Was buying a property through JLL with an agreed sale only to be gazumped two weeks later. Agents are not allowed to show people an apartment once a sale has been agreed. Was buying a property through JLL with an agreed sale only to be gazumped two weeks later. Agents are not allowed to show people an apartment once a sale has been agreed. JLL claim that the new buyer saw the property the morning that the sale was agreed (how convenient) and insisted on putting in a higher offer (two weeks later).. hmmm. They say they cant prove this as it would be breaching customer confidentiality. Solicitors had already started searches. In the Manchester investment property market buyers don't wait 2 weeks to make an offer. I am taking it the ombudsman to investigate. From the reviews I see on here, it appears they are not the most honest of agents.

Having agreed the date and time to pick up keys and sign contract we were en route with the removal men driving to our new flat. The letting administrator called us and said there was an issue with our keys (the landlord still had them) and could we change our moving date. We had to explain to her what the real world was like and when a moving date was not only agreed but was in action, there wasn't any going back. I was already about to start complaining that they were in breach when miraculously the keys could be gained. We had a year with the same administrator. She was rude, obnoxious and ineffective in her role. She always had me wondering why she chose to work in a customer facing role. Our experience moving forward was that of a non responsive, unhelpful organisation. Our next frustrating encounter was when I received a parking ticket when I parked in the guest parking area. It turned out that it wasn't guest parking at all like were told by the agent. When we challenged them on it and asked them to pay the ticket they denied all knowledge of saying it. I then branded them as liars. An accurate judgement as the theme continued for the next two years.

When ever they wanted something they would always ring my partner. Who is a teacher. They would call him literally on the hour every hour. When my partner called he explained that in our world teachers can not just stop class and start talking on their mobile. Instead he asked them to call me who had more availability to take a call. Alas they never did and for 2 1/2 years would call my partner at work in, school consistently. He wasn't best pleased. Usually they wanted to do an inspection where they would just let them self in with no feedback.
Then the building works started. Usually we would receive some letter saying people needed to gain access. It always felt like there was this obligation that the property management or estate agents needs had to take priority over our own. So if that meant us not being in work to accommodate their needs so be it. Unfortunately we were unable to sacrifice our precious holidays time for such things, so the only other option was to allow strangers into our home, unaccompanied. Not great but no other alternative.
I came home one night when I saw a muddy boot print at the door. It was toe to the door. Meaning that someone wouldn't walk nose to door just to knock. The door must have been opened. When I went it I could see gravel tracked in the hall way. In our bedroom great big mud prints that where tracked all around the flat. This was on a day of no scheduled work.
I was more scared then angry. We have all seen scream and my first thoughts were who has a key. So I emailed JLL saying I'll be relieved if you tell me someone went in even if they weren't meant to. Every email I sent bounced back with OOO two people were on maternity leave and the other emailed failed. JLL here is a tip. When all contacts are on any form extended leave. Put a forward on. Or have their inboxes monitored. Oh and on OOO (out of office) offer an alternative method to contact.
I got an email back saying that no one had accessed my property. I emailed back saying I know this not to be true and investigate further as we now have concerns over my safety. I got a reply back asking me to check with my 'House Mate' to see if they have muddy boots.
Talk about a red rag. Every email and communication I have referred to my partner. Do they just always refer to the other tenant as housemate? Or was it assumed as we are same sex? We know they don't have the Ability to retain information and instruction from previous experience. However when I said he's not my housemate I got my first apologetic email. I think she assumed. JLL be careful and I suggest you train your staff on equality or diversity as you really don't want to have the pink pound boycott you as heterosexist bigits.
The strange thing was the week after on the scheduled works. I had the same boot print and mud tracked around the flat. As well as cupboards upturned and toilet roles in the shower. When the rude builder knocked on our door the week before. We were assured we wouldn't know he had been. We knew and I think he was there the week before. I emailed JLL to tell them. I reckon they knew something was not right but as its a direct breach of our tenancy they just did very little.
We decided it was time to move on. The land adjacent was being built on. Builders were blocking us in every morning and when we asked them to move they became verbally aggressive.
You would have thought as a gesture of goodwill they would have waved the �25 fee to fill in a reference form. Instead I had to be quite firm to ensure we did not pay �50 as my partners name was needed on it. Again maybe that's what they do to only to same sex house mates
We moved out 2 months ago the inspection came back with two light bulbs needing replacing. I still have not got my deposit back. When I asked I was told that they needed to get a contractor to quote for the replacement bulbs and as I can imagine this was very low down on their priority list. I started the tenancy dispute process to try and get my deposit back minus two light bulbs.
There is nothing this organisation can do. Their values or lack of them are so clearly aligned to turning a profit in a captured market the best thing that can happen is for them to go bust and the share holders or owners to pay the price for allowing such appalling practice to take place.

We have been residents there for six weeks now and have been promised time and time again that repairs will be completed, but the repairmen only first visited the property last week - and even then - have missed off a number of urgent repairs such as blocked plug holes, broken blinds and broken lights.
I am not one to moan or complain, but the fact is that this has been nothing short of a horrific experience that still shows no sign of ever being resolved. Given that we're paying £950 a month and receiving such a shoddy service it does make me wonder how companies can get away with such blatant disregard.
For the record, if you haven't guessed already, I highly advise against you using JLL for renting (even if the property looks perfect, believe me, it won't be worth the uphill struggle with them after all goes through). I'd also advise, if you are a landlord, to avoid them for similar reasons; after all who wants to have their property managed by someone who isn't going to put any effort to maintaining your property.

My friend and I were looking for a place to rent in Manchester. We found one through Jones Lang LaSalle and decided to take it. We paid the agent fee and didn't get any receipt for that money. Although it was clear that both of us should earn a specific amount of money in order to be eligible for the house, a few days before we move and after a lot of chasing from my part for documents and emails we should receive, they called us to inform us that the landlord decided not to rent us the place because each ONE of us should earn this amount of money. Of course we are not getting back the agent fee which was 300 pounds!!!! A few days later I called as another person interested for a house in their other office in London and asked about our eligibility and their answer was that of course we can rent a place with that money... Never ever ever use this agent.
