Terrible experience, poor customer service, did not deliver to contractual obligations, passed from one Countrywide office to another. No consistent property manager. Fees â never ending. Do not be misled into the impression that Ashton Burkinshaw is a medium sized Lettings Agent, it is part of the large and impersonal Countrywide Group. My custom was passed from one âcompanyâ to another including MANN. So do you research. As a landlord I have had to take my business elsewhere. In particular, I would recommend that you insist on not having Georgina * as your property manager. Most unpleasant and aggressive in nature.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Release deposits to landlords who have proved the deposit is theirs to take, in compliance with the deposit scheme.

My experience is all to do with deposits at the end of a tenancy and it should be known that Ashtons have withheld a deposit from me unless I sign a fully legally indemnity, indemnifying Ashtons against all legal costs etc in the future. I've spoken to the deposit scheme they use and they are not allowed to do this and are in breach of their contract with the deposit scheme but still Ashtons won't do anything about it. It's led me to believe that Ashtons have no interest in their clients, only themselves. I will not be using them again and would not recommend them.

Do not recommend any other to this agency. I lived one year, not get any help from the agency, I asked for toilet flash problem, not get any positive response. They always blame landlord however they said its fully managed by the agency. End of my contact I moved to USA and they didn't return my deposit, however they send me a bill to clean up and decoration of flat which cost me my deposit. I felt totally unfair. Lots of my friends also not recommended this agency but I ignored them, now I understand I should have listened to them. I am totally unhappy :( Don't go.

If you rent through them and have a problem with anything in the house (i.e. boiler, fixtures, white goods) do not expect them to help. They never return calls, always have to be chased, try desperately to get you off the phone by giving noncommital answers to questions and most of the time ask you to sort out the problem yourself! what is the point in paying them money each and every month if they are not going to provide the service they are paid for?
After having no hot water for FOUR WEEKS the people in the branch knew my voice quite well and we often very rude to me on the phone. I am new to the area and do not have friends and relatives to turn to in these situations to use their shower etc so in order to wash both my self and my partner were forced to travel to the local swimming pool every weekday to use their facilities! In the end the delay turned out to be due to the plumber ordering a part which (due to them not listening over the phone) was not even needed!
Our extractor fan in the kitchen has been broken for FIVE MONTHS due to an electrical fault and is now resulting us having to disinfect the ceiling and walls weekly to stop mould developing - they say that the landlord will not authorise the maintainence - i'm damn sure my deposit will be dented when I leave my property, and for damage caused by something they have done nothing to fix.
I thought for a long time that they simply do not give a hoot about tenents because they are ten a penny but have recently found that they provide the same service to land lords as well. My colleague's parents own over seventy properties in and around Kent and, because they live almost next door to Francis Burkinshaw (the MD) they chose to let one of their residential properties through Ashton Burkinshaw. They were so disgusted by the service they received that they no longer use them - and they are a family friend of the owner!!!!
Since then i have found that my colleauge (a landlord) and two of his friends (tenents) have all had bad experiences with Ashton Burkinshaw and will no longer use them... And as i mentioned previously, i am new to the area and do not know many people.
My view - do not use Ashton Burkinshaw unless you have absolutly no other choice.
