Richard and Michael at WJ Meade were great in relaying communications between us and the vendor. For us it was the accommodating attitude that really stood out- whether this was arranging extra viewings or their quick response on the phone and email when we had surveys completed at the property.

W J Meade, particularly Richard and Michael who we had the most contact with, were brilliant. Richard was sensible and open in valuing our home. He was always pleasant and thoughtful in communication and when conducting our viewings. He handled our offers well and got the price for our house that we hoped for. Then once we had accepted the offer and Michael took over, Michael was incredible during the whole process, particularly as this began just as the pandemic and lockdown started. He always had time for us during a very stressful and challenging period and steered the sale through. He was also helpful as we tried to nail our onward purchase too. Having had a lot of negative experiences with other agents, we would strongly recommend W J Meade.

We could have not picked a better estate agent to sell our late aunts property we just wish we had picked them first instead of later!
Right from the start we were always kept abreast of all activities with a friendly phone call and/or email. We never felt ignored or forgotten about.
Richard Trickett promptly arranged the marketing and viewings and advised us on how to address the concerns that potential buyers were having during viewings i.e. rising damp survey report and to consider having a proper chartered surveyors building survey report and valuation done for the property. He also directed us to such providers. The latter proved invaluable as we soon had a list of eager buyers assured because of the chartered surveyors report in place.
Michael Whitby at WJ Meade then took over and we were impressed with his professionalism and the due diligence checks performed on the potential buyers at an early stage. This all helped to conclude the sale successfully. Even when unforeseen problems arose with the buyer’s mortgage lender Michael stepped in and offered sound advice to us and every week chased the buyer and their solicitor and laid out the options in a clear, concise and calm manner to all parties. We had already had a bad experience with another Estate Agent with this property so it was such a contrast to see Michael work diligently (even on his days off work) on the issues and stop us from panicking unnecessarily. This is where an experienced estate agent with a focus on customer service is really priceless and one that puts its customer first before profit.
The team at WJ Meade worked so hard - they even emailed us the final meter readings as well as regularly checking the property was safely locked up after visits from photographers, surveyors and mortgage valuer’s and liaising with the appropriate solicitors and buyer etc. We lived 28 miles away from the property and we had entrusted WJ Meade with this property and they did not let us down.
