These clowns deserve zero stars for the appalling way they treated my 63 year old dad. Sending him on a 6 hour round trip, costing him £25 to view an unsuitable property.
He enquired about a leasehold property and was told pets were accepted. He specifically requested if this was a definitive answer and would not view otherwise. He received a message from Imogen stating that yes small animals (like a cat) were fine and she had booked a viewing.
On travelling to the property the staff member conducting the viewing Chloe was absolutely clueless. The tenants currently renting the property informed him that no pets were allowed. The staff member didn’t know either way, started mentioning total irrelevancies like “oh, maybe they’ll leave the washing machine” and “if you’re feeling lonely you can meet people in the grounds (of the property).”
He asked the staff member if the heating was gas fired? She said “yes” the tenants corrected her saying it was electric.
My father did not receive an apology for the waste of his time and his limited income.
When challenged, Imogen who had provided the wrong information said in an email “oh it looks like there was miscommunication between vendor and management company” as if it had nothing to do with her and it wasn’t her job to provide answers to factual questions like “are pets allowed?”
My dad really liked the property and if pets were allowed as he was misinformed, he would've put in an offer. He has learnt from dealing with these clueless individuals and will now not view a property until he has written confirmation that pets are allowed.
I would not use these Estate Agents and would not take anything they say on face value.

I arranged with Jennifer to view a property and on the day, which was last Tuesday, I arrived with a friend. When “Jennifer” arrived she got out of her car, did not greet us just smiled and did not acknowledge my friend when I introduced her, just a nod. At this point it turned out that “Jennifer” was not Jennifer but was Emily. I loved the property and asked Emily to advise the landlord that I would like to rent it and would pay 6 months upfront as I had no renting history. I advised her that I was in a hurry for responses as I was relocating. I was then informed that there were viewings booked for the weekend which the landlord may or may not want to go ahead with. She said she would contact him when she got back to the office. I strongly got the impression that she was not interested in my offer and I had doubts that she would even pass them to the landlord especially as on leaving the property the next viewees arrived and were greeted by Emily with a big smile and a handshake, my immediate thought was that this is the couple she is going to rent to.
On Wednesday I phoned Emily to ask for the landlords thoughts only to be told that she hadn't yet contacted him. I reiterated that I was relocating from Kent and needed to make arrangements at my end and she said she would ring him. That was 5 days ago and I'm still waiting for the response.
As an ex estate agent myself I know that I should have been greeted in the same way as the 2nd couple; that there should be no favouritism in who gets the property; my offer should have been passed to the landlord ASAP; I should have received a call with the landlords response whatever it may have been.
This is obviously not a professional company and having now read their reviews (and excuses) I decided that I needed to view my thoughts too. I am disgusted by the way my enquiry has been handled and would not consider renting a property from this company again.

I'm not generally in the business of leaving bad reviews but this company really are awful. Firstly, I'd imagine we are some of the best tenants a landlord could hope for. Both professional people while my partner is bordering on ocd when it comes to cleanliness. We rented for almost 2 years and always paid on time and only had to make contact a couple of times to sort issues out. Whenever you do contact them they are plain rude as others have said and will mostly just ignore you. They lie and make it sound like it's your fault whenever you chase. I don't think I've ever had to give a single company my email address as many times as Dorset lettings have asked for mine yet emails still aren't forthcoming. They make out they are very professional to begin with but I would stress they are the only agents that have ever left me without a gas certificate, and did so for some months. We moved out 26th June and today is 15th July and we still haven't had a penny of our deposit back. It's the 5th property I've rented through an agent and the first time anyone has made any deductions. They only want to deduct 70 for what I would call some very very minor things but having paid 10s of thousands in rent over 2 years it leaves you with a very bitter taste. They made no allowances for wear and tear at all and the invoice they have sent me for the additional cleaning is definitely fake. I know this as its dated the same day as the inventory check was done yet says it was quoted prior. I also know from an old neighbour that no one visited the property that day. With the things that allegedly needed doing on the inventory you would be looking at 1 hour max anyway so the charge is extortionate. We left the place immaculate. After seeking advice we agreed to the deductions anyway as any deductions less than 100 will cost us money to appeal which is something they clearly exploit. In spite of this we are still waiting for the cheque for the remainder of the deposit. The fact we are still waiting is either testament to their unprofessionalism or their maliciousness whatever way you look at it. I tried to be as amenable as possible when it came to viewings once we'd given notice, even letting them do one with less than 10mins notice. They on the other hand would arrange other viewings and then just not turn up, at the end of one of the viewings I went round the property with one of the agents showing a few areas of concern to try and ensure we left the property in good condition. She agreed with me on a lot of the issues and was going to speak to the property manager who I never heard from apart from a generic letter telling me we were contractually obliged to have the carpets and the oven professionally cleaned and provide receipts (on checking our contract we weren't). So in the end we repainted half the property ourselves - This shows the extent we went to to make sure the property was left in good condition yet Dorset lettings don't even have the courtesy to respond to any kind of enquiry. Landlords should avoid as good tenants don't rent from them twice, especially as their fees are by far the highest in the area for tenants to begin with.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Ask about what support they will offer if there are discrepancies in the future. To which they should reply \'we\'d be totally useless\'

Totally unhelpful, unsupportive, and left us really deflated after renting a property through these agents.
We were under the impression that we'd have some backup if there were any disagreements with the landlord, however they made no effort to help us with our concerns, directing us back to the landlord who was rude and totally unreasonable. This experience cost us alot of money, and this company were totally useless through the whole process. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Since that experience we have moved away and found not all letting agents are the same, hence this negative review.

Learn some customer service skills, you may well have had some bad tenants, renting your properties but that does mean all tenants will behave this way. Take the massive chip off your shoulder with new customers, luckily there are plenty more agents out there.

Phoned this agent today, to view a property. The agent didn't introduce themselves, and gave a hostile attitude throughout the call, tried to arrange a viewing, however was told they only work until 4.45pm, when questioned how a professional working person (one of the many intrusive questions they asked) would be able to view, rudely I was told that's when I work, my response was to suggest they open later say 12pm and work till 8, I was given a torrent of abuse. These people seem to forget that we are the customers, we are both professional working people and shouldn't be talked to so rudely and the tone was full of accusation.
We will not be using this agent because if they are this rubbish on first inquiry, what are they like to deal with when resigning etc
