positive action following our complaints or request for a better service - their attitude is that theirs is 'not a service based contract'. Scaling back the advertising of our property whilst making threats of legal action since we gave notice to terminate our contract.

I have had a few problems with vendors looking at offers made after mine was excepted and found the staff at Chancellors to be extreemly honest and upfront in explaining the whole process to me and dealing with concerns I have had. I find the staff in Henley to be very helpful, quick to respond and trustworthy. I have viewed a few houses with the company and the staff sit back and let you explore without "selling", but are on hand to answer questions and will find answers if they do not have them to hand. I would certainly either buy or sell with them in the future.

Not informed about a significant monthly service charge on the prospective property until the papers were being signed with the solicitor.agent refused to remove the house we were buying from websites, or advertise as 'sale agreed'. We later learnt mr wagstaff was calling homeowners and advising them that if they sold their property with chancellors they could get them a great deal on 'our' house.Two disgusting examples of misrepresentation. The vendor pulled out at the last minute, but we feel the agent was fully aware this could happen, but still pushed us into selling our property, spending money on surveys, solicitors etc . The agent behaves dishonestly and tried to bully us into selling our house with them too, harassing us with phone calls daily and trying to lure us by quoting unrealistic house price evaluations . A rogue estate agent who should be avoided at all costs.

We received terrible service resulting in our sale falling through. The agent was consistently interfering in discussions between our solicitors and even the survey. We were misled on many occasions and were told one thing when very clearly something else was going on. The whole time we were negotiating contracts they left the property online for sale and we were informed very suddenly 2 days before signing that the vendors had pulled out. No doubt the agent had persuaded them he had a buyer willing to pay a higher price for the property. Absolutely disgusting.
