I have enjoyed superb service from this agent in finalising a lease of property for my daughter. Jodie Stewart dealt with us throughout and made the transaction both easy and enjoyable. Alexia Christodolou was assigned as the property manager for our flat when we moved in at the beginning of September but has since then failed to respond to ANY of our emails and calls for more than 6 weeks. As a result many important issues with the flat are still unresolved after nearly two months: broken kitchen appliances, missing blinds, faulty wardrobes etc⦠It is extremely frustrating being unable to contact the agent responsible for this and we sincerely regret choosing a flat managed by Portico.

Some of these comments apply to the Islington branch, but all of our contract issues seem to come from the Head Office.
By neglecting to tell us the full requirements before giving a move in date, we were forced to wait 2 week (which we had to pay for) before we were allowed to move into the property because 'checks took longer than normal'.
Maintenance took 3 years to clean a balcony (an agreed term to moving in).
Took several months to fit a front door lock (which was left as a rough sawn gash in the door for over a week).
Person handling the contract (Levi) went on holiday and didn't tell anyone about our contract so we were forced into a rolling tenancy, where one tenant is paying for a room after they've moved out.

I was renting property from PORTICO, when, during my time there, they flatly ignored emails and phone calls. I was lucky to have lawyers advise me but if you don't, then stay away. Never renting from these people again. At one point someone said to me that it wasn't their job in a single line email reply at which point I had to email them back and tell them that it was part of their job to at least refer me to people who could help me (and I had to detail the job specifically) which they then finally did. .. so infuriating you just have to laugh. And now that I've left, I went for a smaller estate agent and they are lovely! Apparently Portico's incompetence is famous in the trade.
