We went with Clyde to rent our house out while we lived elsewhere. Things are fine as long as they're not required to do anything. We went with Clyde to rent our house out while we lived elsewhere. Things are fine as long as they're not required to do anything. Every time things go wrong, instead of taking care of it, they contact you.... So there really is zero point in paying them a monthly fee. I'd recommend using them to find a tenant but not using any of their regular services as they have such a high turnover of staff and a different department for everything. There is no continuity and no competence and they will often try to charge you for unnecessary work, inspections and certificates so make sure you know your rights. Our stress levels are much lower since we started renting our home out as private landlords after our last tenant moved out. It also cost us a couple of grand to fix poor patch jobs done by their contractors (that we got charged a fortune for). Hopefully one day we will get to move back, but for now I'm much happier that we binned Clyde and decided to go it alone.

Throughout the entire process of moving there was poor communication, to the point where there were moments we weren't sure we'd still have a place to live. Even when asking for updates we were shrugged off with no explanation why it was taking so long, and I had to get in contact on the moving day to ask about keys cause they didn't even communicate about that. The one time I did try to complain about the lack of communication the agent spoke over me and pretended I wasn't speaking. It was insulting. The process has made my partner and I feel pawned off and looked down on. Will never use Clyde again. Its ruined what should have been an exciting time.

Clyde have been awful from the start. Unfortunately for us all the properties that we wanted to view were with Clyde. Their communication is terrible. They have told us that works would be done before we moved in and they haven't. We have had contractors turn up without knowing they would be there and leave again, we have asked for a full list of all the work the Landlord is planning and have not received a full list, more things keep cropping up. We have no idea when anything is going to be done as no one has notified us or called us back to let us know. We genuinely have considered moving out just so that we do not have to deal with Clyde!!!! I'm sure if the Landlord was aware of how they are making their tenants feel they would not want to use them again either. Their customer service is shocking and a number of staff have been extremely blunt and curt with us. WE ARE THEIR CLIENTS! This is not acceptable especially coming from a business that is supposed to be reputable. Needless to say we are disgusted with their service and will be getting as far away from them as possible as soon as we can. We will also avoid moving into anywhere that deals with Clyde in the future. We would not even give them one star but you have to.

I have just bought a house through Clyde in Stirling and I was so impressed. They're a great team who really know their stuff, and crucially, they listen. Many estate agents bombard buyers with every house on the market but Clyde really paid attention to the brief. They kept in touch, but also knew when to leave me to think without pressure. And when the chips were down, they really went the extra mile to make the sale happen. Maggie was brilliant, and deftly steered me through the Scottish system (I moved up from England), navigating the fine line between providing guidance and giving advice. And the hand-holding! There was hand holding, because buying a house can be a pretty stressful thing to do, but the Clyde team's warm professionalism minimised any anxiety. I think the most succinct praise I can give is that when I come to sell my house, I'll be selling it through Clyde.

Reported damage to back doors which was never resolved
A leaky toilet was half repaired 6 months after reporting it and was only fixed 2 months before we were forced out due to the landlord selling the property
Having found another property they wouldn't negotiate an early release
Before we moved we were told we had to buy their insurance which was according to trading standards was misselling. when i confronted them the response was 'well you can pull out' on the day we were moving in.
constantly got reminders that we were due them rent because of their clerical error. we were told to fix the error it would cost us £620
Cleanliness of the house was below standard which was reported but still got charged £100 for cleaning the house on departure despite it being in better condition. I was told by the inspecting agent he had found a hair in the shower??? I suggest it was from his head.
Complaints procedure is non existent and no resolution process for the toilet which stank the house out for over a year and a half. They only react when you threaten court action.
Inspections are ridiculous and dates change regularly until your unsure when they are coming. They even inspected the house when my wife was on night shift and burst into our bedroom frightening the living daylights out of her
Inventory was 'lost' and they claimed we hadn't returned it to them.
They are an absolute joke. AVOID!!!!

What agent could do to change your mind?
Very poor quality of service. and Why use a bools in the mouth London Agency to treat people that way I am not renting something I cant afford. 4 years accounts the man is DREAMING.

Then some real posh sounding idiot called and said he was from MARAS in London,, I mean I'm in Scotland dealing with a Scottish company and they veto me with a company in London? When asked why I wish to rent the flat I told this person I have been in business 4 years and I am opening my 3rd branch in Stirling. He then said "you check out ok but I would like to see 4 years of your business accounts" !!! When I stated I would not give him this he then put down the phone and Clyde called me within 5 minutes to inform me I had been turned down for the flat. Refunded the holding money but not the "Reference Fee" Rubbish way to be treated by any one never mind when I only want a wee flat to rent. If I checked out OK that should have been it. I checked out with another agency on a more expensive flat and moved in. Would rather have had the town centre one though. Clyde = Poor.
