Bartek and AK lettings have been great. I was in two minds whether to sell or re-let our flat, but decided - largely due to Bartek's proficient and helpful advise - to re let. Awful. Reported leaking roof 12 months ago, still not fixed. Landlord now facing expensive repair costs, whilst Alder King continue to charge expensive fees. Poor poor poor customer relations. Super Friendly agency, Always a pleasure to be around. My Favourite in bristol AND they have beautiful properties to rent. Very well priced. Agency fees are never going to be super cheap, so dont hang around for that. For what i paid (which is the normal charging fee if not significantly lower) i am totally happy. They always want to help and get things done on time.

Super Friendly agency, Always a pleasure to be around. My Favourite in bristol AND they have beautiful properties to rent.
My agent Bartek is terrific, he always had suggestions to save me money when moving in, rather than have me pay more.
The Landord is also a lovely person, which shows to me alder king invest time and effort in getting the best people in their team.
Anything that wasnt working in the flat even after we signed the iventory, they were completely happy to sort out.
They always want to help and get things done on time. Any bad reviews i can only imagine stem from miscommunication or an unfortunate situation.

Extremely disappointed with this agency when an offer was accepted on a rental property and agency fees paid (having had to work hard to get the property off the market and pay a higher rent than advertised) only to hear a few days later that the property had fallen through for a reason that could have been completely avoided. The landlord had discovered that he was not allowed to rent the property out and I was surprised that the agency had not checked the landlord's paperwork before taking him on as a client. Given that I would have thought this would be a basic first step when taking on a new client, I can only assume that this agency is not professional and would avoid renting through them again at all costs.

After what promised to be a quick and easy let I encountered numerous problems.
The referencing company they use just simply doesn't work. You could fill out the form only to find that it won't submit and then after hunting down a phone number find that over half the form does not apply to you and that there are no options for you on the form.
The company's almost complete lack of ability to keep you up to date with what is going on (in my case the people started squatting) and advise you about what else to can be done.
Reassurance was given that any monies paid would be refunded, however i am still waiting for this nearly a week later after having now asked for it back 3 times with two of those times being basically ignored. Further to that i have been told that it might take several days for the money to be transferred?! If they want you to pay on time then they should as well and several days is just not acceptable.

The £360 fee for ONE person to rent a small damp studio flat in a building erected in 1929 is extortionate and cannot be justified whatsoever.

Very sweet and convincing until I whipped my credit card out to pay £360 agency fee for a small studio flat. After that I was dropped like a ton of bricks, ignored and told she cannot do anything to help although once I picked the keys up she said: 'I'm here if you need anything, just give me a ring'. There was water damage on one of the walls from leak coming from the roof, she assured me it will be sorted before I move in. didn't happen.
Emma Vincent - she was the only decent and understanding agent, quite helpful. Odd how she disappeared very quickly. Probably because she wasn't a bully.
Overall company - terrible! They never answer the phone, rarely call back, they make you as tenant feel like a criminal, try to blame you for the things that break in the property. Also, have the nerve to try and charge £60 for a letter that you don't need, £125 for renewing the short hold tenancy agreement which they never utter or written a word before hand. Contractors are allowed access to the property without the tenant being informed 24 hours prior as stated in contract so your privacy is 0. I could go on with so many other problems!
They harass you over the phone for money you shouldn't pay. Customer service is atrocious, you feel intimidated and think twice before you pick up the phone to ask them anything.
They sold me a contract for a dump: mouldy walls, appliances broken, thermostat is just a feature on the wall, ventilator in bathroom faulty, broken window that they can't be bothered to fix (is November and I might as well sleep outside, same temperature in the flat).
Oh... and if you need to file a complaint... no one ever replies. Waste of time and money.
Word of advice, for both tenants and landlords: STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
