We did not in the end instruct Sharman Quinney to market our property because, frankly, their fee was sky high and because it was fixed provided no incentive for SQ to maximise sale price.
We actually went with an online estate agent (Hatched) instead, paid 75% less in fees (with nothing paid upfront - i.e. we agreed that the agent would have no entitlement to commission until completion), and we sold our house after a bit of a bidding war! We haven't looked back and wouldn't change our decision for a second.
Our house sold almost a year ago now.
However...SQ REFUSE to stop calling me/my husband. I have asked them time and time again to stop calling us and to remove our personal info from their records. Luke Pearce (former Hampton branch manager) continued to call, despite our pleas. There were also calls from his colleagues, haranguing us as to whether or not we had found a property to buy yet, citing their 'ability to help'. I was at my wits end and knew the number by heart from having seen that familiar sequence flash up so many times on my phone... On one day, I myself received three calls from them, having in the morning asked them to stop calling me. My husband received two calls and a voicemail message on that same day (timed after my conversation with SQ).
In the end, I made a complaint to head office in Elton because they called me for 'feedback' (on what, I've no idea, because the conversation didn't get that far). I explained the nuisance SQ were being and said that I was baffled by their conduct, given that their local reputation depended on their customers having positive experiences. Mine had been (and continued to be) the polar opposite of positive and SQ were a nuisance. I also explained that when searching for a property, my husband and I consciously discounted any properties we liked but noted as being marketed by SQ. I got an apology and a promise that there would be no further calls.
For a blissful week, there were no calls. On the eighth day, I got a call from Matthew Brown, who introduced himself as the new manager of the Hampton branch. A part of me died inside.
I explained everything and told him to go away. He did.
Four months have passed since that call and I had almost begun to forget to recognise '01733 346111'. However, the number flashed up this afternoon on my mobile...
I'm sorry to say that I went berserk. I am now going to make a complaint to the ICO. I asked the caller (Emma Matthias) what it was that would finally get them to stop calling me. Her answer? 'I don't know'. I think that says it all.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE AVOID THIS AGENT. And that is coming from someone who was never even officially a client.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Not harassed me or my family.

Just bought our house with Sharman Quinney . Christina showed us round a couple of their properties . Lovely bubbly professional manner .she was very attentive to our needs and patient while we took our time looking round asking random questions . Christina had Great vision on how we could adapt to the properties ie taking down walls or putting in bifold doors to make it to suit our needs . Couldn’t have asked for a better estate agent . Thankyou x

Absolutely TERRIBLE...
People, be grateful that you weren't trying to contact Sharman Quinney about a deposit refund during the Covid19 pandemic.
I got in touch with them over 5 times (copied the lettings@ email address into several emails) and called my local office Great Shelford three times. They took down my details and said they'd be back twice... Never came back...
On my third phone call, the guy told ME to email a specific person at the Peterborough office who came back within TEN MINUTES like some kind of miracle! They said "we just hold the deposit, if you have a dispute you must sort it with the landlord first..." This is not good enough because as I EXPLAINED TWICE over the phone and in several emails copying in the lettings@ address (even an email from my landlord saying those exact words are in the lettings@ email inbox....) the landlord told me I had to speak to you. If that's not the case why did I need to wait A MONTH AND A HALF after calling/emailing you multiple times to FIND THIS OUT???????????
I had just moved into a new house and had been furloughed from my job whilst waiting for contact from Sharman Quinney. I watched bills and car insurance be debited out of my account and put me into my debit overdraft. Still I waited. If someone takes your details twice over the phone, something MUST be going on in the background. Nope!
If you want a good estate agent, this is not going to be the one. I can't believe how frustrated I became waiting for a response. I was ready to snap by the third phone call and I certainly expressed my thoughts on email.
The reason why I'm writing a review? I didn't even get a flake of empathy. I didn't get a "we're sorry for the unacceptably long response." or an "I understand you have been waiting for too long and our awful communication is to blame." I didn't even get an excuse like "the lettings@ email doesn't work at the moment."
That kind of customer service puts you from zero into less than zero in my book. You can have your 1 star. I won't ever recommend Sharman Quinney. I will actively tell people to avoid you. You were very efficient in TAKING my deposit but you were completely INACTIVE in helping me to get it back.
Sharman Quinney earn interest on deposit holdings. I HAVE TO PAY INTEREST FOR BEING IN MY OVERDRAFT. Thank you SO much.
They are useless.

Within hours of taking our instruction to market the property we have lots of viewing and have tied up a sale within a couple of weeks. They are excellent at matching their client base to houses available and sending the right people round, so no time wasted. The more they send, the more interest you get and your sold! Good price, reasonable rate, fast efficient service, photo's looked great.. Kept us informed all the way and really made you feel like they were working for you to try and get you a sale at the best possible price. They don't just leave you hanging after the offer is done as they are happy to support all through the process to get the sale over the line. Well done guys. Thanks for all your help

If I could give 0 stars I would have. It's agents like this that give the industry a bad name. Come on guys I know it's tough out there but telling lies, holding back information, not arranging viewings to help sellers get more money for their properties is shocking behaviour and something that I think the owners Mike sharman and Steve quinney would be happy about. These guys have built a strong brand in the area based on trust and delivering a good service to the loca community and the branch is Hampton in letting them down. The communication is poor and I never felt they were ever acting in my interest as a vendor. My advice to people looking to sell in Hampton is use regal park or connells.
