Tenantlink real estate agency gave me an appointment to view a property on Monday at 3:00 PM.
I bought an expensive train ticket from Durham in the north to Southampton in the south just to see this property, and I adjusted my annual leave accordingly.
Today, while browsing the site for alternative properties, I discovered that the property had been rented out. I called the agency. They casually told me the property was rented out and offered a weak apology.
I spent a significant amount on train tickets, which I might be able to cancel, but I planned my annual leave around this appointment. This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Who is going to compensate me for this mess? This level of incompetence is a disgrace.

Denied to have a viewing unless I can already provide a guarantor. Just because I am on probationary period in my new job after having to move home from abroad (I spent a year in Spain teaching in in an international school) to attend to health matters in our immediate family. Both my husband and I are in our 50-s, British citizens, professionals, I personally have never been out of work, but the agent wasn't going to give us even a chance. I have never heard of such practice before, asking for guarantors BEFORE even viewing, the new heights of laziness. Or, I wonder if this has to do with my accent, I have lived in the UK for 22 years, citizen for 15, but still have an accent and I was treated like dirt, really insulting.
Their phone system is appalling too, they tried to call me while I was at work after my initial contact and filling in their questionnaire in email, which I couldn't take. When I rang back their menu for prospective tenants simply directs you to the website to arrange viewings etc. and hangs up on you, no chance to speak to a human. I had to circumvent this by choosing a different menu option for the second attempt, but now I understand, if I want humans and a service I need to find a different agency.
It's just difficult to get a place for our "special needs", I e. 2 beds and 2 baths, and I am finding that the competition for every single flat makes agencies generally lazy and rude, but this experience was something beyond that.

I have lived this rented apartment for yearly one year now, and it's been an amazing experience with Tenant link I must say. They're very professional, and attentive to tenant's needs, especially with urgent maintenance services. I would recommend them for anyone.

I have been a contractor for Tenant Link for a few years and find them a very professional company.
I receive regular work and prompt payment of invoices. Also it is good to go to properties where the tenants are very happy with the service they receive from the company.

we use several agents in southampton - we own varous proeprties all over the south and hence use more than one agent. but i can say without any hesitation that Tenant Link provide the best service for ourselves as major landlords and for our clients (from students to families and working professionals)
Far and away the easiest agent to deal with has been Jon and the team at Tenant Link - i can literally start a conversation with any member on the office floor and be guaranteed a high level of service and ideas and solutions to my issues.
We've been with Tenant Link for a very long time - and obviously when it comes to finding good quality tenants and reduced void times TL are hard to beat - actually look forward to seeing the team and having a chat - yes they are that good..

Tenantlink real estate agency gave me an appointment to view a property on Monday at 3:00 PM.
I bought an expensive train ticket from Durham in the north to Southampton in the south just to see this property, and I adjusted my annual leave accordingly.
Today, while browsing the site for alternative properties, I discovered that the property had been rented out. I called the agency. They casually told me the property was rented out and offered a weak apology.

I was renting with them for 1 1/2 years and the only way to get them to do anything was to get to the point of threatening them with legal action for negligence.
When I moved in there were faulty electrics, a fridge freezer in the back garden and other faults with the property, which they stated they would fix before I moved in. They told me every time I called they would fix it and after 5 months asked me what I meant about the fridge freezer being in the back garden. It took 10 months to be sorted only after threatening legal action.
They take ridiculous fees for the smallest of jobs (such as a reference for next landlord costs £30). They do not aim to aid the tenant in any way and the customer service is more than lacking.
I would recommend going through a different agency or to be prepared to fight for any issues to be fixed and for the deposit to be returned.
