I have got to know Valerie over the last few years as a result of visiting the office numerous times on a search for rental properties to purchase. Always friendly and welcoming. Answers lots of questions!! I have now purchased 2 properties with an interest in a third. Valerie has made the whole process less stressful (the rest of the staff have always been supportive). I have not been pressured into viewing or potentially buying properties that do not meet my criteria. If a new listing meets my criteria Valerie will give me a call giving me a chance for an early viewing. Basically as a buyer i'm a happy camper!!

Comments on Agent Fees
No one likes fees but the agent really worked hard for them so I don\'t mind having to pay them if they do a good job. Had they not not this review would be very different
My wife and I were first time buyers so went to all of our local estate agents to ask if we could view properties in our price range and made as many appointments as we could, we were first let down by another local agent as they couldn't make a viewing we had booked then another said they had only two houses near our price which were in fact over it but nick came up with several for us to look at and made the appointments almost immediately. When we found the house we loved he set to work making recommendations of solicitors to use and negotiating a deal once this was done he sent us all the info we needed and had the property taken off the market which was great. As all the behind the scenes work was going on he continued to follow up checking in with us letting us know of any minor details we needed to know of as well as checking we were happy with everything. All in all he provided a great service and we really appreciated his customer service skills as it made the stress of being a first time buyer so much easier. I would without a doubt use chancellors again for the future.

What agent could do to change your mind?

We used Chancellors when we were looking for a property to rent in West Oxfordshire. At first they were very keen to get us signed to the property in which taking our money was the main priority, this was evident.
When problems occurred during our stay Chancellors were hard to get hold of and when we eventually did get hold of them, we were told they would take a message and get someone to call us back. This usually wasn't until some two days later!
They used obviously cheap cowboys to "fix" the issues we had. They were never properly fixed and their contractor's would wear their muddy shoes on the cream carpet (we had one issue with our shower and the contractor stood in the shower with his muddy shoes on and had the water flowing, he then proceeded to walk through the house!). We were never a specific day or time as to when the contractors would turn up.
When the property was put on the market for sale the agents did not turn up at the property at all and we had to show the prospective tenants around, which we felt was completely unprofessional. When we confronted Chancellors about this issue they gave the excuse that there was traffic even though they are exactly 5 minutes drive from the property. VERY PROFESSIONAL!
When we came to moving out we filled out all relevant paperwork as instructed and yet have not received any post at the address we provided and the new owner returned all our post to sender as they had not been given an address to forward it onto. There was nothing in writing as to how much the check out inventory would cost and it was deducted without notice or permission from our deposit, it would have been nice just to have been informed of this as we do understand that inventories have to be paid for.
Eventually we bypassed Chancellors and went straight to the Landlord, in which the Landlord was very apologetic and said she had noticed the same issues with them herself.
As this is the first bad review I have ever written I feel that this shows that the service we received from Chancellors was less than POOR!

Having had dealings with Chancellors as both a vendor and a buyer I am firmly of the opinion that they the WORST estate agent around, how they keep trading is beyond me. As a seller my house was on the market with them for 6mths last year, and right from the start they were a nightmare. They never gave us a contract, their idea of a valuation consisted of the manager asking 'how much do you want for it?' - ermmm, I don't know, I'm not an estate agent!!!!!, house not going on the market straight away after claiming they had no copies of ID documents, saying we had not presented them, even though myself and my daughter stood there and watched them do it, phone calls not being returned, house disappearing off their website and rightmove, which they never noticed, no explanation given. Very few viewings, and the ones we did get were massively inappropriate - hello! Why would an 80yr old who could barely walk want a 3 floored townhouse? No offers were ever made, the only advice we were given was to reduce price. I returned a missed call from them regarding a viewing and they had no idea who I was despite them only having called 5mins before, they left the keys to property INSIDE the house following a viewing, rarely returned phone calls and were generally useless the whole time! We moved agents and have just sold for only slightly less than the asking price, no problem. As a buyer, so far, at least five house's that they have advertised that ive asked to view are no longer for sale despite there being nothing to say this on the advert leaving me wasting time looking at houses that I can't have, their reason? Apparently they are protecting the clients!!! How exactly? By not telling anybody the house is sold? Or does it just look better that you have lots of houses advertised, it's ok, you can't buy any of them, but look our windows are full of pretty pictures!!!!! I've being trying to arrange a viewing but have been told they can't get hold of the vendor - what? for 3 days? I'm dreading having to deal with them again as they are truly appalling!!!!! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!! I thought it might be localised to one branch, but I've had to deal with 3 different branches and they are all the same. AWFUL!!!!!
