They're usually quite good but I've discovered they're currently failing on emergency customer support. Out of nowhere, water has started dripping from the ceiling beneath the roof in multiple areas. They are unreachable on dozens of the phone numbers I discovered through their website and emails. There is no response from their main number, office landlines, the repair team, the property team and work mobiles. No one is answering. What's most shocking is that calling either their primary phone number or their head office number gives the immediate message The mailbox of the person you are calling is currently full. They flash 24/7 support. Experienced professionals, real people to deal with. all over their website but don't clarify how you contact their 24/7 support team. After a lot of searching, I found an 24h number through a separate website of theirs. RentLocally Team if you're reading this customer feedback, you need to make this number clearly visible on your main website and regularly clear your mailbox.

As landlords, having been happily with a small agency (Edinburgh Letting) for a number of years we were passed on to Rent Locally when the owner of EdLet sold up. Despite assurances of a continued personal approach this failed to materialise, being on the end of automatically generated emails from unknown (to us) RentLocally staff. (We never met any of the staff despite a promise to meetup).
The main issue, however, was the low bar for property inspections; a less than adequate few words in an email with no supporting photographs and, as we discovered, the inspections very much did not reflect the reality of the state of the property. The last report declared “The property is being well looked after by the tenant, he appears to be cleaning regularly”. What we found a week later, bizarrely, was long term ingrained dirt in all areas of the property, particularly the bathroom and kitchen, which was the result of continued neglect. The same level of quality control was applied to the checkout when again a level of dirt and broken inventory item was accepted by RentLocally without the tenant being challenged until we raised a flag.
On the positive side they found a tenant and collected the rent for us.

Do not rent with them if it can be avoided. The house was advertised as unfurnished, however they left numerous items of furniture which we were told we could move. They have now deducted money from our deposit for moving the furniture.
it was advertised as having a two car garage - we arrived to find the majority of the owners property in the garage. no room for cars or items of our own. when we asked for it to be moved, we had months of messages saying it would be moved soon and then told they plan to sell the house so will be doing a no fault eviction to get rid of us as they want to buy a house in Devon.
Far too many issues to list, however this is the worst of them. they done the usual stuff to keep some of our deposit such as say we hadn't swept a floor properly and the old "oven wasn't cleaned to our satisfaction". but we kind of expect that from agencies such as this. However the way we were treated was shocking.
it is no wonder they no longer accept reviews on their own website

I have the fully managed service for the property I rent out but I get very little for the fee I pay. They simply collect the rent and do rare periodic inspections lasting a few minutes, providing me with little feedback. Not good value for money. To stop using the service you apparently have to give two months notice and pay six months service fee. This is a rip off so I would consider carefully before using the service of this company.

Where do I start, this company is a complete joke. They are all nice getting you into the property but once your in they quickly lose interest. Any repairs or requirements take months to complete. The icing on the cake for us was being served the itemised list of what they are planning to deduct from your deposit. This price list is only shown to you on departure from the property as if you saw it before signing the contract you just wouldn't go near them. They are as crooked as they come. Flat was left absolutely spotless with zero damage (I lived there for 4 months) yet they still managed to find something to charge for. I would sincerely advise anyone looking to rent to stay well away from this unscrupulous band of thieves.

Rent Locally don't practice what they preach.
Maintenence checks and cleaning are not carried out before new tenants move in. Inventory was 4 years out of date. Fobbed me off when I reported dangerous oven. They send handyman for maintenance jobs instead of qualified tradesperson and repairs are done on the cheap. I queried frequency of inspections (as it wasn't made clear on tenancy agreement) and because they don't like being challenged they threatened to end my tenancy. Their director harassed and bullied me by making aggressive contact out of hours over a weekend. He later confessed that he had been drinking. Even though he apologised, it was shocking behaviour from a director to harass a tenant especially when drunk. I had to get the landlord to intervene. From then on I only dealt with landlord.

I was lied at the viewing, promised a lot of cleaning/fixing jobs to be carried on the property, no need to lie if they didn't want to have bother they could have stated right away that a tenant getting the house would have had to clean it.
Because of that, (+ minor frictions: lack of information and rudeness from their part) after I had given notice at my current place, paid all the money needed, done council papers and the agreement had already been electronically accepted, after all this, I insisted on written confirmation of the house being given clean to me as promised at the viewing and I got rejected, everything cancelled and my money refunded without a care for my family possibly facing homelessness and getting enormous amounts of stress and upset. Not to mention the breech of contract.
I tried to compromise because I really wanted to move but no attempt on their part was made once their mind was set.
They said the landlord was responsible for their decisions but given the previous lies I am inclined to think it was yet another lie to cover their own mistakes.
Avoid.

I had nothing but bother with this letting agent there was little to no contact made with me from day one. I applied for the flat and know one phoned or emailed to tell me my application had been successful I had to phone them myself to find out. The only emails I received were periodic check up emails one which they failed at aswell and were in the property without permission now I've moved out and they are charging me for cleaning but the flat was cleaner than it was when i moved in after a heated conversation via email (once I actually got a hold of them) I chose to accept the deductions placed on my deposit because I could not take one more minute of dealing with this incompetent company I would not recommend them to anyone and glad to be rid of them.
