The decision to make a move came around very quickly for us and not understanding the process all of a sudden it became a whirlwind move and potentially very stressful until we employed the services of Lee, Mo, Maddy, Heather and Cheryl of the Petersfield Cubitt & West.
We had found a property to move into so needed to sell our home quickly and invited Lee round to value our home and subsequently instructed him and his team to find us a buyer.
Within 1 week we had a full asking price offer however with a small chain below. As we were unaware of the processes involved we were kept up to date to timescales and the situation regularly. Although people say moving house is one of the most stressful periods of your life we can honestly say dealing with everybody at Cubitt & West has allowed us not to experience any stress atall.

Had been looking for a place in Petersfield for a few months. Put sealed bids on a place through Cubitts, and eventually was chosen as buyer. Everything seemed okay to this point, then things slowly went downhill.
Was forced to use the same solicitor as the seller (was told we had to do this to secure it). Paid for all surveys, legal costs, etc. Solicitors - LS law, located somewhere up north. Absolutely the worst law firm to deal with, liars, and inept.
Over the course of several months was promised sale was progressing, when we had distinct feeling things were not going well. Of note, branch manager Richard Coyle was a particularly slippery character, who lied about the situation repeatedly. In the final stages of the sale falling through, he avoided calls, and even hid upstairs in the local office.
These characters seem to have a total contempt for valid buyers. I was often told how lucky I was to be purchasing the property. In a sellers market they can afford to be like this I suppose, I wonder how they will change their tune if and when it becomes a buyers market.
I would say avoid at all costs, but unfortunately if your dream property is listed with them, be prepared for a rocky ride!

dreadful communication I wasn't notified when viewings were cancelled they locked us out of our property and we had to climb in through a window, they left the house wide open doors unlocked and open after a viewing and didn't inform clients that their viewing guide wasn't doing the viewing and the people were hanging around outside waiting for estate agents to turn up I had to go outside and introduce myself and the people were furious as they had been waiting 15 minutes this happened twice in one day

What agent could do to change your mind?

We were told on more than one occasion they couldn't do weekend viewings as didn't have any staff. They uploaded photos we had not approved to the website - twice! The brochure was initially inaccurate (rooms wrong on floorplan, wording incorrect) and grammatically awful so we had to rewrite it as the administrator couldn't. Photographer asked if we could take more photos and email them to him. No marketing expertise in office a all. We received a text 10 minutes before a viewing that we knew nothing about simply telling us they were going to enter our property as their client couldn't wait to arrange an appt. The message was simply to let them know in that 10mins if it wasn't ok (they had no permission for viewings without agreement). We cancelled our contact immediately based on this abuse of our privacy and (despite them agreeing to our demand to end the contract and return our keys that same day) it then it took another complaint email and four days to get our listing off their website and the other commercial sales sites.

We neve received the services they offered (like our property appearing in new searches very three day, a premium listing on rightmove etc) and Nigel, the branch manager, has never been in touch since the day he did the unauthorised viewing.
