Grainger response to the roof leak issues in our development has been very disappointing. The leak issues have been happening for a long time and every time Grainger only did some patchy jobs which proved ineffective and short-lived and the problem kept reappearing.
Last time they were informed about the major leak issues in one of our blocks in mid-2019. They were very slow to react to this and to do anything about it that by now in March 2021, when they finally starting doing some works, some of the flats have become inhabitable covered and dump and black mould (ceilings and carpets). Throughout this time Grainger through their managing agent accused affected leaseholders of (i) not being patient enough (recall it's been a year and a half and people witnessed their homes deteriorating quickly); (ii) not providing enough information about the leaks (this is despite multiple repeated emails with photos and everything and even Grainger's own surveyor visiting the affected properties and taking the photos); (iii) exaggerating the problem and advising that flats are habitable (one look at the provided photos or a quick visit to the property would convince anyone it is a health danger to live there).
Overall, extremely disappointing of how slow and ineffective Grainger is in dealing with this issue.
