I have just bought a flat from Clyde Property. Only the keys to the actual front of the flat itself work, the other keys do not work. Therefore I do not have a key to the main front and back door of the block of flats. Clyde's response - those were the keys we were provided with. Take it up with the Asset Management company/chap a neighbours door and ask to borrow their keys to cut yours cut (an actual suggestion by the branch manager). The keys worked fine when we were doing the viewings/the viewing ladies had problems when they were accessing the flat itself (both were responses by the estate agent). Utterly dreadful customer service.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Would not use again. The whole experience was disappointing. Too many things to improve.
Comments on Agent Fees
I was charged reference fees which is against the law in Scotland.

I recently rented a property over a 12 month period. It was not a great experience and would never rent from Clyde Property ever again.
Clyde Property told me to pay for a reference check with MARAS References. In Scotland, all extra fees including reference checks should be included in the rental of the property. http://www.reclaimyourfees.com/ . I have tried to claim these fees back but Clyde refuse as I never paid them any money directly, which is true, but I should never have paid any fees to anyone. I only paid Maras as I was informed wrongly and completely misled by the Clyde Property agent.
The attitude of the agent was at times quick rude and at times passive aggressive. If it wasn't the house that I wanted and needed at that time I would have walked away immediately.
They told me that they use a professional cleaning service and would have the house cleaned before I moved in, I don't believe this. if anything, the house was given a very basic clean. When I moved in, it took me an hour just to clean the tiles in the bathroom. The light fittings had years of dust on them and the kitchen cupboards were dirty. I did request that they send someone to clean the windows outside which took a weeks wait.
The response time to dealing with issues was lacking. I spent around a month cleaning up puddles of rainwater that would leak from the windows. Any problem I had after that I decided to fix myself as it was quicker and easier and I preferred not to deal with Clyde.
Lastly was the checkout procedure. The issues that they had were laughable and also accused me to taking my own property. I spent an anxious 2 weeks waiting to see if they were actually going to try and take part of the deposit based on this ridiculous checkout list.
I definitely would not recommend Clyde Property to anyone but if you do decide to rent, review the inventory they give you very carefully and take lots of photos, clarify exactly the contract that you have, do not pay any extra fees! and don't expect much in way of customer service. I stayed as long as I did because of the great house, but I'm glad I decided to move.
