I rented thru Acorn-it was appalling. The house was wrecked and filthy when I looked at it. Acorn never inspect their properties on behalf of the lanlords as far as I can tell. It could have been a nice house though so as they agreed to get professional cleaners in I went for it. On the day of the move I found house to still be dirty, rubbish in garden, oven filthy. Then I had to try and get deposit out of them when I moved out despite sweating blood to get house up to standard and maintain it, it was like getting blood out of a stone, in the end I had to threaten them with court action. Never deal with them-useless.

Worse service from a Estate Agent ever, never replies to emails or addresses issues we have experienced or raised with them. We have given them plenty of opportunities to help and resolve issues experienced after a leak. They just don't want to know as long as they get the rent money. Just fed up... Read Full Review

I have recently moved in to a property let by Acorns, I knew what I was getting in to a certain extent as I negotiated a discounted rent to do some of the work myself. I have recently moved in to a property let by Acorns, I knew what I was getting in to a certain extent as I negotiated a discounted rent to do some of the work myself. But by god, I really wish that I hadn't of even looked at the dump. How the hell Acorns are still in business letting houses that you'd laugh at if you saw them Homes under the hammer and well below the hhsrs, is beyond me. I have seen some of the properties they manage, and truthfully, I would say that Acorns are glorified facilitators for slum land lords.

They never notified us when the tenant didnt pay their rent, and never did any of the checks they were supposed to do. They also tried to charge us for work which we hadnt signed off.
Now with a proper agent (putterills) and the difference is remarkable.

I rented with a flat in Stevenage through Acorn. With the exception of the inside of the oven being filthy I had no other issues moving in to this property.
During my stay in the property Acorn always reacted slowly to dealing with issues and blamed that the landlord was difficult to get hold of, at the time I wasn't sure if this was them or the landlord. But when the property was reposessed it became evident that the issue was with the landlord.
Acorn were very helpful in helping us when this happened and gave us no issues when returning out deposit.

Do not use them even if you really love the property - it really is not worth it!
Flat was filthy when we moved in. We had to live without hot water for 10days before it was fixed. The toilet was not fixed to the floor. The electrics were condemned as dangerous by the siemens chap who came to fix the meter (that also did not work). The fridge did not work and it took 4months to get a new one. This is only a few of the problems we had.
Now we have moved out they are having issues about paying our deposit back - even though property is now spotless.

I used Acorn to let my flat, have had nothing but problems all the way. When the latest tenant vacated, I was told the property was okay, just needed a clean. Biggest understatement ever, the flat was filthy, carpets ruined, wallpaper ruined where she had cats, no permission was ever given, how you could miss cats on an inspeection beats me. There were items of furniture left behind, so much for the inventory check. They can't even do that properly, they were useless at chasing up for monies, the tenant did not pay the last months rental and wanted to use the deposit, 5 weeks down the line I still haven't received this nor have I received a response to my letter of compliant. This don't care attitude makes me mad. There are plenty of other estate agents, don't use this one.
