It's disappointing they even charge any fees if the customer care is anything to go by

Sam Lancaster, head of property management who has organised this is always available to speak and the secretary Cheryl hung up the phone when we try to call to resolve the matter. Our contract terminated on 31st of March. Its now 8th of June and we are still waiting to see our deposit. This not due to a dispute with the landlord but the amount of time it is taking for Greene & Co to forward the deposit to us after the agreement with the landlord. All we want is our deposit back to we can move on and forget about them.

GREENE & Co - More like scam artists than state agent.
If the head of property management Sam Lancaster and the company Director Simon jackson who we ve been dealing with are too incompetent to provide good customer service then what can you really expect from the rest of the Geene & Co team.

Still my deposit is still not released 4 weeks after I moved out of the property. I have been promised they would chase their accounts department and payment would be with me soon too many times.
I have been renting with them for more than 4 years but this is the last time I am renting with them. Very incompetent service.

On the day we moved in, the lock didn't work. We called, someone showed up to confirm the nature of the problem and then NEVER RETURNED.
We were left to our own devices, locked out of the flat with all our possessions on the street.
When we moved into the flat it hadn't been cleaned. And by that I mean it was in an absolutely disgusting condition. My feet were literally black after walking on it for just 1 minute. The fridge and the oven were turned into biological experiments with creatures of all kinds growing inside. They just didn't do their job.
Now they want to charge us �180 to simply renew the tenancy contract, a procedure that doesn't cost them anything (or �20 at best) and which is nowhere to be found in any contract or documentation we've signed. I have never come across in 6 years of renting in London with 3 other agencies.

Overall, I had an unpleasant experience with Greene & Co. We moved in to one of their properties early 2014 and lived there for 18 months. In the very beginning everything seemed great, the staff was polite and professional. But when all the contracts were signed and we started living in the property, every time we (me and my partner) tried to communicate with our property manager regarding any queries, we had to chase for up to 5 days for a reply and only after cc'ing senior managers in the emails, we would get a reply.
We had to wait for weeks, sometimes MONTHS for issues to get fixed, even though it states on their website that Urgent Queries are dealt with within a few days.
Once our pipes got blocked and we were unable to use the washing machine and kitchen sink for over 6 weeks. We had to take all of our clothes to the cleaners (at out expense, only once the landlord offered us £ 20.00 as gesture of goodwill, how Greene and Co put it) and wash the pots and pans in the bathroom sink. For 6 weeks in a tiny bathroom sink!!! This issue was dealt with absolutely unprofessionally, we had to chase and call and still we would get a reply weeks later only to hear Greene and Co blame the building managers. Also, in the end when the boiler company did come in, our manager from Greene & Co didn't inform us beforehand so we came home from work to see our front doors being wide open with 2 people working but we didn't prepare, put our valuables away etc. I find it extremely unprofessional for a letting agency.
Often, I would send an email and the property manager would just say that she didn't receive it, or received only photos without any text. This is just silly, I didn't believe it once, because all other emails did come through, it was only the unpleasant ones that "got lost". Once, my boyfriend called their landline in the office and the Property Manager said she can't talk because she is out on a property with a client. That was highly unbelievable as well.
One other thing is that it is stated in the contract that the landlord or representative from Greene & Co can come in after giving us a 24 hour notice. Only once or twice we were given that notice, otherwise at least 10 times they just called us 20 minutes before the landlord was there so we had no choice but to approve. I understand that there are different circumstances but I had a feeling that our opinion never mattered for them at all.
Also, a lot of times when I sent an email, the property manager misspelled my name. It's not that it's that important, it just left a bad aftertaste and a feeling of disrespect. She called me "Alicia, Anna, Alison, Elisa" and at one point it just started to seem rude, especially because my name is in my signature.
I would rate Greene & Co with 2 Stars, rather than 1 because "Hated" is a strong word. But every time I think of the 6 weeks of washing pots in the bathroom... You guys are awful and 1 star is all you get.

We spent a number of months searching for properties in the area and identifying the type of thing we wanted. After being contacted by Joseph about attending an open house we went along (a bit skeptical be joining 20+ others in this process), but upon arrival loved the property. It was reasonably priced unlike other agents in the area, and this was a pleasant surprise!
From that point on Joseph managed the process for us from bid through to acceptance and ongoing, working often until late in to the evening to secure answers. The communication has been very frequent, and the responses on the whole very swift, which was of importance given the wish of both the vendor and ourselves to move quickly.
As a result I would have no hesitation in recommending Green & Co for future moves should the need arise.
