Chancellors have "managed" a property for my family in NW London for the past few years . Aside from awful levels of incompetence, we continually find ourselves dealing with different people in different departments, all of whom are experts in telling us what they cannot do and why, rather than actually doing their job properly. We are still paying them, but we are doing all the management to ensure that matters get dealt with properly and cost-effectively. Worst of all, their attitude (including at management level) is entirely defensive, always denying that they are in any way at fault. If it were possible to award minus starts, I would do so.

Costs a fortune to get out of contract and they're still not returning calls and emails to let us out of it.

Absolutely gutted with this agency. Very poor customer service, poor communication.
They fail to reply in time, just ignoring any comments or complaints. They fail to inform you about rent increases in time, it takes them 2 days to reply to your email...

Absolutely gutted with this agency. Very poor customer service, poor communication. They fail to reply in time, just ignoring any comments or complaints. NEVER EVER USE CHANCELLORS!!
Chancellors manage my last rented property and I can honestly say I have yet to have a positive experience. I informed my property manager of me moving out and conducting a tenancy swap in writing on the 8th May 2019 and to this date (22nd August) the swap has still not been executed. I in-fact moved out of the property almost 8 weeks ago and despite constant chasing to get this swap sorted I am still listed on the contract.
To this date Chancellors still owe me a weeks worth of deposit which have yet to be returned to me despite confirmation of my bank details. All new paperwork was completed by myself, my housemates and the incoming tenant and sent to Chancellors back in June 2019 and despite the fact the team were aware of my move date (end of June) did not receive confirmation of receipt until beginning of July.
As per an email dated 30th July 2019 from my property manager the SWAP had been sent to be processed by the SWAPS team yet it is 3 weeks later and it has yet to be completed! I am getting increasingly fed up with chasing on a SWAP that should have been completed when I moved out at the end of June. It is now nearly the end of August almost 2 months later and my name is still on a contract for a property that I no longer reside in. I have given Chancellors the benefit of the doubt throughout all of this but considering there is no longer any reason for a delay I do not understand the hold up!
Chancellors do not rapidly respond to emails or phone calls and have dragged their heals on this tenancy swap for almost 3 months now. Even after complaining to Head Office this has not sped the process up any quicker.
For my new property I partook in a tenancy swap that took a matter of weeks not months.
For your own sanity and stress levels keep well away from Chancellors!!!!!

This has got to be the worst Estate Agents out there. Not only do they lie with ease, forget they had told the same lie before and then repeat it a year later, if you want to rent property from them....please watch out. We rented a house from these Estate Agents in Bracknell about 1 year ago. You would not believe it but on the day we were supposed to move into the said property........we arrived to find items of previous occupants strewn all over the place, filth and waste and uncleared rubbish, etc. Not only did we have to force these agents to clean up the property but in the process they lost keys to the property and we could not move in for 10 days! When we did move in there were still blocked sinks and uncleared rubbish and so much destroyed in the property that we kept having to call to have fixed. Even after moving out of the property a year later the ordeal still did not end......these agents tried to swindle us of as much money as they could......something about paying inventory clerk extra and refusing to release any part of deposit until we had to make a complaint with the Deposit Scheme. Avoid at all costs, very unethical set of people. You would expect better from a bigger company but unfortunately not

The Chancellors head office team paid wrongly to the previous land lord (Same tenants continuing in the property since I bought this property) and CHANCELLORS are adamant that they will not pay me unless money received back from the previous land lord
This is ridiculous and Chancellors made a admin mistake and they are dragging me along for a long time for their mistakes
I have a proper tenancy with Chancellors and not with a previous land lord or my tenants
Apparently the tenants are Ok and heard they are paying regularly
Still Chancellors have not paid me as on date

Long saga of multiple calls, emails, unanswered questions, repeat the cycle, for what should have been a couple of months of work and marketing and has extended for more than half a year. Individuals are pleasant and sometimes knowledgeable but no one appears accountable for anything or prepared to take the initiative, least of all for customer satisfaction, prompt results, good financials. Its impossible to know who to deal with, who can make a decision, especially if someone is on "leave" which happens frequently and is incredibly frustrating, time consuming and has cost me significant money in lost opportunity. They badly need a single account manager for each landlord and probably a senior management overhaul.

Poor listening and communication skills make life as a landlord (and for the tenants) 100x harder than it's ever been. Too many cooks leads to no attention to detail as well as endless calls, emails and mistakes. The smallest of which get dragged out. Incredibly tiring to deal with. Sadly cannot recommend. Stuck with them for the foreseeable future.

As a renter, In hindsight would not use them again. The contract is too much in their favour. They are poor communicators and got the rental charges quite wrong in their favour. I was in fact always well ahead in rental payments. It was eventually corrected but not soon enough such that it might have caused the early eviction although no reason was offered or required in accordance with the contract. When leaving the rented property the check-out charges against the deposit seemed very excessive and were unsubstantiated. I eventually got them reduced by 33% (still too high though) but not before indicating that I was going to use the arbitration service. Given they profited from my good custom it is hard to see the value for money. They also seem to provide better support to the landlord but I assume that is profit driven too. There was little or no acknowledgement or their poor administration of the tenancy.

Had a rat came from under the sink Main water outlet into the property ate doors and food. 3 days of cleaning and bleach the agent got a vermin inspector out the rat was caught once poison was taken each day after work more cleaning when I finally moved out this year the main office in Bracknell lost the pest control documents even though they instructed the pest control via the landlord I had copies of which I sent them ,after this the landlord billed me for damage caused by the rat. From my deposit. Even thought I had no control over the vermin entering the property the hole was already there my deposit was returned after. 7 weeks. Of endless emails etc I had to get the Tenancy Deposit Scheme Dept involved to raise a dispute. , painful experience.
