What agent could do to change your mind?
Normally I\'m not one to write negative reviews, simply because I just can\'t be bothered with it. However, sometimes I feel it is necessary to do so in order to warn other consumers and prevent them from possibly making the same mistakes and going through the same pains my wife and I went through. In this particular scenario, I want to talk about Accents Lettings Department in Fenstanton.
Time after time, my wife and I have been disappointed by the consistent lack of customer service from their part. The house we moved into a year ago has had nothing but problems, our power shower breaking and having to wait 3 weeks in order for it to get fixed is one of many examples. Nonetheless, my wife and I have been patient and never really complained. Finally, after a year of being good, honourable tenants we have moved out, only to find out that the problems and pains are still persistent. Accents checkout report is simply ridiculous, they are holding us accountable for things such as a missing smoke alarm even though when we moved into the property there weren\'t any and Accent came out and had their contractor install some for us (apparently they are magically missing now). They are also holding us accountable for broken light bulbs even though we spent about £45 in new light bulbs because Accent wouldn\'t provide us with them when we moved in. Also, when we moved in, there was unpaid balance on the utilities by the previous tenants that we had to take care of. Despite of all this, we just dealt with it and moved on.
I also want to point out that Accent cleaning standards to move out are excessive, unreasonable and unfair. My wife contracted a professional cleaning service to take care of the house when we moved out only to find out that it is not clean enough according to their standards. When we first moved into the property there was cat hair all over the carpets and dog waste in the garden. It is my personal belief, as it should be everyone\'s, that you should leave a house the way it was given to you; however, in this case we took the time to leave the house in better conditions than it was when we received it a year ago.
Anyways, hopefully my voice will be heard by Accents top Management in order for this issue to be resolved and us get our deposit back in full. If we don\'t get it back, it will be regrettable to know that other tenants and good people just like my wife and I will be screwed over in the future.

The property is full of damp a fact that is painted over when you 1st rent but very soon appears. I will be out in a couple of weeks and will look to take action against this agent. DO NOT RENT WITH THEM.

We rented with accent (previously Vernon) for over 6 yrs. each quarterly inspection reported we kept the property in immaculate condition and we have the inspection reports to prove this. On moving out and final inspection, having fully decorated to freshen the place up ( we loved the house) the place gleamed in preparation for final inspection. On the day we were inspected by someone who had never visited the property before and we even made sure the lady lady was present to ensure no deposit issues. The inspector found one cobweb and some dust after running his finger along one door frame. We were told that our deposited would be forfeited because of this and they told the landlady that although she was happy with the clean house that a full clean would need to take place and it either comes out of our pockets or hers. Our phone calls never returned, put on hold for ages and then cut off, spoken to like we were the scum of the earth. Absolutely disgusting practice and rest assured they have cleaning companies that give accent a healthy commission from your deposit. Liars and frauds, the worst company we have ever dealt with and it makes you feel powerless. They've done this to lots of people and all have reviewed give the same story. Avoid them and save yourselves the grief of cowboy dealers who only have your money in mind, trust me if you have a problem with the house they couldn't give a rats backside. I want to go to the local papers, start legal action etc etc just to save some other poor soul from having their deposit stolen

What agent could do to change your mind?
-Improve the overall customer service
-Sack worthless employees who have no training
-Employ people who know the industry well and have experiance
-Reduce costs to new tenants
-Stop buying out other agencies with good service and concentrate on your own
-Train staff to deal with tenants better
-On-line help for tenants
-Conduct their own inventory with trained staff
-Re-structure their process to make it easier and clearer for new tenants
-Contact information for new tenants to report issues to
-Which agent is their main contact
-Change the colours of their company, it looks like sick.
Laughable Service said about Accent Property Management Ltd.

Shocking, that is all I can say about this company. It was very laughable reading an article in the local paper about their award winning customer service, since none exsisited for us. Countless phone calls and none of them returned, e-mails which were uninformative, staff who were rude (even the managers!) and who really had no idea what they were doing and countless lies about how they did everything when really it was us, in the end we spoke direct to the Landlord as nothing was done by this useless company. Since day one nothing went well with our dealings with Accent when the administration fee was paid. We were forced to leave early and have now moved to another place with a different agency which was a breath of fresh air from the stink Accent created, but It's still not over with them, now underhandedly there are claiming we left the property in state, even thought the place was cleaned head to toe very thoroughly and better than what it was when we first moved in. I feel it won't be the last dealing with this company who have extorted at least £2000+ from us. If you have any common sense stay well away from this company or at least if unavoidable get everything in writing, signed and keep a very good log on all goings on and reports just in case you need to take them to court, which is quite likely in our case.

We found a property through Accent late last month and were due to move in this weekend. The bailiffs were meant to be going around and removing the current tenants as they refused to leave and were apparently booked on the 28th Feb. We got a call last week from Accent saying that the bailiffs would not be able to go around until the 9th April! effectively leaving us homeless for a month as we were all booked to move out of our house on Sunday with no explanation or apology.
On top of this they refused to refund the £300 admin fee even though this was all their problem from lack of organisation and nothing to do with us and they could not provide any suitable alternative accomodation.
We have used a couple of lettings agents in the past and these are the worst by far! we feel like we have just been conned out of £300!

As I had been a tenant in my previous home for 40 years I was very unfamiliar with the present day complexities of moving house. I was also downsizing from a much bigger house which caused me enormous problems. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RENT A PROPERTY FROM THESE PEOPLE! I have just had the misfortune of moving into a property in Huntingdon managed by Accent Property Management. The property was, if possible, dirtier than when I viewed it. To say it was filthy is an understatement. There were piles of rubbish left in the corners of the floor, bags of rubbish left in the kitchen, no running hot water (no water at all from the tap), the boiler then broke down, there is no out of hours emergency number to call so I was forced into renting a hotel room, there's a gap between the frame of the lounge window and the wall through which daylight is visible, there's exposed filthy, damp pipework in the kitchen, mould, cobwebs and dust covering all of the blinds, broken catches on the windows, a shower that doesn't work and to top it all off I found out the landlady actually works for Accent as a property manager. What a complete and utter joke. PLEASE STEER CLEAR. SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF HASSLE, MONEY AND HEARTACHE. DO NOT USE ACCENT!
