We have been renting through Leaders in Haywards Heath for the past 2 years and have had nothing but a bad experience of them - thankfully our property was managed by our awesome landlord and not by Leaders. We have experienced everything from lost paperwork with our bank details on which was then our fault (somehow!) as the rent was taken on time, experiencing their banking problems on taking our rent one month (which whilst not directly their fault, they still proceeded to blame us even though they knew about the problem), asking them to ring you back and not getting the call - you then phone them and without fail the stock phrase is "I was just about to call you", their high fees, being painfully slow when asking them to do something - I could go on! We have now got to move out as our landlord is selling the house and due to a severe lack of properties in the are, we have found one we want through, you guessed it, Leaders, but needs must. I'll let you fill in the gaps but it has now taken 3 working days to tie up a new let despite us paying the full asking amount and offering to pay 6 months rent in advance - and it is still not dealt with!! Go figure!!

I would be interested to find out some more about the issues you have experienced especially if you are still a tenant of ours. Did you make any official complaint to the office so that we could have dealt with the problems you had? Our fees are all up front and on our website for transparency, an information sheet is always provided on the viewing aswell if not before. We are confident these fees are very competitive and are in line with fees other agents charge and are also reflective of the service we normally aim to provide. All rent is paid by standing order so we do not have control over these payments. Sometimes securing a property for someone can take time depending on the circumstances and how many people are involved in the situation e.g multiple landlords and tenants, we are the middle man most of the time so our timescales for giving answers and tieing things up are dictated by other parties but this is not something we would delay on purpose that I know for sure, there must have been a genuine reason for the delay. They made us false promises to get us to sign the tenancy agreement (fixed term), then it later turned out the issue they had deemed fixable within a week was going to take months to be fixed. Asking for agent's fees given they offered no assistance is ridiculous.

I have been renting for 5 years and Leaders are now ranked among the worst agents I have had to deal with. We have had a water leak in our flat for almost 3 months now and have been lied to repeatedly about when it would be fixed. When we signed the contract, they assured us the leak would be fixed within a week. It is now 2 and a half months later. We had someone come into our flat without our permission when we were away, breaching our contract, to which the agent offered vapid apologies but did not see the severity of a stranger entering our flat without our knowledge or consent. The amounts of times we have received an email including the words 'sorry there was a mix-up/miscommunication/misunderstanding' is absurd. They are incredibly unprofessional, clearly do not communicate with each other in the office, have staff that complains to you as their customer how they are not qualified for their own role and one particular person has initially responded to our emails with a defensiveness I have rarely come across. Since we signed the contract, they have been complacent and we, as tenants, had to correspond with the property manager ourselves to arrange any works taking place, which makes me wonder why we had to pay tenancy fees in the beginning. Whenever we contact them, they have no updates for us, and only chase the relevant party after being prompted by us again. They often leave days before replying to urgent emails. I would strongly advise against dealing with them. They might seem professional when you first interact with them at the viewings stage, but if you ever have an issue with your rented property, you will soon realise you are on your own.

We have a number of properties placed with Leaders, some our investments but one is our home which we are renting out whilst we are abroad. The service levels provided by Leaders is excellent, they always find tenants promptly and they are of a high standard. On the one occassion that there was an issue with some tenants Leaders dealt with the situation in a very professional manner and resolve the problem to both parties satisfaction. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone considering renting out properties.

First time we've ever rented out a property and first came into contact with Vicki at Leaders around 18 months ago. Lots of work to be done to bring the place upto a rentable standard, hence why the long delay. After most jobs scheduled or completed a valuation was obtained.
Placed with Leaders and were kept informed at all times regarding viewings and offers.
Seemed to go above and beyond the 'call of duty' when mis-typed gas certificate noticed and workmen failed to call.
All in all, very impressed...Would use again!!

Following initial discussion on the telephone I met the agent at the property and was shown around. I needed to make a decision quickly as there was a waiting list, and was given excellent information about the documents and initial funds I would need to retain the property. Once agreed I met with the agent on the moving in day and was taken carefully though the documentation and the contract. After this the agents were very helpful, and informative, including for the 3 month inspection.

I highly recommend Leaders as letting agents. I used them amongst others when looking for property as I was moving from Cornwall to West Sussex. Mary in particular was helpful and informative, having to rent property mainly on an arms length arrangement and within a tight timescale was not easy.... Read Full Review

I highly recommend Leaders as letting agents. I used them amongst others when looking for property as I was moving from Cornwall to West Sussex. Mary in particular was helpful and informative, having to rent property mainly on an arms length arrangement and within a tight timescale was not easy. But she kept me in touch with progress, worked around my time commitments and on the day of my move, after a horrendous journey up from Cornwall, even made my dog welcome in the office. Any issues I have since with the property have been dealt with by Leaders quickly and with the minimum of fuss.

I had a tenant in late 2011 who did not move out when they should have and the Leaders team were very good in helping us evict them with minimum fuss and a much shorter time span than I feared would be the case. I use the Leaders Premuim Service which proved hugely valuble in those doifficult circumstances. I would definitely recommend that service.
Rent has always so far been paid on time and in full.
