I have literally just completed my sale through Cubitt (Arundel) and have now moved into my new home. The process was made so, so much easier by having a team of people who are helpful, flexible, and very tolerant of my up-and-downs. We all know how stressful a sale and move can be. They also took into account a medical condition that I have when I asked if they could do their utmost to minimise the stress and issues that are a natural part of moving in the UK...and they listened!

I use Cubitt & West pretty much every time I move and as I believe this is the fifth, or sixth time...that kind of speaks for itself.

I cannot recommend Cubitt and West strongly enough when buying and selling a house. I cannot recommend Cubitt and West strongly enough when buying and selling a house. I have used them over four/five times in the last 20 years and they are without a doubt the best at what they do in the South at least. They are personable and friendly and that makes ALL the difference in my opinion, and experience. A big thank you to Rosie, their office secretary as she is always so helpful and has gone the extra mile in communicating, and amending information quickly and efficiently and believe me when I say I am quite prone to changes of mind.

We were recommened by a friend of ours to use this estate agents and were very pleased we did.
The service we got was second to none the time and effort put into finding our new home was fantastic...kevin tafft and derek weston helped us above and beyond what we were expecting.....found them very friendy and the expert advice they gave was us was very helpful....these guys pin pointed the perfect house for us and we couldnt of asked for more were very happy and would use them again for sure.....highly recommened 10/10.

Agent didn`t phone or turn up. I`d travelled from London to Saltdean to view a flat. I was left outside in the freezing cold. Another agent appeared 30 mins later for an appointment with another couple to view the same apartment and was rude and totally unprofessional. It was a wasted journey.

I had read online that Cubitt & West have a reputation for bullying customers into using their exhorbitantly priced services and that it is a terrible place to work, which is one of the reasons we didn't use them as our agent; however having viewed ONE property which was way above our stated budget they continuously called and harrassed us, offering us more properties above budget and trying to bully us into using their financial services and solicitors, etc. This did not stop even after we told them that we had an offer accepted on a house and had everything in place! In the end we had to block their number just to get rid of them. If I ever see another property I will make sure it isn't with Cubitt & West.

As a buyer you don't have a lot of choice other than to use the agent that is selling the house you want. As a buyer you don't have a lot of choice other than to use the agent that is selling the house you want. I've had the misfortune for this to be Cubitt and West twice now, although its the Arundel branch that draws most of my ire.
From the point you put an offer in you get the hard sell to use their mortgage broker and go over all your finances.
During the negotiation process we were not well informed. Several times they couldn't even be bothered to call us back about offers we had made. I waited a week once to hear back about an offer. You speak to a different person each time, none of them know or care anything about you.
When the offer on our doomed purchase was accepted it just got worse and worse. Things we'd been told about the property were manifestly untrue when plans and searches came back. Getting a call back for anything took days.
When things started to go really wrong it just became farcical as stories changed by the hour and contradictions abounded. None of them could remember what their most recent version of events was and finally at crisis point being promised an imminent call back, nothing for 24 hours. At that point I'd had enough.
I am not sure whether the vendor was as two faced, duplicitous and downright dishonest as they appeared to be through the medium of C & W but I do know that if not, their agent did them no favours whatsoever, and ended up costing them many thousands of pounds. It was such a relief when we pulled out and realised we would not have to have anything more to do with any of them.
Fortunately we went through a professional local agent for our next purchase and the difference was like a night and day.
I would never use Cubitt and West to sell through and if I saw a house that they were marketing it would put me off seeing it.
