We went with Bridgfords because we were assued that they had buyers on their books who wanted this particular kind of property. Within a day, they contacted us to advise that we had an offer from a cash buyer. This prompted us to put in an offer on a house we wanted. The agent handling the purchase contacted Bridgfords to ascertain the status of the cash buyer. As it turns out, it wasn't a cash buyer but someone who was in a chain, albeit had been in the chain for a while and expected to complete imminently, hence being construed as a cash buyer.
We stuck with that person but it took 8 months to finally complete, albeit on a different property because the other agent didn't have confidence in Brigfords either
The agent acted in a totally unprofessional manner often not having a clue what was going on with the chain below and only making it confusing what was or wasn't happening.
I would recommend people to steer clear of this firm.
What agent could do to change your mind?
They should have been upfront with us from the start and mentioned the chain. They were too eager to conclude a sale instead of getting the facts right.
After all, they were employed by us not the buyer or anyone else.
They should not employ people in a customer facing position who are unfamiliar with the conveyancing process who only made matters worse.

As a Landlord, you are considering using a Letting Agent do not go anywhere near Bridgefords. Over several years I have been the victim of a catalogue of mistakes from using them to tenant find and in property management. After finding and recommending a tenant on the first occasion the tenant in question went on to fail to pay rent amounting to £1000's and multiple court appearances. Subsequently with another tenant over 5 years they failed to meet their contractual obligations in the management of the property and failings in property inspections resulted in my property being left in £2000 worth of disrepair when the tenant left. They also failed to recover the deposit (amounting to half the repair bill) Conclusion: STAY AWAY

TL/DR;
So far if I could give zero stars I would give them but I will give 1 instead because some of the people working there are honestly nice. However,.... My self and my partner we started renting a house run by Bridgfords Letting Agents since last Monday 14/02/22. First, the images shown in the advert with what we actually got are two different stories, we also did our viewing online (due to working schedules restrictions) and apparently it was a MASSIVE MISTAKE because we obviously got scammed.
When we moved in the house was in a state of filthy mess, the previous tenants didn't clean, the house has pilled up years of filth, dust, dirt. The otherwise advertised as ''new'' carpets had stamps and spots all over and I am waiting to see if there are also carpet beetles after finding one yesterday.
We had a week to report things against the agency's inventory, which we did. Of course we reported the mess and filthiness and we were PROMISED some actions to be taken until yesterday, and in our last phone call with them they said that they are still working on our cases but it is stack between the previous tenants, landlord and a third party (which I am guessing is the deposit scheme). What we are asking is for someone to deep clean the house and get rid of the years of filth and what we get in response is that the landlord is awaiting to take the deposit back from the previous tenants to fix it? What kind of logic is this? Why are we put in the same basket with the old tenants?
Time to mention that the house is also a junkyard, old forgotten devices mounted on walls, archaic light shades and a set of curtains that are reeking and are the dirtiest piece of cloth I have seen in my life.
There are wires exposed, the part furnished devices I don't know when they have passed last their safety test. So the situation I am describing is this and we are asked in good willing and hope to wait for a response and not start cleaning imediately? Of course we started cleaning, because this is bordeline health and safety case, we bring with us our new furniture and we don't want to land in a house that is dirty.
So I am asking, what would the agency have achieved with us waiting? Because obviously our requested has been thrown in the bin.
Who tells me that we are not doing the job the agency should have done, and now they use our photographyic evidence to strip the deposit from the previous tenants? Because their photographic inventory report was lacking big time. So either they were covering the real problems so they arise later and blame them on us or the person who did the inventory is stupid.
In any case, whatever they do favours the landlord, everything they do is to keep THEM safe, because their fee comes from THEM, not from two humble invidividuals who rent a property from the agency.
But the hard truth, dear agency, is that YOU are the mediator and customer satisfaction comes from two different parties. You have failed to play this game when you chose one over the other. And no matter how hard I tried to keep myself from writing a review, it's been a week that I am stressing for something I shouldn't, and because I want this review to be out there for you to see that some things are serious.
I am sure some people who are dealing with our case tried their best but if they were me you would have done the same and making this public.
Can I ask in which redress scheme this agency belongs to so I can make an official complain to them as well?

Lovely when they're showing somewhere but then it turned into a nightmare. Nothing got fixed as promised. We didn't have a fence for our whole tenancy despite being told it would be fixed on moving it. Found mice holes that had just been tapped up. But the worst was at the end. We got a letter of repossession against the owner towards the end of our tenancy, we had intended to renew as couldn't really be bothered to move and had discussed this. However, on showing them the letter were told to postpone this until it was sorted (fair enough) 2 weeks until the end of the tenancy and we had still not heard anything (it had been 2 weeks since the letter had come) so we told them we weren't going to renew and would be leaving by the end of our tenancy. We were told this would be fine and we weren't expected to pay extra despite being after the notification date due to the situation. We were still waiting for our deposit 3 months later, no communication from them so went through the dispute service. When they were told that what got a phone call stating they were keeping all but £50 of our deposit due to "damage" aka the things they had said they would fix at the beginning, rubbish in the bins (most of which was actually left over by builders from prior to us moving in in a bin we don't use) and because we left after the notice period (already discussed). The woman I spoke to had a disgusting attitude and basically threatened that if we went through with the dispute service we would have no deposit and would likely have to pay damages too? Well we ended up with almost every penny of the deposit back, some was kept for things such as light bulbs missing which had previously been missing but technically we were meant to replace them. Never touching that branch again. It's a shame because the Blyth branch was lovely.

The team at Bridgfords Gosforth were a great support when buying my first home. From the first day I went in house hunting they explained the process in a simple way and answered all of the questions I had. All house viewings were arranged in a timely manner and communication with all team members was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and made me feel at ease when in the office. Once I had my offer accepted and was dealing with the solicitors, the team at Bridgfords were still there to provide advice and support - arranging further viewings of the property at my request. After completion there have been one or two issues with the property that needed sorting and Bridgfords have helped me to contact the necessary people and arrange for the jobs to be completed.
I would recommend Bridgfords in Gosforth to anyone searching for a property to buy. Thank you to the team for making my experience of buying a house that little bit easier!

I don't really know where to start about my nightmare experience with Bridgfords / Countrywide, other than they are the single most unhelpful, rude and obnoxious collection of people I have had the misfortune of renting from. (Gosforth branch Newcastle)
They got from myself and my house mates a trouble free tenancy, we didn't break anything, kept the house, gardens, and driveways in perfect condition, we even adopted, paid, and cared for the landlords cat, at the end of the tenancy when they wanted to bump the rent up, & charge more admin fees for us to stay in the house we declined and proceeded to look for another property and move out, bad idea, its at this point Bridgfords show their true colours and when you are no longer staying with them they couldn't care less about you, I would get random knocks at the door at all hours of the day including late evening with them showing people round the property with absolutely no notice at all, this happened on at least 15 occasions, of which maybe 5 we knew about, when moving out, we completed a checkout procedure and were told everything was great and that our deposit would be paid back in full, we then received a bill for £150 to change 4 lightbulbs, which we are currently disputing, as you can imagine Bridgfords are playing the usual cards, and saying that its in our contracts to replace bulbs.
From day one I wish I had never bothered, thinking back the guy who showed us some properties in the beginning acted like we were a real burden on his time, he showed us 4 properties in total but you could tell he wasn't interested in us and wanted to be elsewhere, the run around trying to get paperwork signed when we had decided on a property was also a joke and took 2 weeks, the admin fee's were extortionate and now we are having problems just getting out deposit back without this fine.
I WILL NEVER USE BRIDGFORDS IN ANY CAPACITY EVER AGAIN, PLEASE TAKE THEIR TERRIBLE REVIEWS AND SCORE ON HERE SERIOUSLY IT WILL BE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU'RE LIKELY TO MAKE RENTING OR BUYING WITH THEM.
