I was a prospective customer (with AIP in place, deposit, no chain) and I made an offer on a house in Southsea which I had put a great deal of though into the offer as I am very familiar with the area. Because of the amount of work needed and the amount of time it would take to do, the offer was quite a bit lower than the asking price. I had explained in detail to the sales negotiator and they had put it to the vendor. When Daniel (the Branch Manager) called me to talk to me about it, it was evidence from the off his manner, vocabulary and tone was nothing short of blatantly passive-aggressive towards me. It seemed to me that although he was telling me that the vendor had felt insulted by my valuation of the property and subsequent offer, he'd taken it himself quite personally [!?] I found the whole conversation quite tense and he was extremely dismissive of my feedback and my really quite logical reasons behind the offer. I was very polite, almost apologetic throughout. He terminated the call quite quickly with the shortest of goodbyes after he told me in a fairly unconvincing tone that they'd be in touch with other opportunities as and when they arose.

Suffice to say this it has really put me off buying anything via this agent and certainly I won't be recommending anyone to use them if they treat potential buyers this shoddily when they don't agree with the offer they've put forward on a property.

For the attention of Neil Piper: Having used this company before, I returned to use them again. Nicola was extremely professional and helpful from the very first meeting. She was excellent at providing communication between myself and the vendor and really helpful in setting up meetings with the financial advisor. She was ensured that I paid the best price and did not mind me viewing the property multiple times. Julie was in regular contact and ensured that the vendor was up to date with all the proceedings. I especially liked that she queried some of the decisions made by the solicitors which was where they had made mistakes. All in all, a fantastic, smooth, supportive and very pleasant experience.

Cubitt and West are a breath of fresh air. I have never come across an Estate Agents like them, their honesty and dedication is remarkable. My purchase suffered from many delays but my ability to pick up the phone, often more than once day, and speak with with Claire or Julie really gave me comfort. Furthermore, I truly felt that I had professional team working trying as hard as I was to push the sale through- they were in very regular contact with both sets of solicitors as well as third parties involved. I've had a fantastic expereince in my dealings with Cubitt &West and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

I have just brought my property through Cubitt & West's branch in Southsea, Portsmouth. Claire Schindelka was the memember of staff I dealt with the most. I cannot praise Cubbit & West enough, and Claire is a credit to the company. Southsea has all the 'big names' in Estate Agents, but even when I first started to look around for a property Cubitt & West stood out to be the most helpful & professional. I also ended up using their recommended Solicitors too which also made the whole process quick. When I sell my property next or rent it out, I would now always and only use this branch, and hopefully Claire will still be there. I would highly recommend Cubitt & West Southsea to sell, buy or rent any property. Thank you Cubbit & West for all your help though out the process. And a BIG thank you to Claire. Marcus and his team have constantly gone the extra mile to ensure my property is marketed and proactively managed. I have a busy and demanding job which means I do not have the time to focus on marketing / letting my property. Since Marcus and his team have overseen the management of my property I have not had to worry or get involved in the day to day management of my rental property. I know the property is in safe hands and any issues are assessed and managed with little or no intervention. Any key decisions / changes which require expenditure are assessed and formally presented to me with a list of options and proposed solutions which saves me time, worry (and typically a cost saving given their network of preferred contractors). Any issues are diligently managed and monitored and as the customer, I and actively kept appraised of the progress. Marcus and his team deliver a great service; efficient, professional, proactive and productive - so much so that I wish I had invested in their services earlier.ÂÂ

He has a friendly manner & explains things in simple terms which has given us confidence in renting out our 1st investment property. I dealt predominantly with Nicola and latterly with Julie during the rather drawn out purchase of my property.
They were both excellent at getting back to me extremely quickly, cheerful and professional at all times. At points when things were looking a bit tricky they were helpful, supportive and sympathetic.
This is my third home purchase over the last 5 years and they outshone the other agents that I have used by a country mile.
The lady who initially showed me the property who was also called Nicola was also excellent, bubbly, informative and genuinely interested in finding me the house I was looking for.
Dealing with Cubitt and West has been a great all round experience and I would happily recommend them.

I have dealt with many real estate agents in Portsmouth over the years, My recently purchase experience using Cubbit & West definitely put it to Number 1 of my list. I dealt with 'Fine & Country' before which is a so called 'highend real estate agent' in portsmouth, and their service was slow and rude, it was nothing as good as cubbit & west.
The house I purchased was a very tough buy, lot's of things has gone the wrong, the solicitor, the seller, the search, the maintenance fee...you name it.
But Claire Schindelka, who has been extremely helpful and supportive from start to finish really made a huge difference. There were lots of personal touch in her service, she was always very patient and took time to explain things to me, she listened to my long winded complaints and helped me to get to the solution, and helped me to push things when other parties were not doing their jobs.
Everytime I left a message to her she always replies and acknowledge she received my message. There were lots of effecient and clear communication, which is what I think the most important thing. It shows people care.
I am very looking forward to do business with Cubbit & West and Clarie again in the future!! Many Thanks Clarie.

I felt like I was important to the staff and I truly believe that they cared about trying to make my experience and my sale go as smoothly as possible.
