I spoke to Bridgfords (Nicole) on 31/3/15 to try and arrange a viewing on a property I'd seen on rightmove and zoopla. I asked if the landlord would consider a cat and a dog and they said lets register you with us first and then we can ring the landlord and ask. Hmmm I didn't particularly like that tactic I'd rather they just let me know first. They didn't endear me with the question 'what's your credit rating like' either. I thought, wouldn't they see that if I wanted to pursue the property after seeing it. Anyway, I got a call back and they said the earliest they could arrange me a viewing for this property was Sat 4/4/15 and she said because of the price this property wouldn't be around for long. I thought no well it will be if you can't get viewings arranged earlier than that. I was keen to see the property so told them I was happy to swop my shift at work so I could make it to the viewing. I then get a call from Tracey at Bridgfords 2/4/14 to state we've had to cancel the appointment we made for you. There's a tenant still in the property and they won't haved moved out by the Sat so could they ring me on Tues 7/4/15 to rearrange another viewing date. Barefaced liar. I looked at the property again on rightmove later that night to see it suddenly had 'let agreed' on it. I am fuming at the fact that they outrightly messed me about after knowing full well I arranged my work to accommodate for a viewing. I'm so sick of these agents telling lies and wasting my time but hell, when you can't even get to view the properties there's no hope for anyone. I wish I could contact the landlord and let them know. If I was a landlord trying to let a property and they were doing that with potential tenants I'd go nuts. How did they end up with 'let agreed' if they couldn't arrange viewings until next week when the tenant would have only just gone. Because you've had viewings that's why. What I don't understand is, why lie to me. Why not just say we have a couple of other viewings already arranged or actually the landlord won't accept a cat and a dog but we couldn't face telling you.....idiots. I'll never look at any property to buy or rent from Bridgfords now.

I will never recommend Bridgfords to anyone. They are very fast to take your rent but slow to sort out any issues. When you talk to them about any issue they promise to talk to the Landlord but never do - We only had our boiler fixed because we spoke to the Landlady directly.
Finally, when you are about to move out they come up with false and petty claims during the checkout inspection just so they have a reason to keep your full or a large portion of your deposit. From reading other reviews, it seems like they are trained to point out unnecessary issues with the flooring as they also did so with me ( they noted that a bead and rubber band that fell from my daughter's hair meant the whole floor was not properly cleaned).
Stay well clear. It is evident that they are a law unto themselves and they will do what they have to do to make money off tenants before they leave at all costs.

I had let my property quite happily through Bridgfords on a two year lease. The tenants, Tracy Armstrong and Michael Regan-Davies flitted with to heir children after 12 months. I obtained a CCJ against them for some £4,800.00 for gap rent until new tenant found and reparations for damage, they applied to have the judgement set aside but were refused and the CC judgement for debt was upheld. I have not been able to enforce the judgements because I don't know where they are hiding. Bridgfords refused to pay the £1,300.00 deposit to me in repeat ion and are still, after nearly two years hanging on to it. Clearly they should not to be trusted to be employed as letting agents and I would advise anybody thinking of doing so to seek an agent who will act for THEM not themselves or the errant tenant. I finally fired them eighteen months ago when the failed quite spectacularly to provide the support they were being paid to provide.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Just be professional , do the job they are paid hansomely to complete Communication was poor and the complaint was simply handled by kicking upstairs with no effort at resolution.

We had an offer which they failed to pass on to us ( A breach of the law as well as their professional standards) We lost a sale as we were away for 2 weeks and only heard of the offer as we had a frustrated letter pushed through our letter box by the couple who had put forward the offer )

We have had our house up with bridgefords for 2 months. In that time we had one person interested. I asked if they could arrange a later time and was told they would get back to me. They never did and when I rang them they had the cheek to say I cancelled. Unless we have contacted them we have heard nothing. We even paid for extra advertising!!!!!!! What a joke. Please don't listen to the banter it's a sales pitch and they are very good at it. Once you've been reeled in be prepared for a long wait. I expect they sell some houses but those houses could probably sell themselves!!

As a new landlord renting my property for the first time I was concerned about using an agency. Bridgfords in Northwich have exceeded my expectations and have been fantastic from the first moment i walked in, their staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They talked me through all options, answered all my queries and kept me updated throughout the process which helped to put my mind at ease, they also found a tenant for me in a short space of time, considering this was just before Christmas I was very pleasantly surprised. I would recommend using this agency to other landlords and would gladly use them again.
